  1. I wasn't such a fan of their decor so I am having flowers. I've always wanted pink peonies so I'm having those imported. Spending way too much on flowers but it's something that's important to me. If you're looking for ideas, the resort uses a decor company called carribean celebrations. The website is: http://www.weddingsandeventsinpuntacana.com/ This is the vendor you will work with once you get closer to the wedding date on any flowers, lighting, chairs, linens, etc
  2. Hi Guys! I will definitely post pictures for you when I get back at the end of April. We chose the Aqua package but we aren't actually using any of the aqua decor - I just wanted the sit-down dinner, so this was the best option. We are also doing a Welcome Dinner for all guests the night before the wedding in lieu of a rehearsal dinner. It's actually one of the few things I didn't have to pay extra for - they just can't tell you the exact time/restaurant until the week prior. My biggest recommendation to all of you 2013 brides is to save every single email between you and your romance planner. There were many times they came back to me in the process with rates higher than originally quoted, and I had to send them emails from months prior. I'd also recommend you book the bridal suite if you can - it's a really beautiful room with mani/pedi table, platform to get your dress on, hair chairs, etc. This way you and your bridesmaids can get ready in your own private area (that isn't your bedroom). They can also bring in lunch/champagne. There is an added cost, but very worth it for me. For photos, I am using HDC - they did my best friend's wedding and were fantastic. Of course I booked before they instituted this new charge - that would have made me think twice. Any other specific questions, let me know!!!
  3. Hi guys - getting married here in about a month. Let me know if you have any questions! I did a site visit in August - happy to help any way I can. The Gabi is an additional charge of approx 9k to privatize the restaurant.
  4. My fiancé and I really want to serve champagne splits at the ceremony, but our resort doesn't have them. Does anyone have experience shipping things to the DR (particularly alcohol)? we also considered trying to find a local liquor importer in Punta Cana, but I'm not sure this will work out very well either. Thoughts?
  5. Hi Praye - the market grill is really nice. It's right off of the beach, which is the perfect location. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it has room dividers throughout it because it's really a restaurant. There's also a floor to ceiling divider that cuts right through the center. There is really no wide open area that would serve well for a dance floor for 50-60 people, in my opinion, but it would definitely be large enough to seat 100 guests for dinner. The other thing I didn't like is you can see the kitchen/buffet area - it's wide open. I really struggled with the decision of whether or not to choose that location, but decided against it. It's beautiful though!
