  1. Hi Everyone!

We are back from our Wedding - we were married on the beach Tulum! it was fantastic! Jazmin and her assistant did an amazing job! they are complete pros. Everything went perfectly. The dinner was great, and the pool side reception was great!

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help and wish all the future brides best wishes - and don't stress they are pros!

    Thanks

  2. Hi Everyone! i've been reading for sometime - i've looked into getting one of my friends that is a photographer to come down to do the pictures. i know a few of you have done this - have you run into any problems with this? i can pay for someones trip to come to mexico and take pictures for our whole day and its a 1/4 of the price of the resort photographers! Any advice!

    Thanks! :)

    PS i leave in 3.5 weeks :) Married Nov 3, 2011 at Tulum :)

  3. Hi cdillad,

if this shows up twice i'm sorry - doesn't look like it worked the first time.

It looks like i have the same agenda as you but i'm getting married on the beach (Nov 3, 2011) anyway my question is that i was going to wait to do the speechs during the pool side reception because they would have a microphone there. I'm concerned the guests won't be able to hear well at the restaurant. We have about 50 people so i'm not sure how spread out everyone would be - how did you find it for yours?

    Thanks so much!

I was too nervous on my wedding day to eat, but there was definitely plenty of food at Gran Tortuga.  And we had our own section to the side, so it seemed private.  There were other people on the other side of the restaurant, but I didn't even notice them.  We even had speeches at the restaurant and everything.

  4. Hi Cdillad,

It appears that i have the same set up as you - however i was going to wait to do the speeches at the dance - my fiance said that he doesn't really like that idea because then everyone is standing. How was it with having no microphone? could everyone hear alright? we have about 50 guests and my fear is everyone will be so far away!

And from the pictures the WC provided it looks like we got the same poolside package reception as you did - was it a lump sum cost for you?

    Thanks! :)

Thank-you very much for the information.  I appreciate it.  I have 78 people coming.  Does that mean that I cannot do a poolside dinner?  Maybe, I should just do an after party instead?

    Thanks again.

  6. We live away from our family - so our wedding we aren't doing a reception here.

And no i'm doing symbolic - not a fan of giving blood in Canada - so mexico is def. out of the question! :)

  7. I was quoted $3300 for reception (dinner included) by the pool. How much was it per person for you?

The pricing is very confusing for the poolside reception, which stinks.  Basically, the dinners include an hour (maybe two of drinks) but there is a 50 person minimum.  I had the Grill option which is a 35 person minimum but they told me I couldn't have it for my wedding because it was plastic silverware.  Honestly, I didn't care!  I wanted my reception outside and I couldn't very well magically come up with 15 extra people!  So after so pleeding I got the grill option with 35 people (I actually only had 32 people, but I paid for 35).  Turns out, I got fancy china and silverware and the full service bar anyways!  So if you really want your reception (dinner included) out by the pool, as about that option.

Someone asked about a veil.  I had one.  I tried it on the day before the wedding.  I did not wear it.  It was FAR too windy at the Hammock location and it would have been wrapped around my head.  This doesn't happen every day, obviously, and if you're willing to stand on the right side and your FI stand on the left side it might not be as bad.

Natty, if you stay at the Akumal side, your wedding has to be at the Akumal side, which with any sizeable group I'm pretty sure has to be the hammock location.

  8. dfranklin -

She said it includes the following:
"1´180usd per 50people maximun and 3 hours of special drinks (piñas coladas, margaritas, sparkling wine & beers) +  special ilumination + sound equipment + speakers + microphone + lights and DJ- very nicely decorated" and she sent me pictures.

Maybe its the time of the year - i'm getting Married Nov 3, 2011 ?? More than we wanted to spend but want the whole first dance/speeches thing.

  9. I was quoted $1000.00 extra for the Poolside reception for a max. of 50 people? She said that included DJ and everything?! Hmmm?!

i didn't get the breakdown that you got! I totall agree that it seems everything is extra we went down a package because we realized that alot of things weren't included!

I haven't had a hard time keeping in contact with our WC - we have Jazmin

  10. Hi Cystalz - i'm also going the week of Oct 31 - Nov 7 - we are getting married on the 3rd (because the 2nd was booked) hah!

are you doing a private pool side reception? are you bringing decorations? :)
