Last week, I get a photo of the dress from Giananar saying they finished my dress.  It looks like this.

So I ask why it's shiny and not in chiffon as they stated they were going to make it and they wrote back "thanks for your email

sorry, we will put chiffon layer on it then send you the new photos"   Do you think it will look weird in the shiny fabric or will the chiffon cover it?  Right now it looks too much like a nightgown or real slip.

I am sure when they originally said chiffon, they probably meant chiffon with satin under...which is essentially what they did, minus the chiffon overlay. I am sure it will look much better once they place the chiffon over. Chiffon is very thin and usually is layered and layered so it makes total sense to have satin under as well.

I just ordered my bridesmaid dress from them as well. They are great at their communication which really eases my mind. They even allowed me to order 1 bridesmaid dress first. to see the quality, at the price of ordering 5. My bridesmaid dresses are primarily chiffon as well, with satin underneath. I do have to agree with prettypigpig that the original and the replica both do look like a slip so I don't think it's an issue of craftsmanship. I am sure the chiffon will help a lot, and how you accessorize =)

I ordered my dress with Babyonline.  It's a recplica of Maggie Sottero Fantasia with some small changes.  I went with Babyonline because overall, I felt they did a better job with making dresses.  I may just be very picky, but other dress makers I've seen just seem to having something off.  Either I didn't like how something was stitched, cut, or designed.  I had a coworker that ordered from Duosheng, and she loved her dress, but it was a very simple, which I figured must have been easy to make.  I have seen some of their work, and they seem to do a great job. They also seem to have great quality fabrics, but didn't trust them with the complexity of my dress.

I had requested a quote from Duosheng and found out they have several types of lace, but communicating with them was very difficult because I wanted a replica of Monique Lhuillier Magical which is actually a two-piece dress.  However, I wanted a top like this, but at the time I asked for the quote I hadn't decided on it yet. It was so difficult finding a picture of the skirt alone, but when I finally did, they still didn't really understand.  They quoted me almost 300 dlls for the skirt, and were insisting that I choose a top.  When I finally found that top I liked, I sent it to them and the price went up to just under 500.  I thought it was way too much, especially since the skirt isn't very detailed.

BTW, I've been looking for a jacket that would match my dress, but I'm having a very hard time. I also always wanted to wear a veil with a lace border, which again, doesn't match my dress.  I'm thinking of getting a second dress very similar to the one you like, but the inspiration is from Princess Grace's wedding dress.  I think I'm going to wait until I get my first dress, and if everything comes out good I'll order the second one which will be my conservative church ceremony dress. :)

Gracimurano, your dress is absolutely beautiful! Once again, I'm so happy to have ordered from babyonline.  :D

i would be really interested to see the replica of the Fantasia. I actually ordered the authentic Fantasia for my wedding gown. Perhaps I will order a replica for my trash the dress. Please post pictures once you get your proofs! It's a hard skirt to replicate from what I have heard.

  3. I fully understand that shipping is delayed due to holidays and weather BUT a seller should be able to tell you:

    1. If the item was made

    2. If they shipped it

    3. A valid tracking number

Yes, other sellers such as Gianinar and Monica Bridal have been very trustworthy. My experience is solely based on my experience with Babyonline - who cannot do any of the above.

I am glad some of you had a pleasant experience with Babyonline, but this is not a matter of shipment delays, but their inability to provide customers with information on their order "Oh we shipped your dress, oh we have to send it to a new factory, oh we actually never made it." I mean c'mon! Unless you are overly optimistic or just plain gullible, I think any person, would and has the ABSOLUTE RIGHT to question and hound the eff out of them regardless of holiday, weather, lack of factory workers, etc - that is unless you enjoy being duped and have tons of money to burn. If they had told me the shipment delay was due to the holidays, was able to tell me the date my package was sent, and provided a VALID tracking number, then all would be good.

Oh and just to give you guys a little example of how they are attempting to "fix" things. Basically asking me to fork over more money for a sample dress so they can send the dress and second attempt of fabric samples over together. Trying to sweeten the deal with, "big discount" and "free shipping."

    Dear JACKIE ,

Really sorry, we can apply for refund to you, but we think there is a good way to solve this.

Since you have paid for the fabric, you can choose one dress as sample from us, and we give you a big discount, then send by UPS, the postage we will offer you free.

Then we will send you the fabric and dress together by UPS which has tracking number and quick to deliver.

So what is your opinion? We really want to do more business with you.

    Best wishes

    Babyonline

  4. Michelle Your situation sounds very similar to mine - a system generated tracking code but no shipment. Did you call USPS? They will be able to tell you if the package was ever scanned at any ports. For me it's not a huge loss ($30). But I am certainly glad I ordered fabric samples and was able to experience their poor service before forking any additional money out to them. Dhgate has a buyer protection guarantee but it takes a while for them to process. If you add their Facebook page, you can leave comments to their customer service team and someone will respond right away. They followed up for me and pretty much found the same shady info I got. Perhaps you should wait until the original arrival date and if you still dont get your dress, I suggest you contact customer service and start a dispute to get your money back. You can also issue a claim thru paypal if that was your form of payment. I really hope they do send your dress through, but if they don't, get that money back! Good luck!

  5. I think storms and the new year have nothing to so with being able to provide honest customer service and provide an explanation as to why none of the postal websites have info and can't track your package. Seems simply fishy to me. Luckily for you Bonnie, you worked with a trustworthy seller who was able to communicate clearly and not give you the run around. I would hate for any bride to have to go through what I am with their wedding gown! I honestly just don't feel that babyonline is a provider of consistent service anymore.

  6. Hi Karen

yea its been insane communicating with them. they keep pulling out excuse after excuse after excuse "its in the USA but there is a storm".....WHAT STORM?????? Every tracking website (USPS and China post) has no information on my package except for the destination country being USA and that is it. I'll give them until the end of this week. I think you should definitely hound them about it, but i have a good feeling they never mailed your dress.

Oh and they denied my refund claim...what a joke. I'll be escalating it to a DH.gate assisted claim soon. I would really suggest not working with them anymore. I thought they were reputable but, as you can see, they aren't and all i ordered were fabric swatches. Brides should really be aware. Babyonline is not a reliable seller.

  7. i ask bc i requested fabrice swatches from them, paid $30 for shipping and it's been over 2 weeks and nothing. i called USPS and tracked the package...rep told me the package label was made but never left their warehouse!! Babyonline swears they sent it yet there is no record of it in transit. really frustrates me because i had heard good things about them...now this!

Wondering if anyone has ordered BM dresses from a reputable seller from china? if so, who and please post pics. This is the dress I want to have made for my BMsbmaid dress.jpg

  8. so ladies i have been reading through tons of these threads. just a good topic. so the reason for my interest is for my bridesmaids. I already have my wedding gown. i tried babyonline recently and paid $30 for them to ship me fabric swatch samples before i order the dresses. Well its been literally over 2 weeks! they said they sent the package but when i called USPS and provided the tracking number, the rep told me the package was scanned in their warehouse but has never left. Babyonline swears they sent it and that its delayed because of the new year, but really?? if it was sent then why doesnt it show in transport status for USPS? just seems fishy to me. 2 weeks for some fabric samples? i really want to trust them, but this is not starting off good. has anyone else ordered BM dresses from babyonline and encountered issues?

anyone order BM dresses from a china seller?... and if so, please post pics. I really want this bari jay dress for my BMs. bmaid dress.jpg
