Lauren you looked beautiful! Can't wait for the review!

OMG! Guys I'm freaking out... I just looked at the weather forecast and they are predicting rain for everyday that we are there, even my wedding day! I feel like there was so much planning, hard work, and money that went into this, I don't want it to be ruinned! A beach wedding was my dream wedding. I don't want to have gone through all of this trouble to have my dream wedding, and end up having to get married in a building without all the family and friends that I would have had at a local wedding. I don't know what to do, I'm freaking out!!!
Every source that I looked at during planning said the same thing: that turks and caicos does not get much rain over the course of a year. What are the odds of having 50% and 60% chances for every day that we are there?

Thanks for the advice girls!
Carole, I know exactly how you feel, we are leaving Monday!!! I hope it's not too hot!

It seems that I have lots of questions, since the date is inching closer (5 days until we leave!)... How did you all travel with your dresses? My airport suggests folding it and placing in the overhead compartment, but I REALLY don't want to smash it. Do you know if there is a steamer on the resort? Even still, I would be scared that my dress would shrink if it would be steamed. Am I crazy?

I read a review that stated that the resort is "cashless" and that you have to give them a credit card when you arrive and they give you a Beaches chargecard. Is this true? We were planning on bringing cash. Can you pay cash for the excursions/tours? Can you use cash in the giftshops?

OMG! You guys are scaring me. I have already paid for a photography package and video with Beaches. I hope they are more organized when we go! I wish I could have afforded to go with TI !!
-
Not to be a "debbie downer", but I find it really difficult communicating with Monica!
Anyways...7 days until we leave!!! I am so excited! I'm glad we get to work with someone different once we get to the resort.

Congrats Stella and AandA. You were both beautiful! Please post more pictures as soon as possible. I can't wait to see them!

Very cute! They look expensive!

Hi Viclee,The only music that is included is that they will play pre-recorded (cd, ipod) during your ceremony. These are the only things included in the BB package:
Personal wedding consultant
Marriage officiant
Certified copy of marriage license
Picturesque wedding location
One 5"x7" wedding photograph
Wedding Gift
Bouquet and boutonniere
Beautiful reception setting
Hors d'oeuvres & sparkling wine*
Preparation of documentation
Caribbean Wedding Cake
Continental breakfast in bed
Government / Administrative fees**
During those 30 min would be when you cut your cake, have the Hors d'oevres and your toast. If you truly want to save money, I suggest not purchasing music and going out to one of the bars after. Hope this helps

Also, what's the deal with the music (for both ceremony and reception) is that automatically included? I'm just trying to figure out what is extra as for we are trying to keep it as affordable as possible.
Oh, does anyone know the cheapest month(s) to go?
All your posts are very helpful~thank you!

Hey Misti, your pics were beautiful! We are paying for our pics ourself and I only wish I could afford Tropical Imaging. The vision in white theme comes with 12 pics and a video. I only added the 18 pics for $410. So... I will only have 20 pics of my wedding
Photography is sooooo expensive!

Hey Avelyad, I totally understand your frustrations with Monica! It feels like she is incovenienced by having to do her job. I find it REALLY difficult to communicate with her. I can't wait until I am able to communicate with someone else!

Awwwww, Misti, you were a beautiful bride! Thanks so much for the review. The Froggie ATV tour looks really fun, I think I might have to try it. Thanks for the heads-up about luggage mishaps.

Hi Mrssylvester2b and welcome! I will be getting married on June 2, 2011 (ur not far behind). I am planning a small ceremony also with only 6 guests. I was very excited when I found this site also; Isn't it wonderful to communicate with others who are experiencing the same process as you?
-
Thanks so much, Misti, for your advice! I will take the luggage issue into consideration when packing my carry-on bag. The advice about the Carribean Village was very helpful also. I was a little reluctant to stay there, but I feel more confident now. Congratulations on your wedding! I can't wait to read your review!

I feel like it's rediculous that we have to keep up with all of this. We shouldn't have to asked for updated discounts. Those prices should automatically be applied to our accounts!
-
Thanks Brandy, I look forward to the review!

Thanks everyone, for the welcome! It can be very difficult planning a destination wedding on your own. Being able to get advice from other girls who are experiencing or have already experienced this is very helpful and comforting. I'm just mad I didn't find this forum sooner!

Hi Kimterrance,
I'm not sure about the Island Paradise package but they are now offering to do any theme at sunset for an additional $600. I also know that you can choose a package and upgrade whatever you want (arch, flowers, cake) to a "higher" quality.
Hope this helps!

Yes, the cocktail hour is included in the three hour reception with hor'dervs (sp?) It is set up as 1 hr for cocktails and hor'dervs and 2 hour dinner/reception. We decided to go with a plated dinner. I actually sent in my dinner menu today. It includes an appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and desert. The 3 hr reception is $75/person.
I emailed Brilliant inquiring about prices but they still haven't responded. I have finally paid off the entire wedding, which include a photography package. If I decide to go with Brilliant, I wonder if Beaches will refund my money? This would allow me to have the picture quality that I want, and I could still use the pictures that come with the Vision in White package to cover my ceremony.

Hi Carolandchad,
What made you change to the French Village? I would love to change villages but since the resort is booked, I can't. I'm going with the vision in white theme; did you save a lot of money by switching (If this is none of my business, please don't reply)? I'm going with the 3hr reception, mainly for the cocktail hr. I'm going to be staying in my dress the entire time. I feel like with all the money paid for this dress, I wanna wear it as much as I can!
After reading so much about Brilliant, I am contemplating switching my photography package from Beaches to Brilliant. I alread paid for the 18 (5x7s) for $410 (REDICULOUS!) and my theme comes with 12 (5x7s) and the standard video. I was thinking about cancelling the additional 18 and getting some from Brilliant. There work seems to be 100 x better!
I been hearing a lot about those real touch flowers, what are they? I looked up the price of my bouquet and its over $300 (ouch)!

Hi Ladies,
My name is Sophia and I'm getting married June 2, 2011 at Beaches Turks and Caicos. We will be getting married at sunset (5 pm) due to the new $600 sunset price. I decided to go with the Vision in White theme. I am super excited! It will be an intimate ceremony with only 6 guests. We are doing the 3hr reception.
I found this forum while searching for realistic pictures of the Carribean Village rooms. I read some scary reviews of these rooms on other websites and now I'm doubting my decision in booking the Honeymoon Junior Suite in the Carribean Village. I called the resort, but the entire resort is booked during our stay, so I can't switch villages. Any testimonies? Advice?

Carole: We are having the 3 hr reccption. During cocktail hr. we will have a guitarist. Since we only have 6 guests, we decided to have an intimate dinner with no music. We won't be doing the traditional dancing, etc. We will be having a huge reception when we return home, which is where all the music and dancing come in..... We may however go to one of the bars after dinner to celebrate with some music and dancing.
Thanks lauren for the great review!
I will have a review for everyone when we return!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
