I looked at the specials they have now but I'm wondering if a) you need to book through the resort to get them and are they just the specials for right now and won't apply for our wedding in January. We're using Amex Travel for our group rate and they price match or beat prices and special offers if you find them elsewhere. I'm going to ask our TA about the specials posted on the site and see if they will apply for us.

Apple was a little cheaper than Amex but Amex price matches and we've decided to go with them. I'm just waiting to hear back from Amex about the new quote. This is what we got for hotel only for 3 nights, 1/20/11 - 1/23/11. Apple: Garden Room Single $705, Double $570, Triple $567 Ocean View Room Single $732, Double $597, Triple $594 Plunge Pool Room Singel $759, Double $624, Triple $621 Kids under 3 = $30 Kids btwn 3 and 12 = $237 These prices are all pp for 3 nights. Amex was cheaper for kids 3 to 12, $175. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if I can just call the resort to find out available ceremony times? Or is that only info Ana would have? I really want a later ceremony time and I was offered 11 or 2. So I asked Ana what days she does have a later time and now no respone for over a week. I called Ana and was only able to leave a message with her assistant but she never called me back. On average, it's taken about 2 to 3 weeks for her to respond to me. I would just keep emailing until you get your question answered. She does end up responding even if it isn't very quickly. When I did choose a date of the ones she told me were available I didn't get an immediate response so I was a little freaked because I didn't want it to be given away. It wasn't though. She just took a long time to respond. Good luck!

So is he not included in the photos that come with the wedding package? Is he considered an outside vendor that I need to contact on my own or can I just tell Ana I want to book him? Thanks again!

Ana does take awhile to respond but from what I've read on here everyone has been happy with her. It does seem to help when asking questions to put them in numbered format so she can respond easier. What travel agent are you working with? I have a quote from Amex travel and waiting on a group rate from Apple Vacations.

If you go to the Dreams RC website and then click on the "Weddings and Honeymoons" tab, "Plan Your Wedding" and scroll down there is a link that says "Contact the wedding coordinator." Her name is Ana. I know when I booked for Jan 2011 a few months ago, there weren't very many dates available. I would try to be flexible and give her a range of dates. I asked for a couple specific dates initially and she told me they were unavailable but then didn't give me any other options around the same time. I ended up asking her what Saturdays or Sundays were available in January and February and then we were able to pick one. She will hold the date for you when you choose but you will need to pick a wedding package before you get your contract. I still don't have my contract but have chosen and told her it. I still sent out my STDs and have started the planning even without the contract since the date is being held. Don't worry if you don't get a response from her right away. She takes a little while to respond. Good luck!
  20. Just wanted to thank all of you for all the wonderful information. It is a bit stressful waiting for Ana to respond to emails and a lot of my questions have been answered by all of the posts! I've tried to read through as much of the posts as I can so if I'm repeating questions, I appologize. Just wondering if anyone has used Juan Navarro, the hotels photographer? I think I'll choose him since his pics looked pretty good on his website. Also, does anyone know if we can mix and match the sit down dinner menu? We are having the Gold menu which has 3 options but I'd like to pick and choose between the 3 if we can. Thanks!

Thought it would be easier than to legally get married in Mexico.
  22. Hi Everyone! I'm new to the forum so I'm still trying to figure out how it works. We're getting married at Dreams Riviera Cancun on 1/22/2011! From what I've read from the other posts, things should turn out wonderfully. I'm just a little worried because the wedding coordinator takes a really long time to respond to my emails and doesn't seem to answer my questions. I'm sure everything will work out great and I know there is a ton of info on here that will help Jill
