Hello Everyone! Has anyone been able to make payments on the Royal's website yet? I still can't.. You'd think the Royal would want to actually get paid their money.
27 days to the Wedding!!!

Hey Ladies - I am having the Tres Leches cake on the bottom tier and chocolate on the top. My WC told me I could have the tres leches because the reception is indoors so there shouldn't be any melting issues. But tres leches was not on the choice list for the cake.

Lisa - Did you have a tres leches wedding cake?

Hey Ladies - I just ordered my favors and placecard holders yesterday. (I know so last minute!) I thought I would share. Fyi.. The weddingchannel store is having a GREAT sale on matchbooks. You can also find coupons for them at retailmenot.com. You may have to try a few codes to find out which works, but I saved 15% off my order!!!

Items Finalized:
My bouquet, hair appt, the ceremony location, cocktail hour, wedding reception, cake, centerpieces, and menu have been finalized.
Outside Vendors
My girls bouquets, makeup, photo, ceremony decoration, video
Not Finalized:
Ceremony script, music, welcome dinner, FI's bout
Fellow brides and brides to be, please let me know if I am missing anything.

I thought it was only me!! Whewww! Yes. We have been trying to make payments with my fiance's card since yesterday and it keeps coming up declined. I told my FI to call his bank and I emailed our WC - Andrea. I have tried multiple times!!! As soon as I figure it out, I'll let you know. I have always made payments online with my card and have never had a problem so this is quite frustrating. You know, you try to give people money and they just won't take it.

Welcome to all the new brides!!! This place is a great source of information. Take a FEW HOURS and start from the pages in the 600s to get some great ideas, you will be glad you did.
Jharris - Your make up and hair came out great. Two less things to worry about. You look great girl!
Bride2B22 - So glad your shoot came out fab. I can't wait to see your pics. I am sure they are hot hot hot!

Hey Lisa - LaTortuga / El Bistro has not gotten back to me yet.. (Booo!!!) Do you have any pictures from the rehersal dinner that you can share. Also, thanks for the room reccommendation. I am going to request it now!

Kayla aka Kshows!! Such a wonderful planning thread. Luv all of your details. Sorry it rained, but it sounds like everything came out great anyway. I have tons of questions for you. I hope you don't mind.
I am using Cancun Transfers also for the airport pickup. Did your whole group go on the pirate cruise? About how long did it take you to get to Cancun from the Royal and how'd you get there?
Thanks so much! Again, thanks for the planning info. It helps alot of us out who are looking for ideas.

Awww Lisa! Your pictures came out amazing!!! You guys look so in love.

He used to be a personal trainer so getting that help for free was a blessing! I have drafted out my planning thread and it's going to be crazy long! I have been really busy at work, but I will do my best to get it out!
Thursday morning at 6:30 AM and we are on our way........!!!!!!!!! I can feel the sunshine already!

Thanks Lisa and Raveyn for your feedback!!! Now onto convincing the FI! It's good to know that you can choose how to spend your time with the video people. That may help my case.
-
kshows you look hott!!!! You were so brave and confident and man does it show. hot hot hot!!!!
-
Hey Lisa and Raveyn (hope I spelled that right) - Would you ladies recommend getting the Royal's wedding video? Do you think it was worth the cost in the end? Our package doesn't include it. Me and my FI are torn over this. Our budget is tight so we are evaluating all costs. Pros, cons???

Ignore the "fd dfd.I I You". My keyboard got stuck.

Hi Suzy,
That's odd because my WC knew I was getting married at the gazebo when she offered up the burlap runner as an option.
For the paper lanterns, go to the "Royal In Playa Del Carmen All Inclusive Spa Resort" tag. I think that's what it's called anyway. Click on reviews..There's one by Smckinney22. The Royal did a great job with her lanterns. You should PM her to get the details since she just did it a few months ago. Hope that helps.
fd dfd.I I You I need to find out about the chair bows as well. I am doing the same thing.

Otherwise, you could always bring down double side tape of some sort to stick an aisle runner down so it doesn't blow away.
Another question, I am bringing some decorations for the gazebo like paper lanterns and such... do I need to bring my own string to hang them up?? and the chair bows I am bringing, do I need to pre-tie them before I get down there or will they do all that for me?

Cheers to that!!!

I feel safer in Mexico to be honest! In the end you don't want them there if they are not happy to be there and scared all the time. I have some guests that are worried and have just said they will not go off the resort which makes them feel better for some reason but whatever i will have two drinks in hand at all times and nothing will bother me that week lol

Vettiebean - LOL at all of your comments!!! You are right, weddings bring out the best and the worst in people.. Here's a summary of my backouts and their wacky excuses to give everyone a good laugh!! After hearing this crap, you either laugh or cry.. I've done enough crying, here's to laughing from now on...
- FI's father & stepmother - Can't go because they have to put shocks/struts on their car, can't get the time off of work (the wedding is on a Fri - she is a realtor and he is school social worker), need a trailor to get them ready for a move in June (the wedding is in Apr), there are some more, but this post could get long lol!
- My Aunt - just had to spend $1200 to get her car fixed. She has a Mercedes, her oldest daughter is 21 (not in college) & she has a beautiful home. Did I mention she took her daughter to Miami less than a yr ago for her 21st bday?!
- BM (Possibly) - BM's wife has just stopped returning my calls / texts. I know her phone still works because she sent me a text like 2 weeks ago to meet her at a bar for drinks! BM told my FI he may have to work now!
Bright Side - A lot less Xmas gifts to buy and less parties/gatherings to suffer thru next year!

Hey There. I am getting married at the Royal Playa Del Carmen on April 1st (I think this is about an hour from Cancun). The resort is completely booked and so is the family friendly Gran Porto next store. Of course some of my guests dragged their feet and now they are looking for places to stay (Ugh!). I said to my soon to be husband last night, "I know the media said that Mexico is dangerous right now, filled with drugs and violence..Yeah apparently the Royal and the Gran Porto didn't get that memo. And it's not like either resort is cheap."

You'd think I chose to have my wedding in Afghanistan or something! Anyone else dealing with this and frustrted?

Has anyone finalized their menu yet and feel like sharing? My WC told me I can have a choice of 2 main courses but I could have sworn that some people got 3.
-
Hey Speedy - I am doing exactly what you are. It sucks that the Royal doesn't have a white runner. They do have a burlap one (not sure if you knew about this), but that doesn't match my colors - coral and platinum with green accents. My WC advised me not to bring my own runner or to be cautious if I do because they tend to blow away and the resort doesn't really provide anything to hold them down. I am opting to just put the rose petals between the chairs in aisle format or maybe line the sides of the chairs to give some definition. Decisions Decisions!

Red would clash with the colors so the runner they have will not work. I don't want them to be densely covered in petals, but the pictures I've seen look so beautiful! Has anyone done this? Do you know the length of the aisle or what size runner I should get?
I am getting married May 7th and it is filling up for me too, only higher level rooms left. I sent out a reminder email to everyone, but I don't want to keep harassing them either. Hopefully the one email will be enough to get their butts into gear! We have around 30 booked now!!!!

Thanks ChicagoBride. I gotta verify that you can get a discount for purchasing multiple day passes. My WC just emailed me a chart yesterday and there was nothing related to this. So hoping your WC is right. Check also with you WC about guests having to purchse day passes on the day of your wedding. My WC told me that I wouldn't have to pay for guests not staying at the Royal since it was already included in the extra costs that I was paying for the toast, reception, etc. For example, the normal fee an extra Real guest would be $30. The fee for an external guest is $60 (depending on your package). I was told that external guests would not have to pay for a day pass since the brides are already paying a higer fee per head for the wedding festivities.
Are the wedding day passes the cost if your guests want to come on the resort before your wedding and stay after it is over?
