My wedding was supposed to be the 3rd of may 2011 and she worked with me to get everything i dreamed of ....I am sure she can help youOriginally Posted by chan_porty
Hi ladies,
I have contacted Tropical Weddings Jamaica as I am so frustrated with IRHS. I have so many unanswered questions and feel as though the resort is not very accommodating (ie: charging per person for dinner and drinks although it is all inclusive, having to pay $800 to rent restaurant etc..). Unfortunately, my wedding is May 9th 2011 so I'm not sure that Tropical Weddings Jamaica can help me with only 8 weeks left until we get married.
Maybe some of you can help answer my questions?.... If I do not rent out Calabresh, can I still have a microphone for speeches and such? Can I still have my first dance in the restaurant or do you need to rent it out to have control of the music being played and to have a space made for first dance?
I am just so frustrated with all of this. Other destination wedding couples that I have spoken to say that they never had to pay extra for food or to rent out restaurant. I really wish that I would have chosen a different resort

I just received this from Temieca ( ibersostar Rose Hall beach)
"Hello Vaneska:
The photographers and the makeup artist will have to purchase a day pass of US$50 per person see attached as they are not making a delivery, so the information below does not apply to them. The hotel allow persons for delivery to be on property for up to 30 minutes maximum without a charge and they are not granted access to a room. Once they are staying pass that time they will be charged accordingly. Also please advise the photographer and the makeup artist that they should an ID with them as this will be needed by the front desk to issue the pass.
Also kindly forward the names of these persons to us and I will send the information to the security office so they can grant them access to the property, and please advise if the pass/passes will be charged to your room or they will be paying directly.
If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Warmest regards,
Tameica Sinclair"

Its so awesome to see so many brides using Almarie Walters of Tropical Weddings Jamaica!!! Since i switched i have no regrets!!! She is amazing!!! We are going to have the wedding of our dreams for the same price as Iberostar BUT with out the headache of the poor service from the resort.
If anyone is on the fence- i strongly recommend you use her!!! She is so Professional and quick to respond and negotiate to get everything you want for your Big day

When i spoke to PRINCESSJ -she said that Temeica charged Her a $500.00 set up fee for her reception ....plus the buyout (800.00) for uncle Tonys... you donRH for the wedding package that would go to Almarie...Originally Posted by daisymable
Did you still have to pay for the wedding package at IBRH? Did you only have to pay for your reception? How far is the drive from IBRH to Cinnamon Hill? I emailed Almarie last night and she got back to me this morning but since the WC at IBRH won't answer any of my emails, I don't want to go ahead with anything until I know how much I'll have to spend there for the reception etc. Did you have to pay to have some pictures taken at the great house?

hmm, are you worried if you show up and no ocean front rooms are available? i hear they are limited........
thats a great idea for the guys to share a room! 200 for a sep room is too pricey!

My FI will be staying in his brother's room or one of his friend's room the night before. We definitely didn't want the expense of another hotel night.

i will be there i will take the parasols!!! Can you give them to dan?? since he is shooting us it would be super easyOriginally Posted by downtownlagirl
Hi ladies,
We are bringing down a number of decor items for our April 30 wedding in Montego Bay. Most of this is NOT coming home with us. We had considered donating it but so far haven't gotten recommendations on how to do this from our WC. Right now it looks as though we will have: enough clean (sanitized, no surprises!) driftwood to run down the center of a 35 foot long table; 24-48 mercury glass candle holders, globes and votives; 75 good-quality black napkins; ten white feather pomanders with black ribbon; and possibly a whole bunch of white paper parasols.
If our florist does not take it all in trade, which she may, I am happy to donate to another bride who could pick it up at our hotel after the wedding. I don't know how long they will be happy to hold it, so it's probably best for an early May bride.
This is "pay it forward" time...of course if you want to chip in that is much appreciated, but mainly I do not want it all to go to waste if it could make someone else happy!
