  1. Hope you are able to find maracas too! I am sure there has to be some out there somewhere. I think Claudia is fairly new. I was told a few weeks ago she was taking over for Angelica. I am sure everything will work out fine. Congrats and good luck!

  5. Hi Laura, Those maracas turned out great! I wish I had more time. I doubt I would be able to order those in two weeks. I think I am going to plan a trip to playa. Atleast if I can't get maracas I am sure i would be able to get my hands on something else. The table setting looks amazing. That is so great to see that they added in those extra touches. That helps to see how it could look without center pieces. You are right, with all the glasses and plates, you don't miss them. We don't want to pay for them either. I feel like the ones they offered were pretty expensive for what they were and it's only a few hours for the reception. Thanks so much for your help. I will let you know if I have more questions. 7. Hi Nancy, What a small world! I will forsure have a review when i return. So far I will give you what we have decided on. We went with the paradise package, I really wanted a more private reception and there will be 33 of us going. We selected the lobby Terrace as our ceremony and reception location. If the beach was completly private I would have done the ceremony there. I booked Sascha Gluck as my photographer. I have heard great things about him through a few brides in these threads and love his work. So far i don't intend to bring too much down with me. We are staying an extra week so i already will have to bring enough stuff for two weeks, plus my dress. I am hoping i will be able to get a few little touches in town or see what the resort can add. It sounds like they do a few little extras that most people don't expect. Good luck with all your planning!

  9. hey Ladies, We leave in 16 days for Mexico and we are sooooo excited. I feel like I still have so much to do, but I am confident that when I have my appointment when I arrive everything will be sorted out. I really want to do maracas as guest favors, and I feel it only makes sense to buy them in Mexico. I know that I can probably get these in Playa del carmen, but I was wondering if anyone has been to Puerto morelos and knows if that is something we would be able to find there. OR did anyone else do maracas and can tell me where to get them? I am also unsure of center pieces at this point. I asked what the resort had to offer and what they sent was floral arrangements and they were quite pricy for the size and i didn't love them. I didn't want to have to bring anything with me as I already have quite a bit to bring. Did anyone get anything down there? If so what did you do? Thanks so much!

  11. Hey Ladies, I was filling out the registration form for the marriage license and it asks for two witness for bride and two for groom. I just want to confirm if myself and husband to be need two witnesses each... I want to know if this is mandatory or optional. Thanks!
  12. Hi @hlyon29 that is so exciting! It sounds like we will even be on the same flight! From what I understand there is only one flight that day, what a small world! I really haven't had much contact with the resort since November. Not because they haven't responded, but because I haven't contacted them too much, I actually meet a girl through some friends who got married at OCT last spring and said she (Ana/Paula) didn't really need answers on things she wanted until a few weeks before. I have decided wedding decided on package, we went with the paradise. wedding and reception location which is the lobby Terrace. However, I am starting to think about possibly doing the reception at le petite crepier. How far have you got with your planning? I am a little stuck on the extra decor. I feel like the obvious things are called out like flowers, cake, dinner. but, I wish I knew how much they would charge for some extras like center pieces, paper lanterns etc and what types of things they can do. I am not sure at this point how much I want to bring down with me, but i don't want to spend alot to rent stuff. are you hiring a photographer? If so are you using the resorts or are you looking at an outside one. I cant make up my mind on the photographer, i am stuck between two that are in mexico. Juan Navarro and Ivan Luckie. If you want, send me a private message and we can chat some more. Good luck! Guilaine
  13. Hi Leahbecker, I am glad you brought up the paper lanterns. I have been meaning to ask Ana about those. Our reception is on the lobby terrace and I bought about 20 large lanterns from ikea and I was hoping I can have them hang them and put lights through them. Do you know if they have lights available that we can use (don't want to bring lights too). I have seen through other posts that brides have had lights with or without lanterns and i was curious if they brought them or if the resort had them. If you have any info on this that would be great. PS. I met a girl last week who got married at OCT last May and she said everything was exactly how she wanted. Once she got to the resort Ana spent alot of time with them sorting everything out. She was also nervous before hand since she hadn't heard from Ana too much, but it all worked out. Hope that eases you a bit. Good luck with the wedding
  14. Hi Josie! That's what I was thinking, but thanks for confirming! Thanks, Guilaine
  15. Hi Ladies! Wondering if some one could help answer a question about the wedding Registration form. I figure i would get a quicker answer from someone here who has already filled it out. The part that reads "under which marital property system you want to be married"? A) Community property system or Common Law property system. We are doing a legal ceremony. Can someone please tell me what these mean and which i should be choosing. Thanks so much!
  16. Hey Ladies, I wanted to get some clarification/ opinions on the different types of rooms. My family and friends have been asking me and I am getting confused with all the different things I am reading and want to make sure I understand them correctly. My contract for my guests are "junior suites" and if they wish to upgrade they may. I heard previously they are all considered "Ocean View" in the sense that nothing faces the other side of the resort. Is this true? Looking at some of the pics is looks like some could be inner facing rooms though. Also, what is considered a "Junior suite deluxe Ocean view"? Is it looking straight out to the ocean or just facing and you may see part of it depending on where your room is located? I read that the "Junior suite privilege" has a view of the pool area in the privilege area. Is that true? Lastly has anyone stayed in the "Honey moon suite" or any of the "master suites"? If so, can you please tell me your experience with these rooms and if it was worth the money? We are leaning towards the "Honey money suite", but i haven't seen the pricing on it yet. Thanks for your help!
  17. @FutureMrsMT- We are totally going to be wedding buddies! We are arriving on the 28th, getting Married on the 2nd and leaving the 5th. It's crazy how many weddings this resort does. It doesn't seem like they ever have down time. I am sooooo excited too. We just sent our official invitations out this week so now I can get more into the fun stuff. We are also doing the paradise package. I have not made any selections yet on any flowers, cake or anything else. Now that my invites are done I am going to be able to focus on that. The only thing we have selected is ceremony and reception location and we chose the lobby terrace for both, but I have been sort of interested in "le petit creperie" for the reception now. How far are you in the planning process right now with the resort?
  18. @JosieFiorda- I didn't know that. Just wanted to make sure this wasn't something that should have been included in the price. Don't know how I missed that. At least I found out now and not when I got there. Good to know on the changing of options/ upgrades. I was thinking once I figure out exactly what I want, I was going to send a picture of what I had in mind for flowers lets say, then that way they can see exactly what I want. Thanks for your help

  20. Hey Ladies, Just got my package from the resort with the flower, cake options and locations. Has anyone modify anything here such as flowers, cake. If so was it an extra charge? I think I am Ok with the white calla lilies, but would like to see what other people did. For the cake, not crazy about the flowers or ribbons they used! Are they usually good about adjusting them to the colours, flowers you prefer or is it exactly what you see. On another note, something strange they told me I never heard was that "the transportation fee for the justice of the peace and the apostille seal for the marriage certification are not include in the wedding package, it has an extra charge of 70usd each, and so this payment must be in cash and will be paid upon arrival to the wedding coordinator." I never heard anyone talk about this in the threads, unless i totally missed it. Is this true? I picked the Paradise package so i thought all of that was included.
  21. @Danitree- Thanks for giving me Ana's email. Good thing I checked because the one I had was .com. I just found out that my planner is actually not Ana and it's Paula. I haven't heard too much about Paula through the threads. I hope she is as good as Ana. Has anyone worked with Paula? I will keep in mind that the length of response time could take a while. I kinda wondered if closer too the wedding is when you get more of the attention for planning. Good luck with all your planning! Thanks for the info! Guilaine
  22. @andecker23- Thanks for the tip! That totally makes sense. When I first starting looking into doing a destination wedding I spoke with a TA and right off the bat she said " I am not a wedding planner, I am a TA". From that point on I realized that they don't really want to be involved in anything other than planning the trip (some TA's might be different). The lady I am working with is through "Destination Weddings" she has been great, but she also said once we book, I deal with the resort on all the planning and she only gets involved if there are any issues. A little nervous about the communication, but from reading past threads it sounds like everyone else has done just fine. Would you happen to have Ana's email. I only have the one for the resort and I have tried it, but never got a response. Good luck with everything
  23. Hi Ashleigh, Thanks for your feedback! Someone must have been listening to my rant because, I actually have some good news! I pushed back and said I was not happy with that time and I found out this morning that they were able to moved it to 4:00! I am so happy! I really was not feeling right about that time and didn't know what else I would do. I have officially booked now and my wedding date is May 2nd at 4:00 on the lobby terrace! Now the process begins! Can't wait to start working with Ana. Thanks again and good luck with your planning
  24. Hey ladies, I need some help! I am really having a hard time getting my wedding date and week nailed down. Nothing seems to be working out! We were set on the week we wanted to go and then found out it was moved a day ahead. I wasn't super thrilled, but not the end of the world. After that to be safe I decided before we booked officially to confirm if we could get the wedding location and time we would like, and I am glad I did! The resort is telling my TA that they only have one day available with the time of 6:30 pm for the week of April 28th- May 5! My concern is the time, I wanted 4:00pm at the latest. I know the sun goes down really early there and i am afraid we will not be able to do pics after the ceremony of me and my soon to be husband. I do not want to do pics before, I want him to see me for the first time walking down the aisle. Are there any brides out there that have already or will be getting married at that time? Just want to know what others have experienced with doing a later ceremony time. Any feed back would be awesome. Thanks
  25. I bought a Epson all in one ink jet printer to do mine and I have had no problems printing it myself. I have heard the same thing about Laser printers and that some papers don't work with it. Most are fine with Ink jet though. Definitely recommend testing, that would tell you for sure.
