  1. Hi ladies, Question: We got married at EPM (legal ceremony) and now its time for me to get my name changed. Do we have to get our Mexico wedding certificate translated to English? If so, does anyone know where to get this done? Thanks!
  2. Hey! My cousin did my hair and makeup and a friend did our pics. The salon did all of my bridesmaids hair and did a great job! Some got their makeup done too and they were very happy w the results.
  3. Thanks! it was so fun! We paid extra for flower petals. Pretty sure they were $100. Shells and starfish were included. We had the gold package. Not sure if the runner was included- think so.
  4. Sad we didn't meet up!!!! So glad it went well!!! Ours was amazing too! We really couldn't have asked for any better weather!
  5. JUST GOT MARRIED April 20!! It was absolutely AMAZING!!!! We had a 5pm ceremony on th beach with 80 people. Reception at CECO Terrace was AWESOME! Everyone said it was the BEST wedding they've ever been to! If you want to see pics, friend request me on FB: Monica Arcuri. It won't let me post on here for some reason...
  6. Hey everyone! We leave Tuesday for our wedding on 4-20! We are SO excited. Llenny (wedding planner at EPM) has been wonderful to work with. We have everything finalized as of last week. If any of you are in need of a good travel agent, we used Laura Sangster with The Journey Group. She has been PHENOMENAL! She has gone above and beyond my expectations. She has worked with the resort numerous times and had all of the "ins and outs" figured out in a timely manner. I will be sure to post pics and comments as soon as we get back from our Italian honeymoon, May 7. I am SO excited I cannot contain myself! -Monica

  8. Lleny has been amazing for us too!!! I always get an answered email within 24 hours. Smoochz...We are getting close.....(I'm on April 20th!) Do you have everything picked out? I just finalized our menus, welcome reception, table linens, decorations, etc.!
  9. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I've been so busy. Unfortunately, they do not reinburse you for anything on the packages that you do not use. What I would do if I were you, is email the wedding coordinator and tell her your situation. She will most likely recommend you get one of the lower packages and then just add on what you may need and charge you that way.
  10. The packages aren't set in stone. I guess it really depends on what you're trying to add/subtract. Basically, they've worked with me in different things I wanted and did not want. They've customized alot for us and we never had any issues. But then again, it was for small things. What rules of things are you looking to change?
  11. Hey everyone! Has anyone had their ceremony "live streamed" back to the US? We are interested in doing this, but not sure if the resort's "WiFi" is good enough. THanks, Monica
  12. To save money, we are renting vases and using our bridesmaid bouquets to place in them. She quoted me at $10/vase. And, we have 9 bridesmaids and 10 tables, so it works out perfectly...because we already have a centerpiece included in our Gold Package. We are also renting candles for each table. 3 candles for each table.
  13. Does anyone have pictures or know the difference between the bamboo chairs and the tiffany chairs? We do not want to use the white chairs with the covers that are provided. Does anyone know if you can subsitute menu options for the dinner at reception? We received our menu options, but didn't know if we could pick and choose from each menu to customize? What documents are required for a legal ceremony? Just curious as to if we need to bring our birth certifcates or whatever else?? Thanks in advance!
  14. I don't think any of the pacakges come with a private rehearsal dinner. I bought the Gold Package and I was just quoted $22/per person for a private rehearsal dinner.
  15. Your wedding will be beautifl and intimate! The beach is beautiful and you will love it. I am "carrying" my dress on the plane. I've heard other brides say this is the way to do it. And, most airlines will hang your dress for you in a special closet. There is NO way I would ship it...not only because it could get lost, but it could also get mishandled and damaged. I would def bring it as a carry on if I were you. Our travel agent has arranged transportation to and from for us. She has been a breeze to work with too. When we were in Mexico last year, we did some exscursions at Xcaret, which was about an hour and a half away. It is a park with plenty of activites. We snorkeled the cenotes (BEAUTIFUL), saw some ruins, and swam with the dolphins (highly recommended!). It was quite expensive, but fun! You can also zip line there too. We did not do any activities at EPM, we just mainly hung out by the pool and drank pina colodas all day and soaked up the sun! But, there are many activities to do there. You can do yoga on the beach, volleyball, kayaking, etc. I am emailing Nayeli today to see what needs to be done as far as planning goes. And, I too am starting to feel like a bride too--I am getting excited- it will be here before we know it!
  16. Haha,..sorry I just saw this before I posted my other reply. I haven't finalized everything yet, what about you? I can't wait!!!!
  17. Hey!! I'm getting married on 4-20-13 too! 5pm on the beach! We have 80 people coming! I'm wearing my hair half up. Most brides on here say to wear your hair up because of the wind, but I will chance it because I never wear my hair up...and I would much rather it down. I've heard that the makeup artist there is great and they use good makeup (MAC). I wil lbe using them for my hair/makeup. The nightlife is good there. There are nightly shows at the outdoor theater that usually last until 11:30ish.. The nightly shows are cool-one night there was a Michael Jackson impersonator who was great! The next night was a fire show with dancing. And the next night, they had a guy playing guitar and singing-he was AMAZING! Then there is a discotech (bar with dancing) nearby that stays lively until 2am. When we visited last March, we ended up at the discotech every night almost until 2. It is small, but not too small. And, it's a lot of fun. We never left the resort to go to Cancun because the resort is just so amazing. But, the year before we ventured off to Cancun one night-but regretted it. It was way too crowded and was silly to spend money when you already have everything incuded at your resort. *Hope to meet you when I'm down there! What time is your wedding and how many people do you have coming?
  18. We are using Laura Sangster with The Journey Group.www.caribbeanjourney.com She and her staff have been GREAT to work with! She has worked with many weddings at EPM and I've seen great feedback on this forum about her.
