  1. I had so much fun planning my wedding (back in 2011) that I had to come on today to see whats been going on in the Azul thread.

I had 51 guests, and I can't begin to tell you how many times my family/friends bring up their time at Azul and our wedding week.  We all had the time of our lives, and I get asked CONSTANTLY about a 5 year reunion! hahahha

Enjoy this time ladies, it goes by quickly but not without a world of memories made.
    :)

    Happy Planning!

Make sure to check out the italian restaurant, and Kampai (asain) when you are at the El Dorado!

:)      (awesome tips from Murmel of course)

    ENJOY!

One question - for your invitations (which are the best I've seen) - do you have an email or etsy site to contact Meagan Clopton, Branchville Studio in Texas? I would love to see if she would be able to assist me with my invites.

    Thanks!

Thank you so much!!!  I am glad you enjoyed the pics!!!  :)

    Hey Kelly,

I do, just PM me your email address...the file sizes were too big to share on this site.

    :)

Thanks so much for the compliments, truly, its so nice to hear others appreciate your hard work!  :)

I don't know what you do for a living but you know you could easily change careers and duplicate what you did for your wedding and just customize the duplication for all of the other brides.

Holy cow, that looks like a LOT of work and and a lot of creative thinking/planning/researching, etc.  I bet your wedding will be talked about by all of your guests for years to come!

    Congratulations! Great job! Beautiful dress!

lol....thanks so much!!!  How funny is it that I work in Athletics!?  hahahhaa......my travel agent tried to get me to start up on the side...it would be a lot of work!!!

It was very time consuming for a good part of a year, but I think well worth it...I had a ton of fun seeing how far my creative juices could take me!  :)

I am sure you are doing lots of awesome things for your big day too!  Enjoy it all!

(Just came back yesterday from Mexico for a babymoon! lol...saw lots of weddings on the beach, they were beautiful!!!!!!)   You will love every minute!

    :)

    ENJOY!

  4. YEAH!!!!  Congrats on your date confirmation!!!

    :)

Have fun with the rest, and its perfect, you have lots of time now to plan and read!  :)

I know exactly what you mean, another hard part for me was deciding once and for all what I was going to do, and not do....I took on a lot of DIY projects, and would do it all again, it was appreciated so much by all my guests.

    :)

    Happy planning, enjoy!

I'm already finding so many valuable things on this site, I think I may have a hard time deciding what to do b/c I love it all! LOL

So relieved we finally have the date & place set you're right definitely the hardest part!!

    Thanks again =)

  5. No probelmo!

    Good choice  ;)

Murmel - THANKS!!  I will do that.  $10 extra just to wrap the bouquet so we're bringing our own ribbon!

  6. Hello,

Hopefully you hear soon, that was the worst part for me, nailing down a date!!!!  :)

You will be assigned an off-site coordinator (they are in Miami) and they help with the details as you go....OR you could do what most of us did on this site..use all the girls of present and past, as you get the inside tips and tricks from the best!!!  ;)

I would suggest going back and reading as much of this thread as you can...you will know EVERYTHING and then some on what is offered that is good/no so good etc.

    (it is also overwhelming....so beware)

Enjoy this time planning, have FUN...and though you won't believe me when I tell you now, but you really could plan it all once you get down there....your first day you will have a meeting with caterers, wedding coord. managers etc. and they go through ALL of your options with you there!  So don't stress too much!

You will love the Sensatori...we were married there in October 2011, and I had the time of my life!!!!!

    :)

Seems like everything is already booked, so keep your fingers crossed for us please today =)

So while I'm waiting to hear back, can anyone help a newbie out with what we should do once the date is confirmed?

When do all the details like menu options get discussed with the rep?

We're hoping it will be May of next year =)

    Thanks so much so excited!!

  7. I opted for "ivory" flowers as I wanted it to match my dress, and they were WAY off....I now wish that I had done more color in my bouquet as to not have such varying colors of whites....

I like the idea of the coral in your bouquet to match our daughters dress.

    :)

    Good luck

Or something a little more colorful with salmon and peach roses (I do not want full on vibrant colors - they're pretty; just not what I'm going for):

I have no bridesmaids but my 12 year old daughter is participating in the ceremony and wearing a coral colored dress.  Opinions???  Thanks!

  8. You go girl!  :)

I found a company Fresa Weddings (great reviews online & very prompt to responding to emails). The company quoted me $650 for the fire dancers for a 25 minute show. I also noticed that they did flowers, cakes, and decorations, so I priced them against what I was getting at Sensatori.

Then I saw a post about the free Welcome Cocktails and someone using it for the wedding cocktail hour. (I was using mine for the day before.) I contacted my wedding coordinator at Azul and asked if I could use that free cocktails for my wedding cocktail hour instead...and she said yes! That is saving me about $1,200.

With Azul I would have gotten the flowers, sheers for the gazebo and a cocktail hour, but going with Fresa Weddings  I am getting the flowers, sheers for gazebo, cake pops, and a fire dancer show for only $300 more. And yes, the price difference does include the vendor fee.

    YAY!

  9. Thank you!

I got the wooden necklaces/bracelets at Walmart!!  :)

It was just to be a little "in addition to" part of the gift, but our moms loved them and wore them all week...lol

The picture frames were from Walmart as well.

    :)

    Happy Planning!
