  1. Hi all!

In the midst of all the planning...we are starting to accumulate a lot of stuff! I'm trying to clear out room (and my fiance would like me to get rid of stuff)!!

I have a couple of things for sale:

    2 Planning Books:

-Destination Weddings for Dummies (retail $19.99)

-The Knot Guide to Destination Weddings (retail $19.99)

The DW for Dummies book has some creases in the cover but overall both books are basically like new.  Asking for $20obo for both.

    1 Wedding Planner:

-Instant Wedding Planner by: Jennifer L. Shawn (retail $14.95)

Asking $10obo for this planner.  I wrote in pen on only two pages, but the book is like new otherwise!

1 Photo Album Set: BRAND NEW, STILL SEALED IN ORIGINAL PACKAGE

It's a set of 3 mini albums.  Each album holds 100 4x6 photos.  Each album is a separate category -- they are "The Bridal Shower" "The Wedding Day" and "Honeymoon Memories".

    *asking $20obo

PM me if you have any questions or are interested!

  2. Hi DiamondGirl,

Sorry I haven't been back in awhile-- Valeria has been pretty decent! Yes, it does take her 1-2 weeks to respond to a question but she's been so nice and helpful with all of her answers when she does reply! I just make sure to include as many questions as possible in each email!  I will post my questions here very soon!

She's pretty slow in responding to my emails but at least I'm getting a response from her. I think it helps that I have a wedding specialist contacting her on my behalf and that's the reason she's responding. Be persistent and resend the email. If all else fails..... email Janina Mendoza at the miami office.

  3. I didn't find them on either website :( if anyone knows where else I can look for them please let me know!

And thanks for the heel information - I am looking for 4.5 in heels and the ones I ordered seemed way too tall so I got confused! I think we're all good now!

I believe she found them on Zappos...I have these shoes as well since the B.M's didn't work out.... I found mine on 6pm.com for 29.95 a month or so ago in Gold....They are absolutely beautiful!

My dress has been tailored to a 4.5" heel...so I'm trying to figure out which heels will work!

so if there is a 1 inch platform and a four inch heel you still have a four inch shoe but the heel height won't seem so hard to walk in with the platform which is usually around the front part of the shoe so it's like walking in a 3 inch shoe with the platform....like this:

Badgley Mischka - Randee see there's a one inch platform with a 4.5 inch heel.

  5. I agree with this! I'm just adding the photographer to my list of "guests" and buying them a day pass.

I left the issue go and after being on this forum I decided to just hire an outside vendor anyway. I simply just purchased a day pass for them and there was absolutely no issue with them being there. 6. that's really funny i like it!

I thought it fit perfectly and would be pretty funny.

To match the song, after the woman catches the bouquet, we're thinking of telling the DJ to announce "We have a winner! We'll have the Best Man cleaned and brought to your table later."

What song are you ladies choosing?

  7. This is pretty good! The only think my photographer suggested was to get all of the "important moments" out of the way early so they aren't missed later.  Our photographer isn't staying the entire reception (we're using the extra time to do bride/groom pics before the reception) so we're doing the cake cutting, first dances, etc all before dinner.

    Arrival of guests

    Intro of Bridal Party

    Intro of Newlyweds

Dinner (during dinner have the speeches by MOH and Best Man and toasts)

    First Dance

    Bride/Father Dance

    Groom/Mother Dance

    Cake Cutting

    Everyone get down and boogy

What are you ladies doing? What is your format going to look like? I have been to 6 weddings already for the year and sadly I can't even remember what the format was like. I was just at two on Saturday alone....lol. I'm attending another one this Saturday, perhaps I will pay better attention. Would love to hear your thoughts though.

  8. Completely agree with most of these! The only good thing about the cupid shuffle is that EVERYONE usually comes up to dance to it b/c they know how to do it!

My fiance also unfortunately refuses to have Madonna or Lady Gaga played at the reception.

Also, I know a lot of people like them, but the cha-cha slide, casper slide, electric slide, cupid shuffle are all banned for me!!

  9. Instead of a traditional guest book I'm doing individual notecards in my wedding colors.  It's more for "well wishes" then people's addresses.  There will be a table with a large hurricane vase in the middle with approx 300 notecards (in green, yellow & orange) on either side of it with envelopes.  People can write their wishes on the card and drop it in the vase.

I figured this way I can decide after the reception how I want to display all the wishes.  Frame some of the special ones and create my own guestbook afterwards!

  10. that is beautiful!

I know most B2B are from the US & Canada so I dont know how well you know England. I live in the South East approximately 25 miles from London in the county of Kent. We have lots of glorious countryside around the town where I live and we wanted to take advantage of this and have chosen a venue to reflect this.

Its called the Hop Farm and is the largest collection of Victorian Oast Houses in the world, they have a lovely reception room with beams, covered in Hops etc. We are only have an evening reception with a dance floor and of course lots of booze. I cant wait as we have approx 200 people to invite as due to the distance we are travelling to get married we only have 16 people travelling with us to Mexico.

    I hope you like xx

  11. I agree - the "normal" wedding checklists usually end up being pretty helpful!

  12. I think you can have it as quickly (or slowly) after your DW as you want! You might want to do it quickly if you don't want to drag out the "I'm getting married" for months and have your family and friends get sick of you :)

I am getting married in Cancun 2/19/11 and having the AHR 3 weeks after.  We wanted it even sooner, but realized we would need time to harass people for rsvps, do the seating chart etc and didn't want to feel stressed.
