Does anyone know the locations of Seaside Grill compared to Oceana? What are our options for receptions? Has anyone had their Wedding there and have a opinion.. Sorry for all the questions but the WC isn't getting back to me LOL not to shocking after reading this thread. I just want to know all of my options for the reception. THANKS!!
Hello jcksiano!
I had my reception in the Seaside Grill and i think it would be prefect for a group of 20-25 people.
Here is a couple of pictures of my reception in the Seaside Grill
The pool terrace isnt very private but looks beautiful when they set it all up.
This a picture i found on the internet (I was going to have my reception on the pool terrace but change my mind)
Happy Planning

Hello.. Yes you can use the dance floor on the beach and no there is no extra charge for white napkins and table clothsHi!! I was just wondering if anybody had any advice on timings for an October wedding? From what I've been reading I was thinking the north beach for the ceremony at 4.30pm, cocktail hour at the north jacuzzi area at 6.00pm and the reception on the south beach at 7.30pm?. I'm not sure if these times will give us enough daylight for photos etc. And this may sound like a silly questions but do they still charge for plain white table cloths and napkins?. Oh and the last question for now, can we still have the dance floor if the reception is on the beach?. Thank youuu  -
Hello! I got married April 19th and all 35 of my guests stayed in a different resort.. Your guests (or you if you wish to pay?) will purchase a wedding day pass, $55 each. This makes them all inclusive at Dreams for there stay.. So they can get a drink from any of the bars. They can arrive 2 hours before the ceremony. I think most of my guests turned up 3 hours before, and I don't think it was problem. $48 is just for the reception dinner, you also have to purchase a wedding day pass for guests not staying at Dreams. These were my times.. Hope they help 4.30. North Beach Ceremony 5.00-5.30 Group Photographs 6.30-7.30 North Beach Cocktail Hour 7.30-10.30 Seaside Grill Reception After the reception we had a couple of drinks in the lobbyHi All Having just got engaged, we are in the process of booking our wedding. We are looking to book DRC for end of may 2014, and having read all your reviews and comments I hope we are making the right choice. All the posts have certainly answered a lot of our queries without having to ring the resort every 5 mins. One question that I don't seem to be able to find is We are hoping to have approx 60 to 70 guests, my family are coming from the UK and will be staying at Dreams resort and Esther's family will be coming from other parts of Mexico and also staying at Dreams. The question is, we have a fair few friends that won't be staying at Dreams but just coming to the wedding . We are looking at having the Ultimate package which includes 20 guests. For the extra guests we have to pay $48 per person. What time can these extra guests come into the hotel resort ? Is the $48 only for the reception ? Or is this the cost of them entering the resort ? Can they drink, all inclusive for the time they are at the hotel ? Or does it only allow them to drink at the reception ? A lot of people have said they didn't have the cocktail hour and that their guests waited at the pool bar while pics etc were being taken, does this mean that these guests not staying at the hotel can use the bar as part of the $48 or do they have to pay for their drinks ( obviously not a problem for hotel residents as they are all inclusive) We are looking at getting married at 4pm, after service and pictures etc, I presume it will only be about 6- 6.30pm, what time did most people, or are most people starting their reception ? The package gives the reception at 3 hours, and extra charge for each hour over this, this would mean if we didn't pay for extra time , we would be over and done by by 9pm !!!!!!!! if people's reception is starting around 8pm what are or did most people do in between ? Think I have confused myself now !!!!! Hope someone might be able to help us Esther and Richard -
Hello Ladies!

Then, at 3 months to the day we got an email of a wedding packet (most of which we already had) and it assigned us our planner Georgina.
Great I thought! Finally! Well.. no such luck. Our confirmation has the time off and also a charge for the Seaside Grill which is not on our original confirmation, So I sent Georgina an email... nothing. My fiance emailed her... nothing. We both have emailed the DJ... nothing. I emailed the spa... nothing. We are 10 weeks out and we have nothing, literally nothing, but the trip booked and times and locations (which are not 100% right).
I quickly realized that the packet email we got was received 3 months to the very date of our wedding and it is probably something automatically generated. We started emailing beginning of April and have heard nothing ever again. In fact I have not hear anything since we left our deposit.
I am now going to begin calling and I am so out of mind angry at this resort it is not even funny. I haven't even gotten there yet and I don't think I could recommend this place to anyone due to the horrible horrible horrible planning. I am a second time bride. Honestly, I am not obsessed or emailing them over paper lanterns or cake flowers... I know that stuff can be worked out there. But my reception time being wrong..? Charges I didnt know about? A DJ that is not answering? Hair/Makeup appts I cant get made? I have truly had it. It is ruining this whole experience for me.
Hello Kerrimaxwell,
I had the same promblem with the seaside grill. Evangelina offered it to me for free but Georgina didnt know anything about this arrangement!
Just forward the email from Evangelina confirming you can use the seaside grill for free and put High Importance in the subject bar. Dont worry Georgina is lovely. she will sort it out Do the same with your emails to the DJ and Spa (High Importance)

Hello.. We had our reception in the Seaside Grill. At first Gina wanted $800 to use the Seaside Grill, but I got it for free in the end because only the pool terrace was available and I really didn't want my reception there.. It took a lot of emails to get it for free. I didn't also tell her I knew past brides had used it for free! For those that received a "credit" for not having a cocktail hour- What did your guest do while you and your hubby were off taking pictures? Also, based on previous posts, is it safe to assume the Seaside Grill is free IF your reception is after 6-6:30???? -
Hello Ladies
Ive just got back from sunny Mexico... and everything was prefect!
We flew with Virgin Atlantic from London Gatwick, apart from the flight being 11 hours it was really good. Open bar and touch screen entertainment system kept us busy.
Cancun airport was stress free and easy .... Transfer to the hotel as really good, we were offered drinks and snacks, not that we needed any after all the food we got on the plane.
Hotel ..
We booked a garden view room for 15 nights. When we arrived we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite!
Rooms, gardens, pools, beach, bars, resturants and staff are all amazing.
*Cookies in the lobby are really yummy*
Because we were upgraded meant we got to use the preferred club room and we got the honeymoon package!
The preferred club room was really good, computers, bar and snacks served during the day.
Honeymoon package included spa treatments.. they were REALLY good and a private dinner on the beach, this was also REALLY good.
We also had a massage included in the wedding package. We had this the day before the wedding. again this was really good.
The spa was beautiful and really relaxing.
Excursions.. We really enjoyed all of them. some of them we booked with Amstar. Trips to Coco Bongos, Cancun and Playa del Carmen we walked to the main road and got the local bus.
Xcaret
Dolphin Swim
Zip Lines and Jungle
Quad Bikes
Cenotes
Chitchen Itza
Snorkelling
Sailing
Sea Kayaking
Coco Bongos and Cancun
Playa del Carmen
Puerto Morelos
Wedding Day!!!
Everything was prefect...i cant think of anything i would of changed or wish could of been different.
We had 35 guests, all stayed in a hotel in cancun.
The day before the wedding we asked the front desk if they had a room available for my husband to use (we got legally married and didnt want to see eachother till the ceremony) They gave him a ground floor room with a pluge pool, which i thought was really nice. He got to use that room till 4.30 on the wedding day.
My maid of honour and bridesmaid came to the hotel at 9.30...I showed them around the hotel and they loved it!
We all went to the spa at 11.00 for a manicure and pedicure.
12.00 hair and makeup.. this was REALLY BAD. I told them that my hair doesnt hold curls really well. They didnt leave my hair in the curlers.longer enough so they fell out after 1 hour. Also i have natural blonde hair and they only had brown hair slides and you could really see them.
I asked for my makeup to look really natural. When i looked in the mirror i looked like a drag queen! I had that much makeup on.
Luckly me and my bridesmaids found it really funny.
I asked the lady nicely (sorry i cant remember for name) to remove all the eyeshadow and lipstick, then it looked alot better.
Dont be put off, i just dont like to wear lots of makeup. There was another wedding group having there makeup done and they seemed to love all the eyeshadow.
3.00. Anel started taking pictures of the guys getting ready (Anel was amazing!)
3.30. Anel started taking pictures of me and the bridemaids
Gina came up with the flowers which were beauitful
4.30 Ceremony on the north beach. It was a beauitful day and wasnt windly
Then we took pictures on the beach and pictures around the resort..
6.00-7.00. Cocktail hour on the beach.
7.00-10.30. Reception in the Seaside Grill..
I loved our reception, it was so much fun!
I didnt pay for any lighting but they put up.over 20 white paper lights and we got the lightup dance floor for free!! i was so happy!
We had the bbq buffet which everyone really enjoyed and we had the vanilla wedding cake, that was really yummy!
Hope this review helps.. let me know if you have any questions about the wedding day, hotel or excursions.
Also i highly recommend getting legally married in Mexcio.. it was so easy and it made it so special getting married on that beauitful beach.
I will post my slideshow when i get it and i will also post my wedding video
I did Trash the Dress with a friend who'sa photographer. I will post them when i she sends me them.

Question for people who have already been to Dreams... Can the men wear smart jeans in the restaurants or do they have to wear trousers?
-
I have a couple of friends back packing around mexico, we are meeting them cancun for a night out.
They have been using the buses to travel from Mexico City, but when i look on google maps Dreams isnt by the main road.
I'll get a taxi, i dont fancy the 3km walk to the main road!
Thank you

Hi Ladies! Question for the anyone who has already been to Dreams. How can I get into Cancun. Can I get a bus or would I need to get a taxi? I know I can get a bus from the main road, but far is the main road? Hope you can help 6 days till I go!!

April 19th...
Flying out on the 11th, leave on the 28th ... i might get to see your wedding!
We both dont have long!!
-
Vika..
I feel the same; I want one wedding day in front of my closest family and friends .
I’ve been to legal weddings in Thailand, France, Portugal and Jamaica and i know a couple that have had a legal ceremony in Mexico. All beautiful weddings, no horror stories!
All paper work and blood tests will done at the wedding meeting so you are not wasting your holiday time at meetings!
All you need to do is email your wedding planner the legal marriage form (Ive emailed it too you) copies of your birth certificates. and the names of your 4 witnesses. Its been really easy.
The only negetive i can think of is the extra cost.
Hope this helps

Lorena let us know last minute, day before wedding that she had a family emergency and had to leave town so therefore would have to leave Gina in charge and I have to say, despite some minor details that were omitted or forgotten in the stress over weather, Gina and Jorge made everything way better than we could have expected! I guess they felt bad, they threw in a few lighting and decor perks and "Mr. Awesome Mauricio" threw in the dance floor as a wedding gift and after seeing nearly all of our 50guests + bartenders and even coordinator Jorge dancing on the sidelines we knew it would be memorable! Mauricio exceeded our expectations with music and even videotaped moments when all of our guests were dancing all over the ballroom! What can I say about Anel, my goodness the girl is good! We only had the 50 photos included in our package plus we did the TTD session with her since a family friend/guest covered most of our other photography. We got 2 photo books and they are beautiful!
I will give a full review soon and post our slideshows just had to let you all know, the resort was awesome, food was magnificent and service was exceptional! Needless to say, all of our guests paid about $1300 per person for only 4 days and they said it was well worth every penny!
Cynthia
Congratulations!
Glad you had an amzing wedding.. Cant wait to see you photos and read your review

It was hot during the day but cold at night... It was expected to rain on my wedding say which was very stressful as Lorena And Jorge begged us to move it inside but we refused. Guess what? I neve rained !!! But them beging us to move it the whole time before made me a nervous wreck so until I actually walked down the isle on the beach I was a ball of nerves and very aggravated. Stay calm tho because Lorena is a doll and she really did a great job! My beach ceremony was beautiful and so was my cocktail hour on the terrace. I highly recommend this because my guests are still talking about the terrace and the mariachi band! My reception on the deck and the music was better than I could have imagined honestly (we danced and kept warm lol) I will write a detailed review soon !
Congratulations!
Ive seen a couple of your photos on Facebook.. You looked beauitful!
Look forward to reading your review
