  1. Saku (Wedding Cancun by LATIN ASIA) Did an amazing job on the decor and flowers at our wedding!! A handful of the photos she posted were from my wedding. I loved working with her!!! She was so helpful and honest with everything :) Use her if you want great prices, beautiful options, someone who is very easy to work with, and someone who responds back quickly! Thanks again Saku -Amy (3-30-12 hacienda tres rios)

  2. Hi!  I used these table numbers for my beach wedding and they are in perfect condition.   They are super cute wooden signs with burlap nailed to one side.  I have numbers 1-10 and if you need more just let me know.  I originally paid $95 (with shipping) for these

I also have sea shells that serve as escort card holders/ place cards/ name holders as they have horizontal slots in them.  They are spray painted silver and are made from real sea shells.  I have about 80 of them.  I will count exactly how many I have if you are interested. I originally paid $100.50 (with shipping) for these as well.

Again if you want more let me know.

Let me know what you want to pay for them, and I can ship both or either of them to you if its a fair price.

I still have them as of 2/11/13, so let me know if you're interested.

  3. Hey can anyone send me their timeline at [email protected] ?  I am trying to start mine and did not realize how difficult it would be.  I'm getting married really SOON 3/30/12.  I dont check that email often so just let me know you sent it.  After my wedding I will happily post pics and suggestions, just now is a super crazy time (as you can imagine). We are having mediamorphsis as videographers and Samuel Luna as our photographer (recently featured in a Bridal Mag) so I'm sure you will have excellent video and photo examples to see soon enough :)

I'm very excited for the wedding!  We have 90 people total and only 12 are staying outside of the resort.

  4. I booked Mediamorfosis for my wedding this March and I am nervous now!  I have seen other reviews saying the same thing...that they take forever to get the video to you.  I made sure in my contract that I am withholding some payment until I get the video... the best they would take is with holding 30% that I would send right before they ship the finalized video.  I also sent them this email today to try and cover my bases.... hope it was ok!

    Hi-

I have been reading recent reviews on your company and they have all had a common thread: that you do not send the video in the time you state you will or in some cases you have not sent the video at all.  These reviews are very concerning.  I want to let you know that I fully expect the video to be delivered with in the 6 month period that is written on my contract.  $3,000 is a lot of money to send to not receive a video with in 6 months. Its is important that you be careful of the service you provide your clients so you do not perpetuate a bad reputation.  Having said that, I look forward to working with you on 3-30-12. Thank you,       Brooke- I'm so sorry about them not getting the video to you yet!  Your pics are beautiful!  Luis and Allibe were telling me that they plan to use the video on their website as promo material ... hopefully it comes soon! I can't wait to see it!   Amy
  5. Hi!

The visit was great!  So  much to do in so little time!  We picked exactly what we liked for the plates, but we did end up going with the same option for every person (vs buffet or family style).  We ended up going with a really nice surf and turf option, and we will let them know about any vegetarians the week of.  I met with the florist, the DJ (we are going with DJ mania the new resort preferred DJ), Gama (rentals), and hair/makeup (alexandro).  I had a trial by alexandro and liked his work).  Sorry cant write more at the moment, but overall it went well!

  6. Im right now at H3R!!! just as beautiful as I remember! We are doing our vendor weekend, and I just met with Saku the florist...who I LOVE.  She is SO helpful (even more so in person).  If anyone is wondering who to use for a florist (or get lanterns, gazebo, fabric, aisle runner, etc)  she is your girl!  just thought id share that!  we are doing our tasting tomorrow ...yum cant wait!

  7. We will only be there for the week of the wedding Saturday 3/24- Sun 4/1 (wedding 3/30).  Unfortunately not a lot of breaks from work for my fiance or me.  Totally understand both finishing up grad school and the boards.  I finished gradschool for speech language pathology and my fiance took his boards for internal medicine last year.  Lot's going on :)  Are you two getting a videographer?  I have been in contact with mediamorfosis (who did marisa and luis's wedding in 2009 on the H3R website).  I LOVE their work... check out their blog, i have spent hours upon hours watching the videos!!)  I told Luis I was planning on booking them, but he warned me that two couples, one from Jan and one from May, still have not received their videos from their weddings... so it made me worry a little.

Just booked our trip in Oct. to talk to vendors and sign contracts with everyone!  YAY!  We will be going Oct6th-Oct9th  can't wait!!

I emailed Sara the make up artist and am waiting on a response.

As far as renting the lanterns from Saku... u should email her and ask.  It seems like she has a lot more then just flowers.

  8. The email of the florist is

I actually asked her if she has hanging lanterns and she said yes and quoted these prices which are MUCH lower then H3R... might be worth going with her for lanterns

    10 pz $2,200 pesos  approx $177USD

    20pz $3,600 pesos approx $291USD

    30pz $5,400 pesos approx $436USD

She also told me they might be getting a light bamboo aisle runner... which would be easier then buying the rug.  Samantha if it doesn't work out with the bamboo then I'm most likely gonna buy the seagrass rug.  I'll keep u updated

Marissa you are on top of stuff... ur weddings after mine and u have it all worked out!  impressive.  What are you putting in your welcome bags?  Did you know there is a $3 charge to the bell boys for delivering them (said on my contract).  I'm deciding if I'll do one.  It is a really nice touch.  Also, I thought the cake was included...or did i make that up?

So weird about the entrees, I asked the same question when I was there.  I might ask if they'd do family style so that each table has some of each entree type and people can try what they'd like.

Thanks for the info on Ivan ...I might end up going with him too!

  9. Also-

Since I posted I've been emailing a lot with Saku from flores boda cancun (Latin asia flowers) and she has been GREAT!  I have sent her pictures of what I'm looking for, she has given me money saving tips and advice, and given me quotes.  She is the florist Allibe recommended!

I have also been emailing with gamanteles... for chair quotes.  I speak spanish so no communication break down.  They have also been relatively good at getting back to me.

I have been thinking about an aisle runner and scouring the internet for a roll of seagrass or some kind of woven one piece mat.  I see most people use those individual mats that the resort provides, but I dont like the look.  This is kind of what I'm looking for (the company is from australia and doesn't ship).  But i found a solution.  I think I'm going to order a custom rug in seagrass and use it as my aisle runner from http://www.naturalarearugs.com/customsizes ... If anyone is interested I can keep you updated on what I do, and maybe we could share the price (its not very expensive) if your wedding is after 3/30/12.  I'd have to talk to Luis to see if I could ship it to H3R.

    Has anyone booked live music?

What do you do for place cards, menu cards, etc .....print them at home and bring them down?

We are about to buy the tan suits today!  We found Michael Kors suits in a sand color for $123 from macys on clearance (originally $475!).  and shockingly they have all 6 sizes we need!  So yup a practical groomsmen gift... a new suit!  (I did the same for the bridesmaids, and bought their dresses for them as their gift an nice gesture to thank them and recognize flying and staying at H3R for the wedding will not be cheap)... total cost of $1500 for both girls and guys, but I think worth it.

  10.

    Hi girls!!

I'm booking Samuel Luna for photography.  He was recommended to me by a friend of a friend.  I like his photojournalistic style and he has fair prices.  I'm determining whether or not to get a videographer.  Also, I want simple flowers (cala lily bouquets and center pieces with some candles) so I guess I'm deciding who to use for flowers.  Any suggestions.  Allibe sent me who they normally work with: www.floresbodacancun.com

Is anyone having a band or a musician during the ceremony?  Anything besides mariachi?  Allibe said she does not recommend Ivan :(  I don't know who to listen too cause he has such good reviews on here.  She said he is not flexible and does not like last minute changes.  But like I said he has such great reviews on here.

We are doing a cocktail party the night before... to welcome all the guests, then having the rehearsal, and then a small rehearsal dinner in playa del carmen (Still have to find a restaurant).

As far as hair and make up I checked out the airbrush guy you just recommended and unfortunately I cant justify paying $375 for hair and make up just for me.  Any other suggestions?  I saw some people recommended fernando?  whats his website?

My FI and I are looking into menswear options, and I think we are going to buy a sand colored dress suit for all the guys as a gift... but have my FI be the only one wearing a tie.

Has anyone booked an officiant for a legal nonreligious wedding?

Anyone have any sweet traditions they are incorporating into their ceremony?  I love the joining of the sand.

How has the cocktail hour on the beach been?  Too much sand?  wish you would have done it somewhere else?

Our ceremony will be on the sand then the reception next to the pool.

As far as Luis, he does take a while to get back.  Allibe is better at getting back.  I also found if you ask a specific question they are more likely to respond than if as a general one.

Look forward to hearing from you all!

Well be doing our vendor visit hopefully in Oct.  Any advice on how to be prepared?
