I believe Lomas is charging 3x that amount!

We got 'free' fans on the skydeck for the guests to use. I didn't really see anyone using them. Mind you our day was very windy.

For anyone that wants to make their own barefoot sandals, I posted a tutorial here!

hey guys, I got a bunch of questions asking about the barefoot sandals so I posted a tutorial on how to make them!

lol clearly I was having computer problems as it wasn't showing me the quoted message... yes $800 although I got married just as they increased them so I paid the old price of $500

Hey Kathy,
I think you're talking to me?
Thanks! No, Doremixx is an outside vendor and you will have to pay the fee. He's totally worth it and doesn't compare to the DJ the resort offers.

oops forgot to mentions, if you click on my planning blog below you'll see pictures of where I had mine as well. Even tho plaza zavas is outdoors, it worked out great for us. Felt really private, no issues with music or partying.

question about photographers, my fiance and I were actually thinking of flying our photographers (2 of them) to Azul and staying there for 7 nights. Has anybody done that?
Or should we just hire a photographer from Mexico?
the photographers we are flying does videography as well and we love their work thats why we were thinking of flying them there.
Also, Does anybody have pictures of the reception areas in Azul Sensatori? We are having approx 25-30 people (possibly more), but we want the reception area to be private, we can dance and be loud.
Thanks Ladies
I flew my photographer down with me! Worked out fine.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's not the rainy season. It called for rain on our wedding day and it didn't rain once the whole week!
PS why does blue les caribe keep posting? I thought I saw those pics before..

We had 4 guests book 4 days before departure. They ended up arriving a day later because the flights were booked. There were really no issues other than the annoyance of changing meal quantities etc. with the coordinator. Other than that we anticipated them coming and prepared extra favours, seating cards etc. We left the seating chart last min anticipating something like this. But there were really no problems!

Has anyone had a guest book past the 45 day prior deadline? Did you find any issues with that?
Also I have been looking for tote bags for my welcome bags and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on website to try?
Can't believe its less then 5 months..

Actually, you're right, we got it because our travel agent was a registered GI consultant. -
We also had a free cocktail hour. It was part of the free sweet wedding package and probably in the others as well. You might want to ask for the packages or download them from the website. It does include appetizers and a signature drink. We didn't get to eat anything but the guests said the food was delicious. -
Yes, we did create that. We sat down one afternoon and started dooling! It came out well
she did! she was more than awesome. haha, thanks for the compliment! something tells me I might over the top with a baby shower or kid's party

It depends,
I saw them at the Spoons restaurant one night but I think they have them go around the resort once a week. You can try but something tells me they would say no as they have to clear it with the coordinators.

I felt the same way... I was really disappointed at all the extra costs but let me tell you that once I got there and saw how the wedding came together it was all worth! don't let that put a damper on your planning process

I KNOW
It's so dumb... It's $400 to get a mariachi band for 45 mins at the Barcelo............... that's $1100 less!
-
I had the same experience. I was so upset I couldn't get the mariachis, but I couldn't and didnt want to pay the money. It honestly ridiculous

I tried and tried to talk to my WC about it, but they would not budge an inch on the price. I was going to go ahead and get them anyway, but decided not to, mostly on principal. I would have had no problem paying the price Lomas charged if that was the actual market value (or even remotely close), but there is only so much that one should pay for any given thing, and Lomas's prices on most things are way over the line, in my opinion. And I got irritated at giving in to their pricing on everything. $1600 seems like a lot to me for 15 minutes of anything (especially since $800 of it is basically for nothing). But the heart wants what it wants (my own personal motto during my wedding planning), so I understand the struggle!Quote:

Having seen other semi private weddings and having had a private of my own I would say totally go for the private. Plaza Zavaz is amazing. You don't need to worry about renting a dance floor, etc. Its your wedding and it should totally feel like you're the most important people!
Something to think about.

We are having the sky deck at 4:00 and I haven't decided on anything else.
HELP!

No, it is not a fair price. You can get the same size piñata elsewhere for $50. I almost did this but you risk delivery, timelines, quality etc. It wasn't worth it for me.
It was filled with all sorts of delicious Mexican candy. I ordered it through my TA Elizabeth Riff. It was a huge hit, people loved it!

Hi Tonya,
It's included if you do a semi private dinner. This is usually at some of the restaurants and they're not completely private. I did pay per plate for the reception dinner and the cost depends on the meal you choose, it can be anywhere from $15 and upwards.
