I worked really hard on this but there are still a few blanks that need to be filled in. I will update this regularly!

    INTRODUCTION

This thread replaces our old thread Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource (if you are crazy enough, feel free to read through all 100+ pages for more info!) as well as the thread with the Best Destination Wedding Forum ~ The Ultimate Destination Wedding Resource since that list is added at the bottom of this page.

A new thread was created so that all the most useful information from the old thread would be on the first page, in order to (1) hopefully reduce some of the repeated questions in the thread (2) help brides who find the information in the official Wedding Guide confusing and (3) reduce the number of questions being asked to the coordinators and provide answers to stressed out brides who are frustrated with the lack of response from the Dreams Tulum coordinators.

If you have any important information (or photos) you think should be added to the front page, please send me a PM.

A FEW NOTES FOR NEW BRIDES:

1)Please take a minute to introduce yourself and tell us your wedding date. We love meeting new brides!

2)PLEASE READ FULLY THROUGH THE FIRST FEW PAGES OF INFORMATION BEFORE POSTING ANY QUESTIONS IN OUR THREAD. Once you have done so, if you are still confused or your information is not here feel free to post questions!

3)If you have questions that are not directly related to Dreams Tulum, it would be better to post them either in the Mayan Riviera Forum (if itâ€s something about the airport, activities in the area, finding a local photographer/videographer or other vendor etc) or in the BDW General forums (for stuff like dresses, do it yourself projects, etc)

4)Be aware that the wedding coordinators are very slow at responding to emailed questions. Thatâ€s what weâ€re here for! Weâ€ll do our best to help you plan. But know that once you arrive there, you will be so impressed with the coordinators. So just try to relax during the planning process. Every bride whoâ€s posted a review was really amazed at how organized the wedding coordinators are and how everything comes together at the last minute. They all say they wished they had relaxed more because there was no point in worrying before hand.

5)When you come back, please please please POST A REVIEW!!!! If youâ€ve benefited at all from this community the best thing you can do to give back and keep it going for future brides is post a review and pictures. Tell us everything that went right, and more importantly, everything that went wrong (there is rarely anything that goes wrong at this resort so it's pretty rare we get to read about such experiences) so that we can learn from your experience.

DISCLAIMER: This information was collected from my/our interpretation of the Dreams Tulum Wedding Guide (link below) and from various brides. Some of the information could be inaccurate and may change over time. Donâ€t blame us, weâ€re just trying to help you!!!

(in order to seperate the resort info from personal comments/opinions I have usually marked the later with an "*", not to be confused with "***" which is sometimes used to indicate important notes)
Cancun! Lovely photos! We are definitely excited for our upcoming Cancun wedding!

That way, they can pick the shade that looks best on them and spend as much money as they want since they are already spending to come to our wedding. It isn't set in stone yet but that is what I am thinking. The flowers on the table have a greenish/yellowish hue so I think it will look nice.

I think as long as you differentiate the white bridesmaid dresses from you as the bride that will be really pretty. I have even seen a lot of weddings that have everyone wear white! Bottom line, it is your wedding and you can do whatever you want! :)
Yellow always looks great with an ocean drop of blue! Great choice!
  3. Mandalay Bay is huge and next to the Luxor. It definitely has a beautiful setting for wedding photos. Also there is nightly live entertainment throughout the casino. The pool is GORGEOUS and there are some cool bars, lounges, and clubs there. It also connects to the Luxor in the building. One cool place to check out is the "Ice Lounge". I know weddings are held there all the time. They have an ice chapel. Very unique and different. The of course they had the Red Hot Blue restaurant and a few very nice other ones.

  4. yea when my parents transferred their dog from Alabama to Phoenix, he was sick for days! and also began to develop breathing problems. When they took him to the vet the doctor said this happens a lot with dogs when traveling since the cabin pressure can be much more damaging to a dog than to a human and of course the airborne diseases circulating. It took a good few months before my parents dog recovered from that mess. I think its a great idea to incorporate a dog into the ceremony, but take into mind the flight problem.

  5. Hang in there! any destination wedding will have these issues, I am getting married in cancun and sometimes Im afraid the information I am relating to the coordinator is not being understood and handled correctly...everything will come out right at the wedding in the end!

  6. Talk to the resort you are staying at. They have in house bakerys and chefs. Any casino cake will be awesome. One of my friends got a cake for her wedding at the Bellagio and it was not only insanely amazing, but it tasted great! the bride was nice enough to give us pieces of the cake to take home with us. We enjoyed it for days!

  7. there are 100s of things to do in vegas. All i can say is pace yourselves. I spent over $1500 to see shows during the xmas timeframe last year. I got sick from the constant drinking and fine dining food and ended up calling the in house doctor which was $350 and didnt accept insurance cards. I was also unable to walk or even lay down thanks to being so sick. I regret that. Our first 3 days there were awesome though, so i suggest that you see all the shows and experience the first days and slow down on the last.

  8. it definitely looks like renting a villa or a bungalow is cheaper than booking a resort. When we began to organize our wedding, we thought of hawaii, but most of the family members and guests were not willing to make a 11 hour flight trip to the island. We had to reconsider. But when we began searching it was definitely a top choice and the house rentals were definitely the cheapest option.

  10. Hello everyone!

I am a soon to be moon palace bride for 2010. Our wedding is July 25, 2010.

We definitely will be looking through this site for information in regards to the wedding. We are super excited and like many have begun with the complimentary package and have added on the Mayan Ceremony.

Btw, if anyone has done the Mayan Ceremony at moon palace recently, please let us know how it was like.

    Thanks,

    Mari
