  1. Hey Trisha! I hope you haven't had any wedding nightmares lately! I think intimate weddings are great. FH and I are very happy with our decision to go with a destination wedding versus something traditional. We aren't really a traditional couple anyway. We'll be there 8 days/7 nights as well. Like you, I wish we had more time, but I think EPM includes an anniversary perk in their gold package, so it's something to look forward to. How long have you and your fiance been together? We are going to have a symbolic ceremony and get married here in Oklahoma at the court house, or justice of the peace or whatever they call it. J I just didn’t want to do the whole marriage certificate in Spanish, and worry about the blood test and all that stuff down there. We will go by August 19th as our anniversary date though, and not the date we get married here at home. I’ve heard that when you go to the courthouse to get married, it feels like you’re going to sign a few papers, and is just like signing mortgage papers or something! I’m feeling pretty much the same way you are, but I know that it’ll all work out. I’ve just had some dreams about my make up not being right and then I had a dream about the stylist cutting my hair off( I have long brown hair) and dying it blonde while I was there, and it freaked me out! But, that’s because I’m really big on my pictures, I want them to turn out good, and I’m a picture freak! Other than that, I’m feeling okay as of now! We are staying at the resort for a 7nights/8Days, so it’s a honeymoon/wedding. I would love to stay longer, but got to get back to work! We plan on taking another vacation in February (hopefully) though, and so that’ll be sort of like our honeymoon. I’m so excited though!! We have been together a long time and we are now making it official!
  2. Hey Trisha! Yes, I don't think I got your original reply. I am getting married at 5:00pm under the Gazebo!! I had considered the beach, but I was wondered that it would still be a bit too hot for my guests. That said, I hear it is a bit hard to get good pictures from the Gazebo because of how it's structured :-/ Our weddings are at the same time ...that's insane! LOL! My wedding party is very, very small. I have one MOH and there's no Best Man. We invited about 20 guests, and of those, only about 8-10 will realistically attend. I totally agree that a smaller guest list = less stress (and happier Bride!!) Are you having a civil or symbolic ceremony? My fiance and I will probably end up legally getting married in the U.S. and having the symbolic wedding in Mexico (but we won't tell anyone so as not to spoil the moment). I read somewhere that Yamina finalizes the details of every wedding a month prior to the date, so we still have time. In the meantime, I'm just finalizing things at home, like wedding gowns, wedding bands, welcome bags, etc etc. I'm sure I don't feel nearly stressed as I would if I was planning a traditional wedding, but I do feel the occasional split-second moment of panic for fear of missing some important detail. How are you feeling? Are you having your honeymoon at EPM also?
  3. Hi Trisha, I, too, am getting married at EPM on August 19th!!! How funny is that?!?! What time is your ceremony? Is it at the beach or under the gazebo? I am starting to feel anxious because there are still a ton of details that I have yet to confirm. Yamina has been great about responding to my questions via email, but sometimes it takes 2-3 days for her to respond. Tish
