Hi ladies - Well we got married at DLR on Saturday and it was AMAZING!! I threw this wedding together in 7 weeks and was terrified but it was better than I could have even imagined. I am in the process of writing up a thorough review but I see that many of you are getting nervous so wanted to post and let you know how great everything was. As for Tiara, her last day at work was Friday but she stayed an extra day to do my wedding but she is now officially on maternity leave. So do not expect to hear back from her. I asked Yanna if she was going to have help and she said yes but didn't provide any details on who was taking over for Tiara. They were both running around the whole time I was there so they are clearly juggling a lot but I am confident that all of your weddings will turn out wonderful! I also saw some postings while I was away about the new rules on having an outside photographer. I would definitely get yourself grandfathered in if possible. My ONLY complaint was about the resort photographer, not so much about the quality of the photos but their tactics, but I will give more details in my review. In the meantime here is a sneak peak!!

Hello ladies!! The big day is a week from tomorrow (3/19) and we head down to DR on Wednesday morning (3/16). Planning to do our "secret" civil ceremony here on Tuesday before we leave. We threw together this wedding in about 6 weeks so I pray everything comes out beautiful since I haven't had the luxury of planning in advance. I haven't posted much but I do promise to take the time to type up a thorough review with photos since the previous reviews have been so tremendously helpful! I will also admit that I'm quite a bit nervous that Tiara may not be there as she is the WC that I have been working with. But I will stay positive and keep my fingers crossed!! Thank you all for generously taking the time to post your plans, ideas, tips, and emotions as they have been not only helpful but extremely comforting. Latinblond - March 19, 2011 YEAH!!!!!

Hi ladies!! I have been following this thread for about a week or two and just want to say that you are all a bunch of lifesavers. My fiance and I want to get married pretty quickly (no not pregnant yet ) and thanks to all your posts we decided that Dreams La Romana was the place. I just received confirmation from Tiara yesterday that we are booked for March 19, 2011!! So that only leaves me 51 days to plan this wedding which is why I am so thankful for this forum. We booked the Ultimate package for 20 people and figured that way we wouldn't have to sweat some of the details. Now I must admit that it has been challenging to try and read 190 pages of postings so I was looking for some guidance/advice on a couple of things: Music - I'm torn between using the DJ and packing my Bose sound dock. It seems that many of the brides end up creating their own iPod playlists (which I probably will do too) so I'm not sure I see the value in getting the DJ but at the same time I really don't want to lug speakers with me. My question is: if I don't get a DJ and I don't bring speakers does that mean I have absolutely no music at the ceremony? I appreciate any feedback/suggestions on the subject. Wedding Script - We are planning on a symbolic ceremony and I'm wondering if there is a standard script they use as a starting point or am I on my own to create one from scratch? Any samples are greatly appreciated. Gifts/Welcome kits - I think this is more of an etiquette question. Since we planned our wedding on short notice and didn't want any of our closest family/friends to miss it we paid ALL expenses for our core 15 guests. So do you think we still need to do welcome kits/baskets? While I think its a nice touch I don't have time and would love to save the added expense. Also, do I still need to buy gifts for MOH and best man? I appreciate any feedback or comments and thank you for sharing!!! Yvette
