  1. We used Adrian Herrera and he transported us to another beach location for our TTD. Thus, we avoided the second vendor fee. If they come two different days, you have to pay 2 vendor fees.
  2. It was my understanding that the basic wedding package was free with 7 nights in an excellence suite. If you did the silver or gold package, you had to pay the difference for the upgrade. So sorry you had to deal with that.
  3. The beach is amazing. There was some seaweed when we got there, but by the time we left, it was totally clear. It is powder white sand. We spent most everyday at the beach and never had a hard time getting chairs. Our favorite restaurant was Chez Isabelle, the French one. It is one of the nicer ones and the atmosphere is really romantic. Definitely order the french onion soup. We never made it to Agave. We just did an excellence club ocean view. We loved it because we were not on the first floor where people could walk by and see us. It gave us the privacy to lounge on the patio in our robes and open the door by the spa tub. There are extra costs everywhere. There are lots of upgrades even from the gold package. We did the gold package and just picked within it to avoid problems.
  4. I saw you walking around later after your ceremony. You both looked wonderful and so happy!! My matron of honor and her husband said they met you while you were getting your hair done! Your pics are great!!
  5. Hey Ladies! We just got back from our 12 day stay and are totally bummed to be home. We were married Sunday, April 29 and had no problems with the wedding planner not working that day. N may be off, but we were assigned to Lleny when we got there. We never met N. I never received my planner before we left, but I had sent all of our selections before hand (about 6 weeks) and they had everything correct when we met. My biggest problem was that they did not have time to meet with us when we got there. This was problematic because we HAD to meet to do paperwork for a legal ceremony. It took 4 phone calls and 4 hours after our arrival for us to get in touch with someone from the weddings department. Our other issue was with our OOT bags. Not all of them went out and one was never delivered. I was not so happy about that as there is a $4/bag delivery charge. My biggest piece of advice is do not stress over the details after you set your date. Mail you options to them 6 weeks before (I never got any response) and trust that they have them. You all will get there a few days before the wedding to finalize the details. You will drive yourself CRAZY if you stress over not hearing from them and tiny specific details. As MsBliss said, the flowers come late. We didn't get ours until 10 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start. We worked with Adrian Herrera for photography. Book him now! He is amazing and is only going to get better. The resort is amazing and you will have an AMAZING time.
  6. Haha! I'll be the other one with a ton of bags and a wedding dress! Safe travels to you too!!
  7. Brennas, We may need to meet up for a cocktail when this is all said and done!! We arrive at the resort about 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. Sharon99, We are planning for the beach at 5pm. Come and watch! The more the merrier!
  8. Well, I haven't heard from N in 6 weeks and I leave tomorrow. I hope she has her crap together when we arrive and I hope we can find her. We don't even have our meeting set up.
  9. I think I remember reading somewhere that it is an extra $25 for shrimp or lobster. I love shrimp, but decided I didn't want to pay that much extra for everyone else to eat them.
  10. Does anyone know that contingency plan in the case of rain? Of course all next weekend there is a 60% chance of rain and storms.
  11. Brennas, We leave in 6 days too! I have not heard a peep from N. Am hoping to get my planner as well. Would love to have that checked off. The last time I heard from N she said just to ask for her at the front desk so we could set up our meeting. A little nervous going down without a meeting already set up. MsBliss, Thanks soo much for posting. You have definitely made me feel better. Congrats and enjoy your honeymoon!
  12. I have yet to get that flow sheet and I have sent all our choices. Only worries me that people with weddings after me have it. We're up on April 29 and I haven't heard from the resort in 4 weeks. They failed to send me the form for a civil ceremony which is due 30 days before the wedding. Slightly worried that our ceremony won't be legal which is a MASSIVE problem.
  13. I didn't ask about a food tasting, but we are planning to do a cake tasting for $50. I like the pinata idea! That is super fun and cute!
  14. Iciz, Congrats!!! I hope everything goes perfectly and that it is everything you've dreamed of. We did a similar poem. A lot of the stuff is the same. This survival kit was made just for you To ensure you are cared for all weekend through. We hope a bright smile is upon you face. Some SPF lip balm should keep it in place. We want you to party and never want to leave. But if you get too rowdy, just take some Aleve. May no tears fall from your eye, But here are some tissues in case you cry. We wanted to share something truly unique, Here's something special just for your feet. If you want to lay by the pool for some fun, Here is some lotion to protect from the sun. Some hugs and kisses for our dearest friends Our journey together has no end. Thank you so much for all you have done Your support, your love and all of the fun. We hope that this kit brings you some glee. It’s just a small thanks from the bride and groom-to be.
  15. We ordered them from partyflops.com. They were $5.95 for women's and $6.45 for men's. The colors are a little off from what we were expecting, so be aware of that if you order some. Don't stress. You have plenty of time before September. Start picking your stuff out and when she confirms, order it. I would imagine you'll hear back today or tomorrow. I've never heard back on a weekend and it usually takes 5-6 days to get a response.
  16. We are putting sunblock, spf lip balm, tissues, Aleve, and Hershey's hugs and kisses. We have a survival kit poem that goes with them. Our bags are personalized, normal size gift bags. We could have gone with a bigger bag, but we didn't want to feel like we needed to fill up a larger bag. The flip flops were our splurge.
  17. Jass7, We sent out save the dates Septemberish for our April 29th wedding. It had our website information allowing people to get travel information, start saving and book their trip early. Our invitations are going out this week. On another note, we got the flip flops for our OOT bags. Sooooo cute. Pics to come.
  18. You aren't kidding! This video had me in tears. We had only been engaged 5 weeks when we found out my cancer was back. Though my wedding will be nothing like that as it is believed my cancer is gone, it totally reminds me how lucky I am to be marrying my best friend who has been my rock through two rounds of cancer treatment now. Oh, and my fiance is Nick (same as in the video). I'd like to believe this is why I'm not nervous or stressed about the details of our big day!
  19. Jass7, when I was asking about photographers I was told that only La Luna and Del Sol were not allowed and the fee is $500 to bring them to the resort. We are using Adrian Herrera of Victor Herrera. As for response time, I have never gotten quick responses. I usually get impatient after about 5 days. I just sent a whole list of questions to N about everything and was impressed with her responses. I would rather her take her time to get back with me than rush the responses and not take any time.
  20. We chose not to use a TA for our 30-40 guests because the few travel agents I spoke with quoted ridiculously expensive prices as compared to booking on your own with the resort or some internet sites like expedia. We haven't had too much trouble and encouraged our guest to use one if they felt more comfortable. We have 32 guests booked and no one has had any problems so far. I, however, did not want my guests to pay an extra $300-$400 just for using a travel agent I chose. After speaking to a few TAs, I just gave up. Sounds like the ladies on here had better luck than I did, though.
  21. I'm putting our guys in sandals. I'm not even sure if I am wearing shoes so I hate to put them in heavy things. I haven't ruled out barefoot on the beach either.
  22. Surely Gustavo and Ileana were transitioning with someone. I know that I spoke with Daniela at one point when Ileana was out of the office. Do we know who the new people are yet?
