Thanks! No, I had the strawberry package and served Surf and Turf. It costs nothing different. As for the extra hours its $15 per person and hour. We were able to negotiate an extra hour as we had 80 guests....however when the party was suppose to end we extended it another hour and I think we paid only $850

I would suggest bring as much as you can and looking around online for the best prices.

(Iphones are not compatible with our audio system" Has anyone used an iPhone or do you truly have to use an iPod. We wanted to download and use a DJ app...however don't they all plug in the same? Other then the iPhone 5 which is different. Can anyone shed some light thanks so much for every ones help i'd be lost without this site !!!

  8. Okay its been some time since I posted anything. I have been so focused on little details. I have a few questions that I can't seem to find the exact answer to even after doing a search. 1. Negotiation on price - I get that they have to make money however, I do feel they nickle and dime you. I am bring 80 guests to this hotel all staying at the Palace for 7 -10 days. Has anyone had any lucky negotiating on the prices for anything? 2. Am I just not reading all this information correctly...not only do they charge you $66 per person over 15 (strawberry package) but then they also charge $15 per person for alcohol ??? My WC really has never made that clear on my spreadsheet of the price. 3. This outside vendor charge...do I have to pay $500 for my Photographer and $500 for my Videographer as well? 4. I did read somewhere that I don't have to pay for Adrian and his team to come on site as he includes that in his price and pays them ? 5. Are the 3 hours for the ceremony enough? What are suggestions to keep the price down 6. Rehearsal Dinner - is this something I get or do I have to pay for this as well ? Sorry I'm just freaking out and I'm only 32 days away from the Wedding. I am very fortunate that my parents are paying for my wedding however I don't want them to get down there and be like WTF are all these extra charges. So Brides that have recently been married there or anyone who knows an answer please HELPPPPP Thanks Sam
  9. Has anyone done a sand unity ceremony ? I want to do one but I worry about getting it home. I don't want it to get all shaken up or lose the pattern formed. Any tips...also any other suggestions other then the sand or candle ideas?

  14. Have you contacted the Wedding Coordinator yet? They will send you the PDF that breaks down each package. Once you confirm your date they will begin planing with a spreadsheet in steps. During those steps you will find out a lot more about the different things that are included. Do read through here as its like a bible of infomation. Personally I am not use the Resort photographer as I didn't like their quality of work. The one thing I keep being told is to not cheap out on a photographer as you can't recapture the day. I am still planing and Lilian has been really helpful with answering all my stupid quesitons.
  15. I am so overwhelmed on which Beach to choose. They all look so beautiful and really look the same when you haven't been to the resort. Can someone please help me, We want to get married on the beach...our date is April 29th 2013 at 5pm. We have 60 guests already booked. I am not sure of the sizes of the locations etc. As for the reception we want that on the beach as well.
  16. I am trying not to stress out over little things. However I'm feeling a little stressed and overwhelmed We are getting married on April 29/2013. Our flights are booked and our date has been confirmed. However I haven't heard back from the WC since August 28th. When she told me she would be in touch within a few days to start planning. I understand they are EXTREAMLY busy so I am trying to get as many details on here as possible ( thanks to everyone for posting its been really helpful with a lot of my decisions ) My main concern is that we fly in on Friday and get married on Monday and Jacqueline has already told my fiance via the phone that we will only have one meeting to get everything orgainzed. So I want to go in preparded with as many details as possible. My fiance told me to relax and wait for her to write me. What do you guys think?

  18. I had the same panic attack about my dress. I called the Airline and they basically told me that based on the flight crew and space there are a few things they might do. If there are empty seats they may lay the dress there, if there is room in the closet they will try to hang it or they will let you take an entire overhead bin and you have to fold your dress over and put it in there. My friend did that when we flew to Cabo for her wedding and it was fine. She did however bring a travel steamer with her. I'm also wondering about the favors so if you get any ideas please let me know ! Im getting married on April 29, 2013
  19. Hey Everyone, We just put our date on hold for April 30, 2013. We are staying at the Barcelo Maya Palace Sorry to ask a question that is probably been asked a few times on here. What are the locations for the ceremony and reception on the beach? I have heard of Playa Azul a few times, and Coral Beach. Does anyone have photos of these locations? As we are not doing a site visit it would be so helpful. Thanks
