  1. Hey Ladies - Can't believe it is almost a month since I left for my wedding.  It was a wonderful experience and I have

one big suggestion to those that like to dance: budget the cost of an additional hour for the reception.

Thankfully we did budget time, though I would have been so sad if we had to stop after the 3 hours.  The time flew even with them serving food during toasts and our dance, per our request to keep things moving.

Does anyone have a price list of the resorts spa for hair and make-up? I'm thinking of doing my own make-up but then having the spa do hair...not sure yet.. (decisions, decisions...) ha!

Here is the price list that I received earlier in the year.  Contact the following email addresses to book early.  I leave on Monday and can't wait for our 6/7/13 wedding and sure hope the weather holds out for our outdoor events!!!

I agree , I think I am going to go with the spanish guitar , I had assumed i was going to pick the violin first but now thinking about it it seems natural and keeping with the natural spanish theme.

Also Is anyone doing a mid reception entertainment , My FI is Italian and most weddings here have Italian dancers or some form of entertainment is expected . I had already planned on getting the mariatchi band to play as we left the church , but spanish dancers would be intresting for the reception

    Thanks for any input

It is probably good to not go with with violin since I have read it can be hard to hear depending on the waves and number of people.  We are going with the sax, we will see what happens.  My WC was nice enough to send me a list of a few songs that the person already knows that we can choose from.  Had to go to you tube to hear some of them, but there were a lot of great choices.  Oddly enough, lots of Beatles.  Congrats!

Brides who have already planned the ceremony! Help!! I hadn't been asked ANYTHING about who we want to marry us, or what we want said, so I asked this in my last email to Victoria...

Do we need to talk about the ceremony itself and who will be performing this? We would like a minister for the symbolic ceremony (not a legal ceremony). When do we need to plan this?[Victoria Vazquez]  yes , is a symbolic ceremony and the minister have your ceremony only if you have your own vows or something special for say is okay

Does anyone understand this answer?? I'm super anxious about the fact that I don't know the person who will be marrying us, and I don't know what will be said...ugh....and Victoria doesn't seem to recognize that I need a detailed list/writeup of EXACTLY what is going to be said.

What are past experiences? Anyone know of a specific minister who was good??

I talked with Claudia my planner and she gave me the email address of the person performing the ceremony and they reponded back to me with questions and asked what we wanted to have included.  Ask for the contact info of the person performing and they can help you.

I too would love a definite answer for this! We have 27 people, and I would love to have one long table as opposed to a few rounds.

Claudia stated the biggest they like to make one big table is 30, so you should be fine.  They do have photos so you can get an idea.  From what it looks like they put two tables side-by-side so I am not sure how easy it would be to talk with people accross from you.  Hope this helps.

  8. I love the welcome Mrs. Nova.  Did any past brides use the hotel transporation (private or shared)?  I am specifically wondering about the shared.  We have some single women and older people flying along and I wanted to know if it was easy to find the correct vehicle.  Did they have name signs or company signs?  I would hate to have people get in the wrong vehicle.  Anyone use car seats?  I am going to call about the car seats because I hate to bring them down for only the transfers.  With less than three months away it is getting stressful!!  So excited!

    Hello Brides...and now wives,

Reading all your comments has been so very helpful!! I have a few questions. At what point did you start planning where the wedding ceremony and reception is at? My wedding is June 12, 2013 I tried planning things with my WC mooooonths ago however they told me they deal with a lot of weddings and they would contact me in the new year. It is now almost march and I finally got someone to respond to me yesterday. I am concerned I will not have my choice for venues. For those of you that have the strawberry package where did you have the reception??

I would send an email asking about starting the process.  My wedding date is 6/7/13 and am on step 5, which is picking flowers, with my contact Claudia.  Don't stress though, they have you confirmed you will move along.  Best suggestion I got, send emails with very brief and few questions.  They don't like to respond to long paragraphs or multiple questions in one email.  I can go a week or more without talking with her but we still move forward.  We are staying there until the 10th so maybe we could arrange drinks to celebrate the weddings! Good luck!

  10. The dance floor information is so helpful to know and help my budget.  I am still deciding on inside or outside wedding since we will have about 50 people, meaning a couple thousand dollar difference.  Was it hard to have people staying in different properties, same resort but not having access to the Palace area?  We are looking at a group rate for the Palace, which is reasonable but I didn't know if it would make a difference to offer a cheaper option for those that might want to stay longer at one of the other areas.  How did you get everyone from the airport to the hotel?  We have many guests who are not good travelers and I will have to arrange some transportation for them before the are "attacked" by the time share sellers & other transporation people at the Cancun airport.  They would be easy targets.  So many questions, but so super helpful!!!

  11. Great play list!  Did the ipod system have a charger?  My old ipod doesn't hold a charge long and would hate for it to die while in the middle of all the fun.  Also, with the reception on the beach did you get the dance floor or extra lights?  The dance floor rates are crazy expensive.  Right now I am still deciding on the Barcelo or Moon Palace and this would be so helpful to know!!! You looked beautiful, in the few photos I saw.  You are a great help to the newby planning.

  12. I love all the support everyone is offering in on MP, I don't know how I would have made my decision of MP without all your help.  Now that we have made the decision I wasn't sure what types of room rates people are getting.  My last quote for 10 rooms was about $350 for a couple.  The wedding will be in June 7, 2013 so I would think that being the more rainy time of year the rates might be a little better but I thought I would get everyone else's thoughts.  Can't wait to share this journey with so many of you.

  13. I am a June 7, 2013 bride.  The waiting isn't fun, though since this is my second I am just going with the flow.  You are in Mexico right, at least that is what I keep telling my brain who wants to plan every single detail.  We hope for the semi private area in Baja Norte with the dance floor right off the dining.  We will see how many are coming first.
