  1. Fellow brides: first, I just wanted to apologize for not introducing myself and just posting to this thread. To be honest, I got so excited by all the information (some of the same struggles/challenges/questions) posted on this forum, I just jumped in and started asking questions!! I just could not believe I found this site! So much great information and everyone seems so friendly and helpful. We are getting married in Now Jade on Dec 8th, 2012. We just secured the wedding date with Pilar for Dec 8th and opted for the Divine Package, and now we are working on the room reservations/contract. MRS-UPS: in regards to your post -- Reception is going to be in the Castaway restaurant - I would love any pics/info/questions about this. I think it is going to be a great space. We are probably going to have 40-60 guests and are going to do the Divine package. Were you able to get pics of castaways? I have some, and I am happy to share. Let me know.
  2. Thanks so much for the info and the quick reply!! We got the Divine Package - which is the most expensive one. I agree with you about the flowers - much more expensive than I anticipated. As you know, the bride's bouquets range from $80 to $350 (ouch) and the Centerpieces range from $65 to $230 (ouch again). We anticipate that we will have approximately 40 guests (possible maybe even 50-60; we are inviting close to 90), so to get 4 centerpieces for the 4 tables gets costl really fast. The bride bouquet that comes with the package is okay, but nothing stunning, and I feel that it should be a nice bouquet since it's going to be in the pictures. Thanks for the recommendation (website) I will definitely check it out; more importantly thanks for the advice on waiving the vendor fee. Just to be clear: in order for Pilar to waive the vendor fee, you have opted out of any/ALL the flowers that were part of the wedding package? lastly, did you guys get a wedding package or was are you doing everything a la carte? and just paying for the items you are interested in? At this point, I hear good things about the food, and if you get lucky, good things about the photographers/videographers assigned by the resort. I think the flowers are very highly priced as is the "deluxe set up for the ceremony" ($15 per chair - just for the chair covers, bow and flower?). I think the cost of $4 per color napkin is a bit steep too - if we have 40 guest, that's $160 just in napins cost! hahaha (not really). I am sure you have done the calculations and the math, so you are aware. If you have the time, I'd greatly appreciate any additional info you can share...really, much appreciated. This has been (so far) a little overwhelming. Be well. Thanks
  3. Hi everyone- reading through the posts, I feel the same exact way. Pillar seems very nice, but there's a lag when it comes to response time. We are getting married in Dec 2012 (Jade Now) and I still dont feel like I have all the options and facts. At this point, I am not sure what is and what is not included in the package. Inititally I thought that the DJ was included in the package (someone we know got married there in July 2011 and their package included the DJ), but I think it does not? Pillar responded to a few questions I had and included a price/quote for the DJ, so now I'm unclear. As far as the flowers, I also thought that the package included the flowers, is that not the case? I have so many questions and to some extent, I feel alittle iffy - since I feel like I dont have all the facts and options straight. I am relieved to feel that others are equally as fuzzy... Any information about the DJ, photographer, flowers, hair and make up would be GREATLY appreciated. I too will share any/all information with all on this forum. Thanks guys!
