We considered Tabacon for our wedding but it turned into a larger affair than I had anticipated so we are having the ceremony at Villa Caletas and Honeymooning at Tabacon. My Fiance was an exchange student when he was in college and lived just outside of San Jose and has raved about Arenal, LaFortuna and Tabacon since day one! I am really excited about going. I have read a lot of reviews and would suggest researching alternative dining options if you are watching your spending during your stay. Hotels in Costa Rica tend to charge what you would expect an upscale hotel to charge for food, I'm talking $18 for a burger...not to mention sales tax is 13%! But if you head into town you are likely to find places to dine that are a little less pricey. Unfortunately I haven't attended a wedding here so I can't give you any advice, however I would suggest to you to check out TripAdvisor.com, that's the site I have been researching most often for information about the areas we plan to visit, whats nearby, etc. I found this comment about a wedding in the comments section for Tabacon: “The most relaxing wedding experience.â€

"I went with my 6 member family ( 20,18,10,4,47 and 60 years old) to my niece wedding at Tabacon this past January. The experience was very relaxing, all of us enjoyed every minute, the setting was just perfect, the ceremony was at sunset, the food was the best, the atmosphere was very friendly, the people at the Hotel and Spa were very nice. I definitively recomend Tabacon as a wedding setting if you intend to marry in a very unique way." Wish I could give you more feedback, I hope you have a great time-Congrats!
