I have been trying to get in touch with TaiFlora since February or March with NO response at all!! How did you reach them? phone?

I've emailed the wedding planner asking what I need to send because my paper work says 2 months before. and my wedding is 3months away!!, also that its just a birth certificate. do we need a marriage license?? What exactly has to be sent?

Another review for you. I was just at the resort from June 28 to July 5 and had my wedding on July 1, 2013. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Let me break it down for you...
Hotel- Its huge, We were in room 18415 and had a view of the main beach and it was private and beautiful. Food was good. Beach is nice, pool is nice..... The only thing I got complaints alot about was the towels. They have a towel shortage at the hotel for sure. We got told to come back constantly when we tried to replace our beach towels. They really should order more! And it the room as well. Our room was always stocked but alot of my friends complained that the cleaning lady would take the towels and not give new ones. If you want to avoid this problem, pack an extra towel in case...
Wedding planner- Originally I had Chandlyn, then I had Donna Lee and when I got there it was Tamika who became my new planner. She was amazing and so accomodating. We met and went over every detail and she was wonderful. I told her my vision and she made it happen. We brought our own chair ties and decor and wanted it set up a certain way and she did just that. I made a plan on the reception ( a play by play list) for her and she found it really helpful. If you have anything you need from the planners, be specific and they will get it done.
Wedding Day- It was a beautiful sunny morning, shaping up to be a great day. Went to get my hair done at 1pm for my 4pm wedding. They did a great job and had mimosa's waiting for us. GOt back to the room at 3pm and Chris Lee was already there waiting for me. I invited him in and ofered him a soda while I continued to get ready, put on my dress etc. Then at 3:30pm WORST NIGHTMARE happened- It was pouring rain! Pouring! I was so upset. I kept looking out the window and praying for it to stop. The phone started ringing saying we are going to wait and delay a little bit etc. I continued my shoot and Chris kept me calm telling me he knows it will pass. And it did!!! at 4pm the show was back on the road and everyone went down to the Gazebo.
Flowers- I got an upgraded bouquet #52 in the booklet i think and it was so pretty. We ordered 2 vases for the Gazebo and other flowers werealso placed there. Gorgeous work!
Ceremony- was short and sweet -15 mins tops and then a champagne toast and steel drum band was playing for my 67 guests. It was great and I cried as I walked down the isle. Took some family shots and a group shot and then we continued on our own for an 1.5 hour.
Photographer- As mentioned above, I had Chris Lee and the man was incredible. I was beyind happy with the gorgeous pictures he took. I will post some! He was a pleasure to work with as well.
Recpetion- Because we had a big group we booked the Dolce Vita and closed it down for a privat reception and the craziest dance party ever! It was a blast, food was good, pspeeches, toasts and dancing until the walls were sweating! Everyone cannot stop raving about the wedding and how beautiful it was.
All in all, it was amazing and they know what they are doing, My advice, plan your wedding and all the details and have alot of notes for the wedding planner and at the meeting and rehearsal make sure she "sees your vision". Don't worry about their slow replied to emails etc. Just know that they will pull it off as you want and hope! Relax and enjoy. The day passed so quickly it seems like a dream, try to take a moment when you can and soak it all in!

Your wedding sounds like it was amazing!! I'm getting married October 29. I also have Tamika now. I am trying to find out about upgraded chairs and she redirects me to TaiFlora who I've been trying to reach since March. How did you deal with your upgrades? Did you just choose them once you got there? thanks
-
Another question for anyone who got married or is getting close to the date. when did you have to send them the 'wedding requirements' form?? and how did the marriage license work? thanks
-
We will be there for our second week during your wedding.
how have you found dealing with the wedding planners? the replies are slow, and my planner just changed all of a sudden. also have you planned on doing any decoration upgrades?
-
Has anyone dealt with Taiflora for extra decorations or chairs. I have tried emailing them a number of times since march and get no reply. no my 'new' wedding planner is telling me to contact them again. and still nothing. my wedding is just over 3 months away!! I'm hoping it all works out. Also did anyone ever have welcome bags done up by the resort??
-
I did have Chandlyn as my planner but then all of a sudden started receiving replies from a different girl.
-
How did you get the pricing for the upgraded flowers? I have emailed tai flora a number of times and messaged them on fb. but no response. I wanted to look into costs for upgrading decorations too
-
My trip there will overlap with yours
Our wedding is October 29 and we are staying until november 9. we were given 5 times to choose from on the 29th but only one time on the 28th. since we wanted an afternoon wedding we went with 3pm on the 29th.
as for the time between ceremony and reception. that is a tough one. it will be a bit of a wait. I have heard of people in other areas like dominican that have rented a reception boat or yacht for a boat cruise. maybe that would be an idea for a cocktail hour of sorts

I am getting married here October 29, 2013.
I am hearing that the resort photographer isn't very good. but when you look on their website arrecifestudios, the pictures look pretty great to me. Does anyone have any feedback? And if there are any brides out there that have brought their own photographer, how did that work? did the resort charge you the vendor fee of $800? Thanks

Hi Angela,
I am also hoping to use the Piscis Restaurant, I keep asking the planner what the $1700 includes but her responses are short and hasn't answered that. I know it includes decorations, but did you have to pay extra for bar service and/or food?? I saw a few threads on here that seemed that they paid $20/person for bar service, but I think that was when they rented out the gazebo. Any help would be much appreciated thanks. Ang

Hi Angela. I am getting married there this fall. I am also hoping to get the piscis restaurant. What did you do for decorations? Brought your own? I have seem those paper lanterns on some people's pictures. Thanks AngHi Ali, I had it at the Pisces restaurant which is a outside patio, I am so glad I had it there, it was perfect! It was 1700.00 to close it down and have a private party for 4 hrs but the manager let us go for about an hour longer! Food was awesome! Can't say one bad thing about it! Angela -

Hey lmarie, The lobby bar is completely open and everyone is allowed there. I have attached two pictures of the outside lobby bar. There is one bar outside and tons of table/chairs all along the balcony. There is another bar inside, directly behind the balcony / in the white doors that you can see in pic #2. You can also see part of the bar to the left in that picture. Pic #1 gives you an idea of how much space there is. The main lobby is also right inside the doorway thats to the left in this pix. PS. the stairs that you can see are really annoying and I would suggest telling everyone to be super careful on them and maybe try to avoid them when drinking!! They are an awkward size ...it feels weird to take normal steps on them, but there not actually big enough for two steps!  Pic 1 Pic 2 Were there other brides around?? -
Hi, I am looking at the Poseidon for our private dinner reception next April. How did you like it?? I was set on the Blue Lagoon for some reason ( I think because it seems like everyone talks about it on here) but your pictures look very pretty. What was it like? I will probably have between 30-40 people attending
Thanks

Has anyone seen any pictures of the Pisces restaurant set up for the private reception? I'm trying to get an idea of what things will look like so I can start planning my decorations etc. We will be having approximately 70-90 people at our wedding in May, so I was wondering if anyone's seen any pictures of the venue set up for that many people? And does anyone know if the dancing and everything happens there as well? And is it outside or inside?
Thanks everyone!
I am renting the Pisces for our reception and it is outside. there are some pictures attached to this thread but maybe not for that many people! wow great group. but you might want to know that bar service isn't included in that fee. we are paying $1700, and as of now that hasn't changed. and I have confirmation emails, so it better not. Anyway we have to pay per person for bar service after the initial reception. you rent it for 4 hours. first two hours are dinner and they serve wine, pop and juice. the second two hours for the dance include DJ but no bar!!! you can get bar service for around $23-$29 per person for two hours depending on what kinds of alcohol you want.
hope this helps. my wedding is 6 weeks away and I will post a review when I get back! good luck planning.
