  1. Hi Jennifer, I'm not sure if you found a photographer yet, but I was just married on May 10th and we used El Velo Photography. Juan Carlos is an amazing photographer and we couldn't be happier!!! He's a genius behind the camera! Email me for pics...as I'm a newby and can't post yet (or at least I haven't figured it out!). ~Mellisa
  2. Hi there, We just got married in Jaco a few weeks ago. Costa Rica has such a natural beauty you really won't miss the resorty thing. It's really not roughing it and the locals are very accomodating and it is safe (unlike Mexico). I think if you gave it a try you would fall in love with CR. We love Tabacon Resort & Spa, Villa Caletas/Zephyr Palace (which is where our wedding was held) and for the perfect intimate place to gather in Jaco we loved Canciones Del Mar. It is small with only 15 rooms, yet clean and directly on the beach. Oh, and the food was amazing too! I did a lot of research and I did not find CR to be much more expensive than MX. Good Luck!
  3. Just 2 weeks ago we were married at Zephyr Palace in Jaco. It was a dream come true! The only complaint we have was the band we hired. As for the all inclusive, we spent the last 3 days of our 16 day trip at Paradisius Playa Conchal and had a great time. The $45 hour massages on the beach were the perfect ending to our adventure honeymoon. We spent time in Jaco, Quepos, Manuel Antonio, La Fortuna and Guanacaste. We were very active and hit the canopy (zipline), waterfall rappelling, scuba diving, hike to Chato Peak, Tabacon hotsprings, horseback riding, kayaking, snorkling, boat tour in Jaco to see crocadiles, and hanging bridge tour. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, as some of the activities can be a waste of money, but most were outstanding! ~M
  4. I'm using El Velo, see post above me for details. I will have pics to show next month! =)
  5. I suggest you visit Tabacon Resort & Spa. They have the most beautiful and romantic "garden of eden" hot springs. You will love it!
  6. I'm curious to know if any of you are having a Costa Rican legal wedding (marriage) or not, and what led you to that choice? We are choosing to hit the court house once we get home, to have a US legal marriage.
  7. Does anyone know of any fun family style restaurants to suggest for our rehersal dinner in Jaco? This will be the first time all of our family & guests will be together in Costa Rica and will also be Mother's day. We're looking for a great bar and good food, but nothing too fancy. Thanks! Mellisa
  8. You MUST, MUST, MUST go to Tabacon Resort and Spa, it's absolutely stunning! We describe it as the Garden of Eden. Here, check out our itinerary for some ideas: Mellisa & Ryan - wedding website by mywedding.com
  9. We will be married at Zephyr Palace May 10th, and will be holding our reception at Villa Caletas Mirador Terrace. I can let you know at a later date how it goes, but it has been an amazing experience. We can't wait for our wedding day!
