  1. I had my wedding at the BBGE on December 29th. It was amazing! With 100 people you will probably have your dinner at one of the restaurants which will be at 6p.m. Having that many people you will have to pick the meal in which all the guests will eat. They automatically do this after 10 people. They send you the menu with about 1-2 months to go. There are some options on the menu that do cost more but the majority of the menu is all the same. I highly suggest the steak restaurant. It had to be the best meal that we had there. Everyone loved the "special cut". The only thing that we were a bit surprised with was when we went for our meeting with Ana to get the blood tests done she asked for $150 USD in cash for the judge. A hidden cost that we were not aware of.... Oh well. It went smoothly and it was a wonderful day.
  2. My fiancée couldn't remember the name of our resort (men...) and just heard the word "Grand" and started to freak out. I had to set him straight on that right away.
  3. My wedding is December 29 so it is creeping up. I have to admit that this new wedding coordinator is not as swift as Nadia. I am finding that it is taking her around 5 days to respond back to my e-mails. I asked her about reserving for a rehearsal dinner but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.
  4. Do you have to pay extra for the welcome party and rehearsal dinner? Or could you reserve the space right now for those events?
  5. Staciw, Would you mind putting up a few pics? Did you get to see what the set-up for the wedding will look like? I have not picked a centrepiece yet but it is on my list of things to do today. I am assuming you are doing a private reception or are they letting you have a semi-private one?
  6. I heard from Ana yesterday and she sent me a form that I had to fill out so that she would know the details that I have already done. Does anyone know if the other restaurants have semi-private or private rooms?
  7. I wonder if there are 2 coordinators now?? Very interesting if there are. Nadia didn't happen to give me the other ladies address. I guess I just have to wait for her to e-mail me.
  8. So I just got a reply back from Nadia regarding my wedding and she just informed me that she will no longer be the wedding coordinator at the Blue Bay. She is still with the company but no longer doing weddings. The new coordinators name is Ana Victoria Gutiérrez and she is supposed to be getting back to all of us brides in the near future.
  9. I think that we are going to go with the following: ceremony on the beach followed by cocktail hour with the DJ and then the dinner. Kind of backwards then normal but the easiest. We decided to get the resort photographer after seeing a few sample shots. I also have others coming to the wedding that are able to take great pictures. Apparently the DJ is included for the first hour after the ceremony but you have to pay anytime after that. When are you getting married again?
  10. I have started planning with Nadia and there is really not that much to do since we are only having 24 people so there is no point in having a private reception. She said that they will reserve a section of the restaurant for us which is good enough for me. Has she told anyone which restaurant you will be having the dinner in?
  11. Thanks for the photos. Really lovely. I am getting married at the BBGE in December and we have decided to go with the resort photographer. They sent me some examples of his work and it looks pretty good. Â Did you have a private reception? Did they decorate the tables or was that extra?
  12. Did you ever get a reply from someone regarding the resort photographer? Â What are the costs? Â I am getting married there in December and haven't really gotten around to really booking anything. If I e-mailed the co-ordinator would she send me all the info so early? Â When are you getting married there?
  13. We are getting married Dec. 29, 2010 at the BBGE and really in regards to planning I haven't really done that much. Maybe I had better get on it!
