You are right, it can happen right away.  I removed my IUD in August, since I didn't had any period for 6 years because of the IUD, my doctor recommended me to wait for at least one cycle (so he can estimate the due date ...etc).  I have been on pills since 14 yrs old, I thought maybe it would take a while to my body to re-adjust.

So after honeymoon in September, AHR in October...me and hubby decided to try in November, and surprise surprise...we got it with 1 strike, I am a preggie now.

The only inconvenience for now is I can't drink champagne/wine in the holiday season!  If I knew it is this easy to get knocked up, I would've wait after the holidays. I know..I know...Like you said, we never know when it might happen.

Congratulations! You are definitely one of the lucky ones to get pregnant right away... On the other hand, it can also take months, years or not ever happen. I would hate to find out that we waited too long. So it's best to just start trying as soon as you're ready. I hope you have a great pregnancy and just think, next year you'll have a little one running around.

I just contacted Karla to book these types of things + hair & make-up for me, and she mentioned something to this effect. Also said that my bridesmaids might get this too since we've all booked under membership... crossing my fingers!

If you book through a membership, everyone staying 7 nights gets a manicure, pedicure and 25 min. back massage, and 2 tours.

I added fuchsia netting to a regular crinoline so that I could have extra volume and both colors.

  4. I just found this thread.  I am 32 yrs old, and my hubby is 35 yrs old.  We got married in Oct 2011, and want TTC asap after our wedding.  The number one reason is my age, my doctor said above 35 yrs old is considered high risk, so if I want to have 2 kids,..I better start asap.  Have anyone try those ovulation test?   On the other hand, we both love to travel, and enjoy OUR time.  Looking at others doesn't encourage us to have kids neither. We got a lot of friends who just got kids, and disappeared from our social radar since their baby's arrival or got into fights all the time.  Some are trying forever to TTC, and going to get expensive treatments after treatments.
I stopped taking bcp right after our wedding and we still haven't had any luck conceiving. It could happen right away or you encounter difficulties. Either way you still have almost another year before baby arrives to join your family. I would have gladly given up some of our recent experiences if it meant a baby was on the way. Its an amazing thing that shouldn't be put on hold because you never know when it might happen.
  5. Call me fussy, but unless you are going to include dish soap, I wouldn't want to use the same cup all day, let alone all week. We just sat at the swim up bar and kept the bartenders busy. If you're drinking that much, you'll be done them before they have a chance to melt.

For the room keys, we provided everyone with a waterproof card holder that had enough space for a little bit of tip money.

I'm not sure if everyone used what was in their OOT bags, but I like to think that they were useful. It was definitely beneficial to use a cotton bag that could be reused throughout the trip and was brightly colored so we could spot our guests spots.

For example I plan to get all my bridal party their own tervis tumblers for drinks. Would other guests benefit from bringing their own cup to keep beverages cold? And with the room keys are they a card or an actual key, and whichever they are, is it nice to have something to put the key in or attach the key to (so you don't lose it)?

Sorry I couldnt figure out how to word that exactly lol but I am trying to think of anything I can with just under 3 months to go! :)

I have a question is your marriage certificate in Spanish? I'm still unclear if you can have it translated there or when you get back home. Are you filing your marriage certificate with the county you live in? I've tried to look this up but I seem to get conflicting information.

We did the civil ceremony and got our marriage certificate in Spanish. I had to have it translated to assume my husband's last name here in Canada. I did not do a legal name change, because that would involve changing my birth certificate. We brought certified copies of our birth certificates which they photo copied before returning to us. They were in English.

I also take a daily thyroid stimulant, synthroid. It can be an issue if you thyroid isn't stimulating the right hormones. Thankfully, in Canada, they do test TSH so we should be fine. We are going on 6 months of TTC without a success, but I'm hoping this will be it.

I found rhinestone transfers at Michaels for $1 each. They had Bride to be, Bridesmaid, Mother of the Bride, Ring Bearer and Flower Girl. Or you can purchase the hot fixx gun and rhinestones to make your own designs.

  9. I was just on the Palace Resorts FB page and it looks like they have made some big changes. They are converting some more of the resorts to Hard Rock Facilities, they are converting Cancun Palace, Aventura Palace and Puerto Vallarta. They also closed Xpu-Ha and the tour to Tulum now includes lunch at Aventura. I wish we had gone to Aventura last spring, Xpu-Ha was not like it used to be. I guess with the $1500 promo they've changed a lot of tours.

Our favorite restaurant was El Caribeno because the food was always delicious. We used our dinner reservation for a welcome dinner at Palapa Fragata and it was really yummy. But I would definitely choose one of the restaurants with a set menu unless you want to traipse around the buffet in your dress.

Any help is truely appreciated, I feel like I am in panick mode!!embarrest.gif

We held a private reception on a terrace for 30 people. It did not seem empty and we were able to decorate. I think for the groups they try to seat you off to the side so you're not in the middle and separated. You would probably just want to limit your decorations. You can have your cake cutting at the ceremony site too so that is more private.

I Love your set up! I'm also curious about where you got your sashes and tablerunners from? Did you add anything extra to the tables? I'm still gathering ideas, and love how yours looks!

Also, did you think the Bugambilias Terrace was a good choice?  What helped you make that decision?

I got the sashes from wedding linens direct and purchased the table runners from another bride. I am reselling the sashes if anyone is interested. I added individual frames as place cards, chocolate bar favors that we brought, the WC provided vases with gel beads in the center and we reused our bouquets for the centerpiece. Here's a picture of that.

I chose Bugambilias because it is the closest to the Sunrise side and that's where we had our room block. I prefer the Sunrise side and I didn't want our guests to have to travel the whole length of the resort. As it was, half of us were on the other side and still arranged for a golf cart to take people to the ceremony.

  13. I am still clearing out a lot of great stuff left over from our wedding. I live in Canada and will be shipping from there. If you would like more reasonable shipping, I will be making a trip to the U.S. on Oct. 1. PM your address and I will send you a quote.
