  1. Regarding the birth certificate thing - I got a reply from Eugenia and she said that just this past week, the justice of the peace has changed the requirements so that you now need to send a copy of your birth certificate (long version). Yikes! I couldn't even find mine - good thing the registry does them in two days for $44.
  2. Thanks! I will just email her and hopefully she replies a little sooner for this quick question. I have another question - how long is the walk from the start to the hammocks? Wondering if our little flowergirl will chicken out halfway or if she should walk with her mama.
  3. Ok so...I heard from Eugenia about some of the details and now I'm confused! We scanned our passports for both us and our witnesses, and sent her the paperwork for choosing restaurant, etc. She replied that we still need to send her our birth certificates, to "start the process of the single status certificate". Neither of us has been married/divorced before, so I'm not sure what this is for? None of the paperwork mentioned this previously, can anyone help me out? Thanks Erin
  4. Hey girls, Just wondering what the rooms are like for the bride and groom. Is there a sofa bed or anything? Wondering if I can have all my girls stay in the room with me the night before the wedding. Thanks! Erin
  5. Tink, you could maybe email my coordinator to see what's up? I've got Eugenia, she's at [email protected].
  6. I'm going to wear barefoot sandals, similar to these: http://www.etsy.com/listing/79220668/swarovski-crystal-and-pearl-beach?ref=sr_gallery_11&ga_includes%5B0%5D=tags&ga_search_query=barefoot+sandals&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=barefoot+sandals&ga_includes%5B%5D=tags&ga_view_type=gallery
  7. Have a great week! What an exciting time, I hope you can all meet up at some time. Can't wait to hear about all the lovely weddings!
  8. Beautiful photos! I love the waves in the background. Did the 3 tier cake cost extra?
  9. Thanks girls, that's super helpful! Don't know what I'd do without you all
  10. I'm confused about the poolside cocktail party - I emailed Eugenia and asked about having the party with national drinks only. She asked if we wanted the $41/person option - is that the cost? I thought it was only something like $5/person. She also quoted me $70/hour to rent the speakers for an iPod. Thanks! Erin
  11. Hey girls, Speaking of photographers, do we need to have any paperwork filled out to bring the equipment into the country? Like a work visa or anything? (sorry if this question is silly!)
  12. Perfect, thanks ladies!! I wanted hair half up, but I think I'm going to go with it all up, I've seen some photos with hair in the face and it kinda ruins the pic a little.
  13. Hmm I'll have to find some pretty flat sandals...I like the barefoot ones but my mom is funny about me going barefoot! Does anyone know what time the sun sets in September there? Thanks!
  14. Hey Dominicanbride! I was directed to this website by another bride - great prices for all that stuff: http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/Satin-Navy-Chair-Sash-p/b17a_sash_ss_navy.htm

  16. What kind of shoes would past brides recommend for the hammocks location? If I wear wedgy flip flops, will I fall on my face walking through the sand? Thanks!
  17. Thanks Kysti! Your profile pic is so pretty do you know how much it would be to rent the resort's equipment for the dance?
  18. Cheryl, your bouquet is beautiful!! Did you have to pay extra or is that the standard size?
  19. Girling, have you checked out the GBP Official thread on the forum (go back to the Riviera Maya and Cancun Accomodations page)? It's got lots of info on stuff like packages, photos, DJ etc - super great.
  20. Hey, I was just wondering if we are limited to the two options for the wedding dinner at the a la cartes? We are staying at the Akumal so I think our choices are the Dolce Vita and Frutos del Mar, but wanted to know if anyone else was able to eat at another restaurant. Thanks!
  21. Hey ladies! I'm getting married at the GBP Akumal in September, and this forum has been AMAZING so far! Thanks for all the input I am just getting my date finalized for the week of the 21st-28th and look forward to the planning.
