  1. ladies, I have had a lot of trouble planning my wedding since being switched to working with Angelica. I finally got fed up after emailing her 5 times and calling twice in a one month period of time with no response. I spoke with the resort manager, Alejandro, and he will be switching me back to Ana. (fingers crossed.) He asked me to email him so he will have all the facts. I would advise you to all do the same if you have a problem working with Angelica.   2. I too have 6 months to go and everything feels like it is starting to come really fast! I have gone back and forth with myself on creating my own centerpieces but I finally came to the conclusion that by the time I buy all the supplies, screw up a few, and have them shipped to the resort, I would have been better off paying Planner1 Events to make them for me. I have enlisted them to make these for $66 each (my color is the blue the resort offers.) I will bring my own LED tealight candles in votives. I also purchased real white starfish that I will place at each table setting as a party favor/decor. But otherwise, I was given good advice that the beach and resort are so beautiful that you don't have to spend too much on additional decor. I actually went to a friends destination wedding 6 months ago in Cozumel and, to be honost, she didn't have hardly anthing in the way of decor and no one really seemed to notice because of the setting.
  3. @Danitree- I'm just using my ipod with the resorts sound system so I can control the music. I'm a little nervous about doing this but the DJ just wasn't in our budget!
  4. I have a question concerning tipping. For traditional weddings it is customary to tip15-20% for everyone providing a service. However, the resort packages everything together for one price. How much are you planning to tip the wedding coordinator? 20% of my package cost would be almost $1000!

  6. Hey girls, I just wanted to add a little bit regarding the cost of the wedding. I'm starting to get a little bit annoyed with the way things are adding up. I asked for the Paradise package which basically is supposed to include just about everything, from hair and makeup, to the ceremony, to the reception dinner for 40 people. For starters, the wedding coordinators send me all the information piecemill, several days apart. Their brochures are so disorganized, it's so frustrating. Some are in spanish, some in English. The Spanish brochures have slightly different information than the English brochures. Also, if you want anything personalized for the wedding, such as votive candles on the reception tables, they will charge you. $3/votive. It doesn't sound like much but they seriously charge you for every stinking thing! I wanted to have my bouquet out of ranunculus and they said it would cost me $250! Anything else you want to personalize, they referred me to Event 1 Planners. Also, I asked for the wedding to be held at sunset (before I realized the sun sets behind the resort.) Initially, that's what I thought I was getting but instead they are now telling me that the wedding is at 4pm-4:30pm. 4:30-5pm pictures, 5-6 champagne toast, 6-9 reception. Not horrible, but not what I really wanted. I'm just bringing up these points because you should ask lots and lots of questions and get lots and lots of cost information before you agree to put down your deposit. You should also expect that becuase there is a language barrier, they often do not answer the question you asked. I have had to get my spanish speaking co-worker to call them for me so I can get the answer I really want! GOOD LUCK!

  8. I'm officially going to be a OCT bride March of next year! I'm soo excited I'm probably getting way ahead of myself with the planning but I can't help it! I really want to see those JB and DJ pics but the password won't work for me. Any suggestions?
