    Hi Tonya,

It's included if you do a semi private dinner. This is usually at some of the restaurants and they're not completely private. I did pay per plate for the reception dinner and the cost depends on the meal you choose, it can be anywhere from $15 and upwards.

  2. got mine there. loved them!

I love it and think it is perfect since i really do not want to pay an arm and a leg for real flowers through Lomas. The bout is approx $17.50 and my calla lilies bouquet will be approx $110. I believe Lomas is charging 3x that amount!

We got 'free' fans on the skydeck for the guests to use. I didn't really see anyone using them. Mind you our day was very windy.

Thanks for responding! Your website is amazing and it looks like you guys had a GREAT time!!!

The Dj you recommended, is that the Dj that the hotel recommended you?

    Thanks

    Hey Kathy,

I think you're talking to me?

Thanks! No, Doremixx is an outside vendor and you will have to pay the fee. He's totally worth it and doesn't compare to the DJ the resort offers.

Im actually waiting to book Azul Sensatori for our wedding in May 2013.

I was reading the thread and found many helpful tips!

question about photographers, my fiance and I were actually thinking of flying our photographers (2 of them) to Azul and staying there for 7 nights. Has anybody done that?

Or should we just hire a photographer from Mexico?

the photographers we are flying does videography as well and we love their work thats why we were thinking of flying them there.

Also, Does anybody have pictures of the reception areas in Azul Sensatori? We are having approx 25-30 people (possibly more), but we want the reception area to be private, we can dance and be loud.

    Thanks Ladies

I flew my photographer down with me! Worked out fine.

  6. We had 4 guests book 4 days before departure. They ended up arriving a day later because the flights were booked. There were really no issues other than the annoyance of changing meal quantities etc. with the coordinator. Other than that we anticipated them coming and prepared extra favours, seating cards etc. We left the seating chart last min anticipating something like this. But there were really no problems!

I figured the guests will appreciate more time to decide/ book/ save money....

Has anyone had a guest book past the 45 day prior deadline? Did you find any issues with that?

Also I have been looking for tote bags for my welcome bags and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on website to try?

Can't believe its less then 5 months..

Actually, you're right, we got it because our travel agent was a registered GI consultant.

Hi, can you clarify on the 'free cocktail hour'. Is that included for any wedding at Azul, and does that include any food?

We also had a free cocktail hour. It was part of the free sweet wedding package and probably in the others as well. You might want to ask for the packages or download them from the website. It does include appetizers and a signature drink. We didn't get to eat anything but the guests said the food was delicious.

  9. Yes, we did create that. We sat down one afternoon and started dooling! It came out well :)

she did! she was more than awesome. haha, thanks for the compliment! something tells me I might over the top with a baby shower or kid's party ;)

Your photographer was great, she really captured your details very well. I'm in love with your wedding, I can't wait to see you do a baby shower or an anniversary party.

  10. It depends,

I saw them at the Spoons restaurant one night but I think they have them go around the resort once a week. You can try but something tells me they would say no as they have to clear it with the coordinators.

  11. I felt the same way... I was really disappointed at all the extra costs but let me tell you that once I got there and saw how the wedding came together it was all worth! don't let that put a damper on your planning process :)

  12. I had the same experience. I was so upset I couldn't get the mariachis, but I couldn't and didnt want to pay the money. It honestly ridiculous

  13. Having seen other semi private weddings and having had a private of my own I would say totally go for the private. Plaza Zavaz is amazing. You don't need to worry about renting a dance floor, etc. Its your wedding and it should totally feel like you're the most important people!

    Something to think about.

So now that I have my date, and my place...I am still contemplating whether or not I should have a "private reception"  I really wanted the first dance, and feeling of the dinner being in honor of us.  I will probably have about 35-40 guests  (so far ).  What are everyone's plans in terms of after the ceremony?

We are having the sky deck at 4:00 and I haven't decided on anything else.

      HELP!

  14. No, it is not a fair price. You can get the same size piñata elsewhere for $50. I almost did this but you risk delivery, timelines, quality etc. It wasn't worth it for me.

It was filled with all sorts of delicious Mexican candy. I ordered it through my TA Elizabeth Riff. It was a huge hit, people loved it!

    Thanks!
