Thank you so much for all the information. We are now in touch with Lily from the decor company & we are going to customize. Did you have white chairs with organza sashes for the ceremony?

Did you have sashes with the silver chairs? I knew the orchid centerpeice is silk. Is the 6 pots of white roses..also silk??

We are ok with doing both cocktail & reception in the same area but I wanted a little change of atmosphere. The other idea is to have cocktails on the terrace & reception by the gazebo. What do you think? Our ceremony is @ 2pm & 1hr cocktail, 4 hrs reception..so guests will enjoy the sunset @ 5pm in the terrace.

We def want lounge couches/ tables, tall table with light underneath for cocktail & keep them for reception too.

Did you serve white wine or champagne during the ceremony?

Lastly, do you remember who did your hair, makeup? Did you like it?

Anyway, I can see some of your photos please?

Thanks again for taking the time. I am soooo grateful.

    Med2012,

You are also doing tiffany blue color. I can't believe your getting married on Fri. So excited for you. You are probably already there. I can't wait to hear about your wedding and hopefully see some pictures. I am thinking white chairs for ceremony, not sure if the sashes will look good in the photos with the wind. Then silver chair with Tiffany blue sashes. I don't know what to do about the table cloth, they only have Ivory for square tables. So, now I am thinking white table cloth & maybe blue runners. I just don't know if the sashes & table runners are the same shade. Originally, I wanted a champagne table cloth, a designed runner then blue napkins.

We are going to book Del Sol for 6hrs..maybe 7. As for the DJ, we are planning on using on site DJ but we haven't heard from them.

I decided against the blue sashes for the ceremony and only used them during the reception - I thought it may be a bit too much/ tacky for my taste to have them on the chairs during the ceremony and wanted to keep things simple and clean.

They moved the chairs upstairs and put the sashes on for the ceremony in the tiffany blue.  We used white table clothes and used a tiffany blue table runner on the tables for a little bit of color (they were perfect, I will have to post pictures soon).  The shades were the same.

The wedding day couldn't have been more perfect, it rained before the ceremony and right after and the staff moved the chairs in and out from the terrace 3x to make it work - nothing was wet at the end and you couldn't even tell it had rained, they cleaned everything off and made it PERFECT. I can't believe all of their hard work, it all went off without a hitch and everything from Le Blanc and Lily from Zuniga was exactly as they had said - their pictures were spot on with what they delivered and what I requested happened.  I will write a longer review & post later with pictures.  It was the best few days with all of our family & friends there, it all just seems like a dream now!

  2. Margot - SO happy to hear your review on the weather, I will not worry until I get down there and look at the sky everyday to see what it will be like, not trusting my weather app which now just says RAIN RAIN RAIN.

To those asking - everything is customizable (for a price!).  I got the complimentary package and did all my upgrades from there - white cushioned chairs, flowers I wanted for the table (make sure you specify EVERYTHING you want for the ceremony or you will end up with some weird flowers or vases you dont want, so I hear, because they are included).

For the reception we did the same chairs, but added sashes to them in tiffany blue.  also did tiffany blue table runners - everything else i used the white linens.  The centerpieces are also customizable, you just have to specify with Zuniga (the company they used for mine) what you want - I sent lots of pictures of what I wanted it to look like, hopefully it will come out like I imagine!

  3. My wedding isn't until next week, but I have to put my two cents in on the wonderful Wendy Hicks.  The reviews on here are all true...she is EXTREMELY helpful.

My wedding will have 50 people total and booked almost all of the guests (a couple chose to stay at a different resort).  We had guests cancelling, last minute guests booking the week before the wedding, and my fiance and I decided we didn't want to room together until the wedding night so our room count changed every night making everything very confusing.  Wendy handled it all without ever an issue and was very prompt in getting back to us every single day, even weekends!!! I sent her an email one Sunday afternoon and she called right after to answer my Mom and I's questions.

She made the booking process seamless and stress-free for myself and my family.  In addition, she KNOWS Mexico and KNOWS Le Blanc Spa Resort.  It was comforting knowing she has booked several of these at the resort, visited, and knows how to work with the staff there.  Also the contract with her is the same as it is if you were to book with Palace Resorts, which I'm VERY glad I didn't do.

I cannot say enough good things about her.  In addition, she was in California and we were on the East Coast and it was never an issue.  Don't think twice about using her!

PM me if you have any questions.

    -Molly

  4. Hi Amber - I guess I need to correct my profile information, I'm actually getting married next Friday (20th).  I will definitely show you pictures when we return!

  5. Just to add my two cents and play devil's advocate, I am getting married at the Gazebo, saw it in person, and still wanted to get married there.  I wanted a beach wedding, but wasn't a "feet in the sand" type of bride, so the Gazebo really was the best option for me.  The view is still breathtaking, and the pictures will be gorgeous.  The aisle is very small since it backs up to a wall, but depending on how many people you have coming, it's not a problem.  I have 50 (39 sitting for the ceremony) and they are making it work with no issues.

I have pictures of all angles and videos walking up to the gazebo from when I visited, pm me if you are considering the Gazebo and want to see.

  6. Hi Melissa -

As far as the menus go, anything is a go from it for the buffets, then there is also a plated menu (separate from the buffet menu) where you pick from, but it can only be used in the ballroom or outside on the terrace, not any of the other spaces.

If you pick different vendors outside the resort, there is a $500 fee for each (if you haven't written it into your contract prior).

I definitely felt a bit stressed since she told me I probably won't hear from anyone for a couple months. This probably means longer especially since they are transferring all the info over rhere I honestly think that we do have plenty of time but it would be nice to know who we can contact if we have any initial questions. Silvia sent me a bunch of attachments with longgggg lists of food to choose from but wasnt really specific as to if it was for the Buffett option or plates meals. Just a bit confusing. She didn't say anything about picking specific vendors for pictures or the DJ. She just gave me a basic email but with only what the resort offers- I didn't know we could pick diff vendors outside of the resort? Is that what u are trying to do?
I am still in the beginning stages with everything but just sent out my save the dates today. I just hope someone from cancun reaches out within the next 2 months just so I know they are there for any initial questions. Let me know when you hear and I'll do the same!!! Good luck!!
  7. Hi Amber,

They are probably giving you a little bit of the cold shoulder since your wedding is "so far out."  Technically they don't work with you until 3 months before.  I got little information except picking my locations/ times and some other standard things before the 3 month mark, and really had to push.  Call them if they don't answer emails.  Hassle them until they reply.

Strange that Cancun is the new process...they told me 3 months before or 1 month before I would start engaging with the onsite wedding coordinator and everything before that would be through Palace Resorts.  I dealt with Yesenia and Silvia at the end.

I chose the Gazebo and Terrace (rooftop).  I visited the resort and got to see all the spots in person, so let me know if you have any questions.  The gazebo is absolutely beautiful and exactly what I was looking for since I didn't want to get married directly on the beach.

For vendor pricing for flowers, decorations, etc - it's expensive! I didn't start doing any of that until 3 months before but I had saved pictures of everything I wanted and sent them the list so they could start the price quote.  We went back and forth on ways to reduce the pricing, but have everything lined up before.  I didn't use the onsite photographer, but I do have a music pricing list if you want to see?

  8. Hi Ladies -

My wedding is in July and I visited in February and met with Sandra onsite.  I pushed to get a coordinator before the 3 month mark and I think Yesenia got so annoyed she gave me a girl named Joannis, but at the 3 month mark I wasn't getting responss and found out Joannis was no longer working the Le Blanc weddings, and I was given Silvia.

We did talk on the phone and she has been responsive about most things, sometimes it takes some hounding from me but there are several emails going back and forth between us, I think you just need to stay on top of her.

My onsite coordinator is Diana, she seems very helpful as well.

I don't believe the Colin collection will be there until Oct.  When I was there in Feb they said they thought MAYBE this summer if it came early, but most likely the fall.

  9. Does anyone have any information or recommendations for entertainment for the reception?  I saw someone was thinking about fire dancers...is there a steel drum band or any other options?  I wanted to possibly do something like this during dinner (for an hour) then have a DJ for the rest of the night.

Outside vendors are not a problem, I even had Yesenia take that part out of the contract but she assured me I would just have to pay for the guest fee onto the property.

What is everyone doing for their honeymoon after? As lovely as Le Blanc is, I know most of our family and friends will be extending their vacation and I'd prefer not to be on my honeymoon with them :)

  10. Lau - I'm so glad you mentioned the 10pm ending time for outdoor events, I had no idea! I double checked with Yesenia, and you are correct so we are planning on moving up our ceremony to 5:30 so we can do a 1 hour cocktail with 3 hour reception or 4 hour reception depending on what we decide.  I felt the 3 hours would feel too rushed for our guests and want to enjoy the night.

Nicole, could you pm me the vendor list as well?  I've asked Yesenia a few times but have not received it.  I haven't done any research on DJ's yet - any advice?

I'm hoping to send out my STD's in October.

  11. Looks like we are all on the same page, how funny!

Jaclyn, are you staying at the resort? Looks like we have to be there 3 days ahead of the ceremony, so I should be arriving sometime on 7/17 - maybe we will run into each other!  We chose 6pm at the Gazebo as well for the civil ceremony and should be receiving the contract today.  For the reception we're thinking the rooftop (Blancwind Terrace).

Does anyone have an idea of scheduling - cocktail hour, how long the reception is, etc? Or a preferred vendor list?

I'm working with Yesenia from Palace Resorts and she gave me the name of DJ Erik Sabagh...does anyone know anything about him or have any recommendations?  I asked her today for the preferred vendor list.

  12. Jaclyn - how exciting! We are planning on doing both at Le Blanc (ceremony & reception) since our guests will be staying there, looking at the 6pm timeframe now so we have some pretty shots during sunset and it's not as hot.

Have you (or anyone) hired a photographer?  I love Elizabeth Medina's pictures, but she's not available in late July because of vacation. I'm looking at Del Sol now.

    -Molly

  13. Hi Brides,

I'm new to the board, but have been reading posts for quite some time.  After 2 months of looking, my fiance and I finally chose Le Blanc for our wedding destination location and I cannot wait! I am working with Wendy Hicks and Yesenia from Palace Resorts and still working on firming up a date, but looking in July.  Any up front advice would be helpful since I'm new to this process.

How soon did everyone send out their save the dates? We were originally going to get married in November and have moved it up a few months so I feel behind!  I saw the passport ideas from Sproullie Designs and really liked that idea to give people information and gauge who would actually be coming.  We are thinking we will have around 40-50 guests.

For those that have picked packages yet, could you please share which and what the reasoning was?  That will be the next step in my process.

    Thanks,

    Molly
