Hey Ladies I cant believe after all of this time waiting that I can now say we are 4 weeks away from our wedding date! 11-4-11 on the beach at 4:00pm. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I dont know about you guys, but i gotta say that not only am I looking forward to marrying my best friend, but I get a vacation to boot??!!! How smart are we all for booking a destination weddings! So far Gustavo has been phenominal and I gotta say, he responds pretty quick. While Yamina was absolutely fabulous to start planning with, Gustavo seems to fill her shoes nicely! I have been to the Playa Mujeres Excellence before on vacation and I remember the lobby. It is my understanding that the cocktail hour takes place at the bar at the landing in the lobby. We are having a mariachi tro and I was wondering if anyone has any feedback as to whether this was loud or not? We definitely have the DJ for the after party! We are some dancing fools! Well if anyone thinks of anything that might be cool to know, drop me a line would ya? Thanks girls, you are the best!!

Hello Ladies!! I had to put a post up because I just cant believe that my wedding is only 4 weeks away! I am having a beach wedding and a reception on the Event Terrace. I am going to have the guitar player for the ceremony, the mariachi trio for the cocktail hour and a DJ for the reception. Has anyone booked the DJ and have any reviews for me? I have read that the guitarist is outstanding, how about the Mariachi Trio? From what I understand, the cocktail hour is in the bar in the main lobby at the bottom of the landing (I have been to Excellence, Playa Mujeres before). Does the trio play there and is it obnoxiously loud? Music is everything to my family, as well as myself, helps set the celebration mood. Just curious on any feedback. My last concern, I am having my hair and makeup done at the salon. Anyone have any "words of advice" on that venture?? I am going with the Gold Package and I have pictures of everything that I desire for my wedding. Flowers, makeup, hair. I am just going to use the photographer that comes with the package (we have some pretty darn good photographers in my family). To be honest, this feels way to easy. I send an email, Gustavo says it is taken care of, I made all of my selections and everyone rants about how beautiful everything is, so now I feel like I should stress out because it cant be this easy and I am forgetting something major!

Thanks Sharon, they actually wrote me back and have an opening! So happy! Now I just have to go over the budget ... I am really hoping that money tree I planted is gonna start growing anyday now ....

Thank you all for the excellent advice! Now I have some concrete data to bring back to my fiance to support my quest to move the time of our wedding later in the day. I just got word back that DelSol is not available on my wedding day of November 4. Major bummer, but they did recommend Elizabeth Medina. Her website shows some beautiful wedding photographs as well. Anyone out there used her services? Maybe you know her Matt?

SparkleSun .... absolutely stunning! What a sweetheart you are to share with us all. I completely agree about spending the money for the pictures. I love pictures, they take you right back to the moment and what a moment you had! Just beautiful! I must call DelSol and book them asap! My future husband wanted our wedding to be as early as possible, so I chose the 11am timeslot ... I am truly hoping that the reception will be as beautiful since we will night have the night sky to drape us on the terrace. All I can picture is being extremely hot! Did you find the wind bothersome at all during the ceremony on the beach? That was another of my fears.

You guys are the best! I knew that having the live music/Mariachi would bring something extra special and really set the mood for our Mexican wedding and SparkleSun, you absolutely confirmed that! Also makes me realize that it is probably cost effective to just go for the Gold wedding package. Yamina sent over the "My Wedding Planner" worksheet to fill out and I am trying to get this all nailed down before I send her the information. I would rather make my mind up and stick to it than keep making changes after I send her all the information. I do know that I would like pictures and pictures and pictures for the wedding .... any updates of local professional photographers anyone has found/used? Did anyone upgrade to one of the packages on the EPM price list?

Hi Everyone!! It has been said before, but I will say it again ... how lucky are we all to have this forum??? My wedding is at EPM on November 4, 2011. I used to think it was so far away, but we are now closing in on 6 months away, I am sooooo excited!! I was wondering if anyone has had or is considering the Mariachi band during the cocktail hour? I am thinking of the Silver Package, but will most likely chose the Gold. If I stuck with the Silver I was wondering if adding the band would be an exorbitant amount of money. Thank you all for the wealth of information!
