  1. Hi Ladies!  I was married at Beaches T&C in May and I brought my own "real-touch" bouquet.  I ordered it from an online company and it cost about $120 and looked absolutely beautiful!  I still have it in a vase in my home, and I love the fact that I can keep it forever and it looks VERY real!  If you want a personalized bouquet and don't want to spend a fortune, I'd highly recommend ordering real-touch flowers.  Below is a picture of my bouquet...

I asked about upgrading the BB flowers to the Island Paradise ones (pinks, oranges, yellows).  I was told the bouquet is $450, and the boutonniere is $25.  I am guessing most of the upgrades run about the same, but I remember reading someone else just added some more stems to the existing bouquet or did a round one instead of long, and it was about an $85 upgrade.  Let us know what you hear when you have your call with Roxi :)

  2. Lizzdee-

You are absolutely right...whoever wants to bet there (and can generally afford it) will be there!  Don't stress out too much about it!  My husband has two bothers, but only one came to our wedding, and my dad and stepmom were not able to make it.  But I understood in the beginnning that it was expensive, and everyone who went had a great time, and those who couldn't be there LOVED all of our photos!  Please don't stress..you will have a BLAST!!  :-)

They also have very nice/ classy resort wear for men!!

Has anyone else been looking at room rates lately??? They have gone up about $150 since we booked in Jan....yuck. Thank god i hounded certain people to book early, even before invites went out. The only plus is airfare to Turks from NJ has gone down about $150, so i guess it all equals out....ugh....I am really trying not to even worry about it...People will be there if they want to be there.

I talked to my WC last night, everything went well..She is ready to rock and roll...wants us to fill out paperwork and start getting all that stuff together, i just need FI to get his new NJ drivers license and we will be ready to begin. I am sticking with the BB package, we want to get married at one of the gazebos, and the 2 hour private receptin and i will just add on certain things like flowers for all the tables and the band.

She is sending me over menu options to start looking at....QUESTION FOR THE MARRIED GIRLS----What 2 menu items did you pick for the main dinner?? I know you all have said everyting was amazing, but i just wanted some more opinions...Our group is full of 'foodies', so i just want to make sure we pick some awesome dishes!! Thanks in advance!

    Brandy,

Did you ever get your DVD?  How did it come out?

  5. Yes, I think they will accomodate that.  I believe (and somebody please correct me if I'm wrong) that Brandy did the same thing you're planning to do.  I would just tell them you want the reception held 3 hours after the ceremony, and your guests can go hang-out at one of the bars or lounges and then meet with you all after the photoshoot.

I am not sure if we are going to have any guests yet but if we do, now I am trying to figure out what to do with them (especially if they don't stay at the resort) for 3 hours while we are gone.  Is anyone else planning a photo shoot right after the wedding and if so, what's your plan?  Will Sandals let us postpone the reception until later that night?

  6. We loved our cleaning ladies, too!  They were soo nice and polite!

Just a word of advice for future visitors- they will sometimes try to "straighten" your room for you and misplace your things (not in a bad way...they're just trying to help), so if there's anything you don't want them to touch, you should put it in the safe!  :-)

  7. Hey Michelle-

You will love the Parrot Cay 1 bedroom suite!  Our friends hung out in our "living room" throughout the trip...like when it would start raining (the 15 minutes of rain we got every day...no biggie) we would all come to our room and play cards or would have an ice cold beer from the fridge and hang-out on the large patio... and it's literally in the middle of the resort and so convenient to everything.  You'll love it!!

  8. We got married at 11am, so when we took our photos it wasn't too hot yet.  I did ask the photographer at one point to grab me a bottle of water because I was getting a little hot....but you're "in the moment" and you really won't notice it too much!

I saw a bride in Jamaica get married under a pavilion in the POURING rain last year, and I thought to myself how bad that must have been, but I could tell they made the best of it and enjoyed each other. We just have to keep that in mind just in case! Lauren, great pictures! How hot was it while you were having them done?? Im clearly having a "Im gonna sweat to death" bridal breakdown. haha Sophia what are you doing for music. I think Brandy had mentioned before she felt like it would have been too quiet without the band and I for sure don't want that. I am willing to hire one, I just dont know if I should do a DJ or the band, or just keep it with IPOD music.

  9. I tried posting this review in the "review" section, but it kept freezing...so here it is!

We had such an amazing time and wonderful wedding!  Where do I begin?!

AIRPORT- We arrived in the PLS airport, which is very small, and another plane landed right before us, so we had to wait in line for about an hour, which felt like forever because we were so excited to get to the resort!  We grabbed our luggage and went straight to the Beaches area where we were greeted with cold towels.  They put our room number on our luggage and put us in a van and we were on our way!  The driver was really nice- he told us all about the resort on the way there.  It was only about a 10 minute drive.

ROOM- Our room was perfect!  We stayed in the Parrot Cay 1 bedroom Honeymoon suite.  It had a jacuzzi bath tub and separate shower.  The shower was very small, but I didnâ€t care since we had such a nice, huge tub!  The room has a separate living area with a couch, small kitchen-type area with a fridge that was re-stocked all the time w/ soda, water, beer, juices…anything you want!  It also had a microwave.  Both rooms had a sliding glass door which led to the big patio.  We also really liked our room because it was located in the middle of the resort, which was nice!  It was only about a 2-3 minute walk to pretty much anywhere onsite.

    Turks and Caicos 012.JPG

POOLS- We hung out at the Italian Village jacuzzi, which is huge, a few times.  There are a ton of kids at that pool.  We mainly hung out at the two pools in the Caribbean Village.  We didnâ€t hang out in the French Village at all.  We hung-out in the waterpark and lazy river for a bit almost every day too, which was fun!!

    Turks and Caicos 317.JPG

BEACH- the beach was absolutely gorgeous!!!  We never had a hard time finding a chair, and it didnâ€t feel too crowded.  We did kayaking, water bikes, hobie cats, snorkeling, and then paid extra to ride the banana boat, which was fun!  They also have parasailing, but that too is extra and we didnâ€t feel like it would be worth the cost.

    Turks and Caicos 030.JPG

WEDDING- our wedding coordinator was Stacey Ann and she was very nice!  We met with her the day after we arrived at the resort.  We tasted cake, picked our photo package, chose our ceremony music and walked the property and chose the locations for the ceremony and cocktail reception.  On the wedding day, the WC and officiant met my husband and his family in the lobby and escorted them to the gazebo we chose.  Then she came to my room and picked-up me and my family.  She had Jeremy turned around so he wouldnâ€t see me until I walked down the aisle.  It was amazing!!!   We wanted a quick ceremony, so it was only about 2-3 minutes long, and the officiant was great!  Then we took some photos on the deck at Schooners with everyone.  After that, the WC escorted our guests to Turtles Lounge while Jeremy and I took pictures on the beach with the photographer.  We had Patrick as our photographer, and he was great!!

We then went to the boardwalk area and had our 1 hour cocktail reception.  We cut the cake and did a champagne toast, and then ate some hot and cold hors d'oeuvres.  It was simple and fun!  Then when we returned to the room, we found rose petals on the floor, bed, and a bubble bath w/ rose petals!  It was pretty!!

    024_24.JPG

    Turks and Caicos 200.JPG

RESTAURANTS- ALL of the food we had was very good!!  We had Schooners, Arizonaâ€s, Barefoot by the Sea, Marioâ€s, Kimonos, Sapodillas, Giuseppeâ€s, Reflections, Bobby Dâ€s, and Bella Napoli Pizzeria.  We had dinner at Barefoot by the Sea three nights because the atmosphere was really nice, since itâ€s right on the beach and you can watch the sunset.  I had pizza almost every day for lunch at Bella Napoli which is right in front of one of the pools.  The pizza was great!  They also had a jerk station (not sure that it had a formal name but thatâ€s what the sign said??) in front of the other Caribbean Village pool and we had some REALLY good fajitas there!  We had breakfast at Reflections every morning except for one, and they have literally anything you would want for breakfast!  SAPODILLAâ€S WAS THE BEST!!  You must dress up or they will turn you away (they turned us away b/c my husband had on khaki shorts, and they required long dress pants, so he had to go change clothes).  Their food and presentation of food kind of reminded me of a Ruthâ€s Chris or something.  The food was excellent, and hereâ€s a picture of their dessert….we told them it was our honeymoon…

Thatâ€s about it!  I hope I didnâ€t leave anything out!  Please do not stress about your trip- they will take care of EVERYTHING for you while youâ€re there!!  We had the best time, as did all of our guests!!  Please let me know if anyone has any questions!!

  10. I just returned from 8 days there, and it rained almost everyday, but normally for only about 15-30 minutes, and then it blew over and was sunny again.  There were 2 days that were kinda cloudy, but it was still nice out.  I didn't put on sunscreen on 1 of those cloudy 2 days and I still got burned!   Don't worry...it will be fine!  Just an FYI- the weather forecast on my wedding day was 60% chance of rain and I think it barely rained that day and it was very sunny!

Every source that I looked at during planning said the same thing:  that turks and caicos does not get much rain over the course of a year.  What are the odds of having 50% and 60% chances for every day that we are there?

  11. I just found this thread, and I think it's great!  My FI and I have been together for over 4 years now.  I am 28 and he's 29.  We've already gone on a few trips and have really enjoyed "our" time together.  I told him that after our wedding on 5/21, I am going off the pill, just b/c I don't really like taking it, so if he doesn't want kids yet, he better be careful...lol.  But in my opinion, if it happens, it happens.  But everyone is different.  I think you all should do whatever is best for you and your hubby (or future hubby!). :-)

  12. Hello and welcome, mdcoug!  I would HIGHLY recommend using a TA, especially if you might have a lot of guests traveling.  I used "All About Honeymoons and Destination Weddings" and my TA is great!  All of my guests have her contact info and can call or email her at any time, and she responds very quickly.  She's also Sandals and Beaches certified...she is very helpful and knowledgeable, but not pushy at all.  And it doesn't cost a thing to use a TA!

Anyways, that's just my opinion!  Good luck with your planning!!

  13. Hey Kendall!  I actually just got home from doing some shopping for a few more things (sunscreen, bikini, hat, some flowers for my hair, etc).

I STILL need to find jewelry to wear on the big day..eeek!!  I cannot decide what I want, and I've shopped several times and found nothing!!  What type of jewelry are you guys wearing?

My fiance and I are leaving on Wednesday, 5/18.  We will be returning on the following Thursday, 5/26.

Kendall, I bet you are soo excited!!  Less than a week before you depart!!  YAY!!

the Parrot Kay has the separate bedroom, but it is the pullout couch, not the bed. The bed is in the main area (with the bathroom access). The bar is in the room with the pullout couch. I'll look for French Village pics, just in case anyone is interested!

  15. Thanks, Krys!  I agree- if it's only a 10-15 minute ride, then it wouldn't be worth it.  I forgot how close the resort is to the airport!

  16. Yay!!!  Yes, there are quite a few of us on here that will be getting married on May 21st!  Only 19 days left...not that I am counting or anything..ha-ha!!  Do you have any last-minute things to do?  I am pretty much done, I just need to get some more summer clothes before we leave, and my real-touch bouquet should be arriving any day now!
