  1. that is horrible! so sorry to hear this happened to you. Please keep us posted on what happens. It's a little strange they claim to be overbooked since recent reviews on Trip Advisor say the place is practically empty. I highly doubt a bunch of people reserved before February when you did and you would think if reservations need to be cancelled, a wedding would have priority over random people. Contact corporate, good luck!
  2. Hey Ev, That sounds amazing except I'm not sure if it would work with some of the popular outside photographers that I am sure they have seen before then again why should they care the room will be paid for 3 days anyway..Definately save that email! Hope the other coordinators are not giving conflicting info.
  3. Just to clarify, I like the Gabi Restaurant in PPR. I know there is one in Paradisus Punta Cana as well. I have not done a site visit, A coworker had her wedding there and when I saw her pics I thought to myself "THIS is my place" . The typical destination weddings on the beach with starfish and such are not really my style. I want to have a wedding in DR because that is where my family is from and of course cheaper than having a wedding here in NY but I still wanted something luxurious. I've been lurking on this site and the GABI at PPR is the only reception location I have seen that fits my vision...talk about champagne taste with a beer budget haha! I'm new to all this but I think if I choose a really pretty location I wont have to spend as much on decor to dress it up.
  4. OMG! Thank you so much for all this info! I had no idea you couldnt use a package if you planned to privatize a restaurant. I'm already picturing my Fiance's face when I try to explain all this to him. He is definately more frugal than I am. Ugh, how the hell am I already stressed, this is only the beginning! I know having it at Jellyfish restaurant would be so much cheaper but I am in love with the Gabi Restaurant. :-(
  5. Hello Maribel, Thank you for posting the link to the picasa album. When you say the flower arrangements are expensive, how expensive are they? lol What would you say is the average cost? I am in the early stages of planning my wedding and still going back and forth between Paradisus Palma Real and the jellyfish restaurant. If I choose PPR, I would privatize Gabi Restaurant which I already know would be an extra 9K and I MUST have big, full, flower centerpeices. Just wondering with all the costs of the extras, how much should I expect to spend :-/ Thanks
  6. Ev- Your dress looks Amazing! fits you like a glove. Thank God for this forum! Hope you are able to resist showing your dress to people until your wedding, I can imagine everyone's jaw dropping :-)
  7. Hello Ladies, Can any past bride or anyone who has visited the resort tell me if top shelf/international alcohol is part of the all inclusive for everyone or is this a perk for someone staying at the Reserve or Royal Service?? Also, do guests that stay at The Reserve have access to all the restaurants and pools or are they limited to just the ones in the Reserve? Thank you so much! -Keila
