  1. Hi Ladies, I'm getting married at GPLH October 6th 2012! We are from Toronto and are using L'Escape Travel Services to coordinate and plan the wedding. So far so good, love working with Jasprit & Raun. We just went through pricing with the hotel and I've got the same prices as Vancity Bride posted up above me. Much higher than I expected for a DW but as long as the guest list doesn't skyrocket we should be fine in terms of budget. The DJ option was quoted at $2700 for 3 hours which is INSANE! But Jasprit is going to work with the hotel to understand why it's so high compared to other resorts where they charge $450 for 3 hours flat. Is anyone just bringing an ipod for the music? Thanks for mentioning the $200 charge for speakers - I wasn't aware of that cost. We've chosen the Lover's Bluff Gazebo for the ceremony and the Blue Lagoon for the reception. I found the Blue Lagoon stunning because it's open air and very elegant. Someone asked about photographers up above - we're flying our photographer from Toronto for the weekend and we're using Mark Anthony photography for our wedding. Goodluck to everyone!
  2. Hi everyone, My FI & I are getting married Oct 6th 2012 at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton & Jamaica. As part of a thank you to our guests, we wanted to take our guests on a catamaran cruise, hopefully doing the Rick's cafe. We've been to Jamaica twice now - stayed at the RIU Negril and then at the Iberostar Suites but absolutely loved Negril and would like to take our guests to Rick's cafe - as opposed to the Dunns River Falls cruise. Has anyone done this before? If you have a contact that I could use, please let me know. I'm struggling on where to start planning this. Thanks so much!! Charlene

  4. Hello BDW brides, We've been engaged for a couple of months now and have just started planning our destination wedding in Jamaica. We got engaged at the Riu Negril Clubhouse but have decided not to go back there for our wedding. While it was a great place to stay- we definitely wanted more in terms of the beach and entertainment for our wedding. We're currently looking at the following hotels: - Iberostar Rose hall Suites & Beach - not sure whether there is a major difference between the two. How are the beaches at this resort? - Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton - I've seen some wedding photography and the architecture on the inside is perfect for pictures! but the beach looks fairly small so we aren't sure. - Riu Ocho Rios or Montego Bay: after our stay at the Riu Negril not sure if they will be the same. Also, is Ocho rios pretty far from the airport? One other thing we were thinking of doing was holding a catamaran cruise for our guests - has anyone done this? If so which company did you use and if you dont mind - what price per person did you get it for? Thanks, Charlene
