  1. Hi all! So it's official, our wedding date is set for July 20th 2011 - just received confirmation from the resort today. Very exciting - it's going to come so fast too LilyRose - we booked through a TA and AC Vacations, we found they had the best rates and I wanted to use an agent to make the process smoother since we were booking as a group. We have 11 guests (including ourselves) staying on the resort, and 4 guests staying off the resort coming on for the wedding day. I spoke with Karolin at the resort she was really helpful. We aren't planning to do a private dinner for our guests, I think we'll just reserve a section of one of the resort restaurants - Aspara sounds really nice. We are thinking about chartering a sailboat for our guests though, as a thank you for attending - maybe the day before or the day after the wedding. I totally agree with you about booking a group, we encountered more difficulties than expected. All of our closet friends and family knew about our plans way in advance and everyone seemed to be on board, but in the end, a number of people complained about the price. I do understand where people are coming from, but I was certainly more stressed about booking than I thought I would be because of this. Oh well, in the end it's about the couple getting married and and what you want, that is the important thing to remember!!! I'm starting to plan for the AHR, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as well. We initially wanted to do it at one of our parents' houses, but now I'm having second thoughts about that - even if we get it catered I worry it'll put too much stress on our parents as the hosts. Alternatively if we have to rent a venue, this can get pretty pricy too. We'll have to weigh our options a bit more and see what works best. We are thinking of holding the AHR about a month after the wedding. When is everyone planning to hold your receptions? I'm also thinking about doing gift bags for our guests staying on the resort, with some cute items like flipflops, sunscreen, maybe a personalized welcome note, stuff like that. Is anyone else doing this? I'm wondering about shipping this stuff to the resort in advance but I'm a bit worried about the cost. More planning to be done and only 5 months away...wow.
  2. Glad to hear you are all booked MrsWilliams1111 - I'm sure the resort will be great! Thanks for the tips LilyRose - I have been checking out both websites for Anse Chastanet & Elope to Paradise often - both are very helpful. We called the resort last week too and they were lovely and answered our many questions. We are confirming our booking today - very excited! Then it'll be time to focus on the wedding details... Not sure where we'll do the reception yet - Anse Mamin looks really nice, thinking of doing the ceremony there since it's very private and a bit away from the resort. I think we may wait until we get to the resort to decide though....sometimes it's hard to know just from pictures, you have to see it in person. How many guests are you bringing for your wedding?
  3. MrsWilliams1111 - I had a friend who got married at Almond Morgan Bay a couple of years ago. She had a wonderful experience there and her photos are really beautiful. Hope that helps with your decision making!
  4. Hi LilyRose! Exciting that you are getting married at Jade Mountain, it looks amazingly beautiful. We chose Anse Chastenet for that reason too and are excited that it's a smaller, more eco-friendly resort with some pretty spectacular views too! We haven't confirmed everything just yet, but it's looking like our wedding date will be either July 20 or 21 most likely (this year - so coming up soon!) ...just starting to work with the resort now and getting our guest numbers finalized. How have your interactions been with the resort so far? I would appreciate any advice you can offer. BBSL I would love to hear how you wedding was - where on the Island did you get married?
  5. Hi Everyone! I never thought I would join a chat room, but here I am! I'm getting married July 2011 at Anse Chastanet in St. Lucia. Really excited, as I've heard St. Lucia is one of the most beautiful islands in the caribbean! Is anyone else planning a wedding at Anse Chastanet, or has anyone stayed at this resort before? I would love to hear your thoughts if so. Looking forward to getting some good planning tips from this site Jess
