Sorry ladies...just saw on the Dreams facebook page that Magdalana is now gone...anybody else have her as a WC?

Robyn, I'm kind of having the same wedding as you, about the same number of people....i booked the ultimate package, I'm having a private reception at el patio and the same dj. If you don't mind me asking, what would you say is a ballpark figure that you ended up spending on the entire wedding. I keep trying to add things up and get a straight answer from our WC but I'm so afraid I"m going to go over budget.

I'm getting married at the gazebo and the only problem I've been told that there maybe with that location is that is not very private. It right by the pool area so everyone at the pool can watch your ceremony, which was fine for me (the more the merrier) but I know some people want a really private and intimate spot for there ceremony and the only choice I was given was the beach or the terrace which doesn't hold 75 people. I've also read that if your concerned about the people at the pool being noisey or anything during the ceremony alot of brides have said that they haven't had any problems and that everyone has been very respectful as far as keeping it down during the ceremony. Depending on your date, some of the reception spots maybe booked already. I really wanted the pool deck but it was already booked so they told me my only other options were the beach, which my fiance' was totally against and the ballroom. I had seen some other photos of brides who had had private receptions at on of the restaurants so I inquired about that and the deal with that is, they can close one of their restaurants for you for you must have at least 40 people, its and additional $30 per person, which is a minimum of $1200 just to close the restaurant, not including the additional fees you have to pay for every person thats not covered in your package and they have to know which restaurant 2 months in advance. This is kind of the option i'm leaning towards because the beach reception is out i'm just not crazy about the additional $1200..and i'm still waiting to see pics of the ball room. So word to the wise, upon booking your date, book your ceremony and reception spots immediately. I wish I would have known sooner.

Tammy: I participated in the webinar however one of the answers I got wasn't very clear. This is my scenario: I am using the Ultimate Package and would like to have a private reception at the restaurant El Patio. Gabby said I would be able to do that but there would be extra fees involved. What are those extra fees and are they per person (including everyone) or per person (the additional number of people not included in the 20 people by package already includes for a reception) I guess i'm confused. I'm planning on having 40 people with my group. Based on that I'm just trying to figure out a round about figure as to what the reception is going to cost me minus the dj, decorations and other extras. I I've gotten several emails back from my coordianator and all she has been able to tell me is that to close a restaurant it is $30 per person and a minimum of 40 people is required.

Ok, I am sooooo confused. All I want to do is figure out how much my reception is going to cost (tax and gratuity included). Has anyone already had a wedding where for their reception they had a restaurant closed ( in my case El Patio) for a private reception?

I participated in the webinar this last weekend and I asked the question about having an outside photographer and Gabby said that you could do that but the photographer would need a day pass and she could not offer any discount off of my package for not using the resort photographer. I believe she said the day pass was $110. Â I also asked about having a restaurant at the resort closed for my reception since in my case, the pool deck has already been booked and my fiance' absolutely does not want to have it on the beach, and Gabby said that if you have 40 guests that a restaurant could be closed ( in my case El Pation) however , they would need a 2 month advance notice and there would be some additional fee per person.

I got several emails yesterday from a Maria Magdalena Sosa Ceron. If anyone is interested she sent me options for bouquets and centerpeice arrangements. She also told me that I could use a photoprapher not offiliated with their resort but there would be an additional fee. On another note, is anyone else getting married on April 22? just wondering...

Oh great! We'll just be getting there on the 20th or maybe the 19th I haven't decide yet. Do you have your locations picked out yet for your ceremony and reception?

Any one else getting married the weekend of April 22, 2011? Just wondering if anyones having their wedding the same weekend as mine...

I would highly suggest getting a travel agent to book your date, otherwise, your in for a wait...don't expect to hear anything for well over a month. I had that problem and as soon as I got a travel agent I had a response from the WC Ana within 5 minutes of my agent contacting the resort.

The best way to get a hold of Ana is through a travel agent...i had the same problem. As soon as my travel agent called the resort I had an email from Ana within 5 minutes. Its definitely not to early to book for 2011, especially not for June of 2011. I'm booked for April 22, 2011. If you go through this blog from the start there's a list of brides and what dates there booked for so that might give you an idea of whats available.

Thanks, thats exactly what I had to do. Once I had my travel agent call I got an email from Ana within minutes! I'm booked for April 22, 2011 6:00 p.m.

I have had an absolutely horrendous time trying to get someone on the phone or over email to book my wedding date and give a deposit. I've gotten a hold of Ana twice but only after calling the resort 5 times and getting transfered around a million times. Both times she was working a wedding and couldn't take my deposit. The last time I spoke with her she told me the date I wanted was availabe and to shoot her an email and she would immediately email me back with instructions on how to give her my deposit....that was a week ago....Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I've been trying to book April 23 ,2011, for over a week now..still no response. Are there any other April 2011 brides booked at the Dreams Riviera Cancun and if so were there many dates available when you booked?

I feel like i've read every review...thats kind of the problem...they also seem equally great, so i guess i can't go wrong.

So I've finally narrowed down my search to one of the Dreams Resorts....Cancun, Los Cabos and Riviera Cancun. Now the problem is choosing which one. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to book on by next week.

My FI and I have decided to get married in Florida, preferably in the Ft. Walton, Destin, Panama area. I've looked into several large homes in those areas they we're considering renting for the week and to also have the reception at. I'm looking for any input anyone can give me as far as renting the houses ( has anyone been to any weddings where this has been done....do you have any pictures of the reception....), vendors in those areas that anyone would recommend, best time of year, etc. Any any input at all would be greatly appreciated.

I was also looking into the Reunion House for my wedding next year as well. Any pictures you could provide of your wedding /reception would be great.

I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I've recently purchased the Sottero "Caprice" gown for my wedding. I absolutely love it and think it is gorgeous, however it wasn't my first pick. The dress I orignally fell in love with was the Watters "Torreon" gown, however I am having a destination wedding and felt that it maybe to bottom heavy to walk in sand with so I went with the "caprice" instead. Since then i cannot get my mind of the "Torreon" dress. Please...advice on what I shouold do. Also, if there are any brides out there that have purchased either dress and have pictures I'd love to see them.
