Hi all - Name is Mary and I'm sooo excited. Sorry I didn't join sooner because getting married in just over 2 short months to my best friend Scott - 7/3/10! Curious... we have a wedding contract with the resort to which we are to be married. Noticed that what is lumped into food & drink is the cost of some of the reception rooms & then sur-charged... 21% Are we to be sur-charged on the room? Has anyone else experienced this and is this the norm? Appreciate any insight! Happy planning to all! Love, Mary

Curious... I have a Wedding Day contract with the resort to which I am booked with and noticed something that seemed peculiar. In the breakdown of the expenses in which there are 2 sections that have food & drink... 1) being the wedding reception and 2) being the Welcome Brunch, there is the charge for the room space. All this is all totaled & then there is the Service charge of 21%... Should my room be included in this total? Why am I paying a service charge on top of the room. Wouldn't that be just for food and drinks? I haven't talked to them about it yet... wanted to get some feedback from future brides like me. Otherwise everything else has been smooth. Thanks Ladies! I am to be married at Wyndham/Sugar Bay on July 3, 2010 (same day as you BethGrubb). So far I am pleased with the process. Working with their sales staff & soon will be working with their wedding coordinator. I can certainly report back to you. My sister-in-law's dad stayed there last year and loved it. Saw their photo album and it looks beautiful. Happy Planning!
