  2. Fit and flare gown with sweetheart neckline with corset closure. Demir Stretch Satin provides sleek luster to this slender silhouette. Ruching envelopes the bodice and asymmetrically plummets below the waist, while the train pours into a gorgeous balloon hem. Original value of $1200. This gown is an excellent price. I purchased the dress nwt and the only alterations made were the side bustle which is optional to use. The color is the beautiful white which as you can see grabs the light and will make you look gorgeous on your wedding. Worn once for my wedding but has been professionally dry cleaned. Free shipping in the US.

Did anyone use or is using an outside source to help? Bring down your own decorations? I wanted candles at my table but the hotel is statin there is a charge of $60 per table to light them... Can I just light them??

We brought some of our own decorations...we brought our own centerpieces. Where are you having your reception? If outside, it's way too windy to have real candles. We used flameless candles and it was perfect.

  4. SO exciting that you are already there! What a fab idea to find items in cancun. I love that! I hope that my planning is finished by the end of May so I can relax and shop in June, and no worries! You were working with Nayeli, right? She is sooooo difficult to work with thus far! I hope once you get there everything is all ironed out and goes perfectly!!! Any tips for getting thru the next 2 months with her? lol Also, and this is for all brides, what did you use as centerpieces/card cages, decor, etc?  Thanks everyone, and thanks for all the great info danak :) I will have to check the website out and have fun kicking off those 4" heels!!
I got the idea from May12 up here and SO glad we did it! We got really cute canvas beach bags that say Cancun (all different designs and colors) for $2 each, maracas for $2.50 each and hand painted margarita glasses for $4 each. I've been working with Nayeli but she's been awesome for me. I tried to send her a lot of questions at once and while I waited for her to respond I worked on other things. If there was an answer I needed right away then I called her from my phone or ipad via Skype and it cost me about $.10/min. She and i have exchanged countless emails over the past year. Right before I left Atlanta I sent her ONE email with EVERYTHING we talked about over the past year so we would both have it all in one place. Everything I requested, everything she consented to, any concessions she made, any out of the ordinary requests, etc. I broke it down for her by day and activity. If you'd like to see a copy of the email I sent her, PM your email address to me and I'll forward it to you. I have 7 tables plus our sweetheart table. I have round glass mirrors I'm putting on the center of each table. In the center of the mirror is our table number which is printed on vellum paper rolled in a cylinder with a flameless tealight inside. All of our table numbers bear some significance. For instance, table 21 has a large 21 printed in the middle and underneath is printed "The day in April Marcus proposed". I purchased some square glass vases from Dollar Tree (2 per table) that will go on either side of the table number. In them I'm putting shells or rocks, flowers and a submersible tea light. On the outside of the mirror I will have 4 tealight holders with flameless teallight candles. Pretty simple but I brought everything with me and it cost me about $150 total for what I needed for 7 tables. Good luck with your last 2 months of planning. We check into Excellence tomorrow so if there's anything anyone needs me to communicate to Nayeli let me know. We meet with her at 9am!
  5. So we're in Mexico already (got here yesterday). We came early to buy the OOT bags and some authentic things to put in them. We're staying in a condo in downtown Cancun we rented and checking into Excellence Wednesday. This week is actually pretty calm. I finished my planning the end of March and basically went shopping for clothes for the trip in April. My mom, one of my hostesses and one of my bridesmaids came down early with us to help shop for OOT bag items and put it together. It's been a HUGE help. As far as the foot jewelry, yes it's a sole less sandal. All bling for me and I bought some different ones for my bridesmaids and hostesses as well since we're getting married on the beach. I purchased some purple shoes (my wedding color) to wear for the reception. I also purchased some REALLY cute flip flops from www.theaccessorybarn.com to wear from the room to the beach and then when I'm ready to kick off those 4" purple heels. LOL My mom also bought some flip flops from The Accessory Barn to wear with her dress and they're really cute too. Their prices were really reasonable. I got my foot jewelry on ebay but I got the jewelry for my bridesmaids from a shop on Etsy. Let me know if you'd like the name.

Thanks danak!!! OMG this SATURDAY!!!!! What does this week look like for you? Stressed or calm? So what do you mean by foot jewelry? I am seeing a lot of really cool stuff on etsy, but the sandals are sole-less.. is that what you're doing? My dress is hemmed for a flat and I want to do a decorative "sole-less" sandal, but what to do for reception, walk to the beach, etc.. Any advice or thoughts are appreciated :))

I'm worried eveything is going to look clearly like it was a DIY. I have no problem redoing it if it does, I'd rather do that and have it look perfect! I wasn't sure about the gray ribbon. But white just didn't look quite right with the ivory flowers/dress, and we couldn't find the perfect shade of ivory.

I think those look REALLY pretty and I wouldn't have known they weren't really if you hadn't said it. They look real to me. I also like the gray ribbon.

YES! We leave for Mexico on April 27 (3 weeks!!!) My bridal shower is tomorrow and bachelorette party is next weekend...such an exciting time!

Anyway, I have emailed the spa and made appointments but I have also Skyped them and talked to them directly. Email is great but I'm old fashioned and like personal interaction. :-)

I picked up handkerchiefs for FMIL (she is a crier), my grandmother, and my dad from Etsy that I have special messages on.  Do I pass these out at rehearsal or day of?  I am thinking day of...  For the girls I ordered the personalized hangers, and I would like to find foot jewelery... any ideas?  My grandmother gave me a pearl necklace that my grandfather gave to her.  So special, something borrowed will be a matching pearl bracelet... Something blue I grabbed this garter

For treats for my guests when they arrive..... emergen-c, altoids minis, sanitizer wipes, shout wipes, motrin

I have some cute glass jars that are small... not sure what to do with them. And, small organza bags that were 50 for $5 at Michaels on clearance!

I still need to make hair appointments, I would like to find personalized cups, I need to figure out what to do for bags.  I think we will have 35-40 people and I am running out of $$!  Any bargain bags that I can personalize?  I need to figure out if I want runners, and what to do for candles!  Lastly, I need mini tequila bottles ( I will attach name and table name), picture frames for tables....  Ahhhhh...  someone do this for me :)  And, I need to go fake tanning I think.

Its hard to believe I started this thread so long ago!  I am glad we are such a great support team, and have helped each other out!  Only about 1 month to GO....

I got my foot jewelry from a girl on Etsy THEDAYSGOBY...

We worked together and she made 5 sets for me (all different) EXACTLY the way I wanted them. They came out beautifully!

Hahahaha...it just kept evolving. Every time Marcus turned around I had added something else! LOL

I forgot I'm including Emergen-C packets in the Oh Sh*t Kits....I got all of the stuff for the kit on ebay for really cheap which helped!

We got personalized tumblers and key holders ... I don't know if I should do canvas bags.  I worry that guests won't use them past the wedding or they bring their own beach bags anyways.

Our final count is 51 guests. We're purchasing totes when we get to Mexico for each person (thought I could negotiate for nicer bags at a better rate there than on a website) and we're filling it with:

    1. Custom doorhangers we had made (1 per room)

    2. Itinerary

    3. Welcome Letter

    4. Oh Sh*t Kit (with tums, bandaid, advil, shout wipe, hangover recipe)

    5. Cute glass bottles with cork stoppers filled with sand from the beach and custom favor tag tied to it (guests will pour a little of the sand into our sand ceremony frame and then have the rest to keep)

    6. Love Butter with favor tag (body butter that my cousin makes herself and is giving us to put in all the guests bags). It has shea butter in it and also is a natural sunblock

    7. Small bottle of Hendricks Gin (my fiance's last name) with mixer and a cute note.

    8. Room key/tip holder

    9. Cigars for the guys

We're also picking up handpainted margarita glasses that will be at each place setting at the reception and handpainted maracas.

We're taking our wedding party and participants to the spa for the hydrotherapy/aqua wellness session (Girls in one group and guys in another) and we're taking all the guests on a private catamaran for a day.

In addition, I hosted a bridesmaid luncheon for my girls and my mom and gave the girls foot jewelry that I had made from someone on Etsy and a framed photo of me and them. The frame served as their place setting at the luncheon and I'm planning to have wedding photos of me and each of them to replace that picture after the wedding. The guys got custom cufflinks.

We're doing programs but I don't think that you HAVE to necessarily. Here is ours...

I wanted to have my ceremony there as well! But I didn't like the fact that our backs would be to the ocean...that was a severe design flaw in my opinion. So we'll be on the beach. LOL (Not to mention Nayeli said it was best with 40 people or less and we have 55).

Is it worth paying to have a band or better to bring an ipod dock?

We are having our reception at the CECO Terrace. We have about 55 people in our party so we weren't sure if an ipod dock would be loud enough. One of Fi's friends is coming now and he DJ's professionally so he's going to DJ for us and we're just renting speakers from a local company so we don't have to lug speakers down with us.

I think with that amount of people an ipod dock should be fine! That's what we're planning to use at our Welcome Reception at the X-Lounge.

Are you girls getting your hair and make-up done at the salon? I know it is included in my package, but I'm thinking I might just do it myself. I am a make-up guru and control freak. I like high quailty make-up, especially when photos are being taken.  Anyone know what kind of make-up is used? air burshed? humm.... Thanks!!

I'm having my hair and makeup done at the resort. My wedding isn't until May 4, but I've sent countless messages to the spa! LOL

They use MAC makeup and it's traditional not airbrushing.

  15. Very cute! I like that you get a bit of height too. I'm short so this would work well. Just checked the site. LOVE THE PRICES!! I like the cute dresses too. Lol. ...i'm so not focused!
My mom and I both purchased a pair from the site (hers were flats with bling) and they look awesome in person. The customer service was great. We had to send both pairs back for the next larger size because they seemed to run a little small but the owner was great and sent the new pairs out really quickly.

How many people are in your group? I have heard of them putting tables together for a semi-private dinner in one of the restaurants. We have 53 people in our group so we are paying for the private dinner for the reception. But we didn't want to pay for an additional private dinner, so she's putting tables together for 30 of us for the Rehearsal Dinner (which we won't have to pay extra for).
