I had the pleasure of reading so many great, romantic proposals so I wanted to share mine. Ian and I met in High school and started dating our senior year. After High school, we went to different colleges and even for a couple years we went to colleges more than 2 hours apart. We stayed together through college, started our careers and moved in together. After 8 years of dating still no proposal. Finally, June 2010, I was getting ready for our big Kindergarten Graduation (I'm a Kindergarten Teacher), Ian told me that he had a busy day as well. He said, "I might be home late I have an important meeting today that I real nervous about." I said "Don't worry about it, your going to do great!" Then, I left for work. Kindergarten Graduation takes a lot of planning, we set it up like a high school graduation except they know how to stand in alphabetical order, I need to make sure the Kindergarten kids stay in and stand on stage in alphabetical order. Graduation was perfect, we had 8 Kindergarten classes with around 200 students graduating. At the end of graduation our building principal honored a few of our teachers who were retiring and then called me up on stage. She wanted to honor me for a grant that I had applied for and received. When I walked on stage, the principal began to say to me, "Heidi we have something very special for you." I didn't even register what she said to me because I saw Ian walking out on stage and I couldn't figure out why he was there. Then immediately he was down on one knee, I could barely see him through my tears. To me, it was the most perfect proposal. I was extremely lucky that he did it in front our families, who was hiding in the audience, and 200 students parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts/uncles and whom ever else they brought. I was able to get so many pictures and even videos of the proposal. If you want to see the video, just go on you tube and type in Ians proposal. Yes, we chose July because unfortunately, here in Pa, we often lose our days off in June due to weather. Furthermore, once we hit August I'm back in my classroom setting it back up, so July is our best time to go.
