I have been looking through this site searching for more reviews on Jennifer Smith from Marry Me Akumal or Turtle Bay Cafe. We originally met with Jennifer based on reviews here but are now having reservations and are looking for more insight. After looking through the reviews a second time, it looks like all of the good reviews are by the same person. I wish we would have realized that before we booked her. Are there any others out there that could share their experiences? We originally booked Jennifer because her food was so great but since our original meeting, I don't have much confidence if receiving information or guidance from her. We're having serious second thoughts and if we're going to change wedding coordinators, we're running out of time to do so. The main thing is we're lacking guidance. We've been doing almost everything on our own so far. What should we be expecting from her? Did we pay her a WC fee only so she can book the officiant and set up the decorations on the day of the event? Is that really all a WC is supposed to do? What services have others received from their WCs? From what I gather, it seems like other coordinators are a lot more involved and helpful. They've even put together the name cards and helped with party favors, etc. The hardest part is her lack of communication is really just ruining the wedding experience for me. Any time I get excited about something or have questions, I have to ask 2 or 3 times and it takes 1-2 weeks for a response. At that point, I am too frustrated to be excited anymore. It's like she's robbing me of my wedding experience. I am just worried if I am this apprehensive now, only one small thing needs to happen on the day of the event and I will blow up. My expectations are so low and I get aggravated just thinking about needing something from her and not receiving it. Please let me know what your expectations are of your wedding coordinator --am I asking too much? Is it worth another trip to Mexico to try another coordinator's food? Also, if you have any experience with Jennifer Smith that you can share, that would help in maybe calming me down or making the final decision to part ways. Thanks!!!
