  1. Ive been in discussions with Maria but still not sure.

They are pricing high but have the most amazing wedding day setups  have seen yet.

We are already hotel booked but found this and were so wowed by it thinkning about a more private wedding here.

I have alot of information if you want me to send over.

Are you considering this resort. It is amazing if you can work them down on price...

  2. I agree. Im waiting on the final rates to post on this resort next week/charters.etc So I have a tentative wedding date of 1/11/2011 and want to do it at paradisus pr. I have a call with a wedding coordinator on monday to answer all my questions b/c I have been tossed around a bit.

She is based out of CANADA? WHAT? Weird! Why am I talking to someone out of Cananda about the wedding info. I have many quesitons too on the terrace vs. the gabi club. My number 1 reception location is the gabi restaurant club but realized they want to add a 25% tax on top of the reception location and think that is insane. Is anyone able to negotiate that price?

We are having 65-70 guests and I know that placed holds double. WAnt to see if that os workable as I love the gabii restaurant but feel the price is high.

Let me know what the terrace give you if you dont mind. Im trying to decide as well on reception options/prices etc. This resort prices out higher on the wdding side I feel like.

    Thanks

  3. THe Paradisus and Iberostar and Excellence are on my list too.

Im having a call with the wedding coordinator on monday at the paradisus to do some more digging before I finalize. I have heard this resort shows really nice.

Im loving the ppr but not sure my guests can afford it.

Going to do some more digging into the PPC as well.

Any feedback from brdies on PPC?

    Thanks

  4. Good day brides to be. HELP! Im trying to get decide between these amazing resorts. Waiting on rates for 2011 but my date is 1/11/2011 so getting close so hoping to get save the dates out soon.

WE have 60 plus adults, no kids coming but still drawn to the PPR.

Can someone tell me if there are alog of activities for adults at this resort?

The royal section prices HIGH so not sure I want to make my guests pay that.

Seeing what sort of adult activities they provide? Nightlife? Same for the iberostar and Secrets. I just found the Cap CAna and fell in love with it but seems to price high. I think my taste is on the high side but want a great resort.

Any feedback on these resorts. We have a great fun group coming. Wanting a resort that offers a great reception location. WE are considering getting married off the resorts at the beautiful catcholic church about 20 min. away.

Wanted the reception at Gabi Beach club at the PPR but they are insane for what they want for that. Wish it was negotiable.

Anyways any other d.r. brides out there looking at these resorts or previous ladies who have advise?

Thanks and congrats all you new brides out there and newly married!

    Christy

  5. Molly,

Im reading the reviews I have to state that I have been to both cancun and Playa Del carmen. I have not been to the Royal in cancun BUT the Royal in Playa like stated above is literally a 2 min. walk for your guests to a town of sooooo much to offer.

If you want variety for your guests and yourself to leave the resort and explore, you couldnt be in a better WALKING area. Its not as congested as cancun, a bit nicer, classier, and I really recommend it. I have pictures if you want to see, email me.

It really is fabulous. One of my best friends got married a year ago about 30 min. drive and we cabbed it into playa bc of all the action and fun.

Really good shopping, exploring, close to cozemel if your guests want to go to the island, and or coure great bars and nightlife. Checkout the Blue Parrot, amazing! If I had my pick of areas 100% would say Playa Del Carmen over Cancun but that is me. Good luck and let me know if I can help. This resort was really fantastic and in a prime location... :)

  6. Hi Brides to be. congrats! I too just got engaged, new years and am doing a destination wedding. This website has been so helpful so far.

I have had 3 areas we are focusing on and waiting on rates.

I just want to get it decided on. :) So many options.

WE are interested in Sandals-La Toc, D.R.-Iberostar and Paradisus, and in Mexico-Secrets Maroma,Iberostar, and El Dorado.

All have different things I love.

Now sorry for rambling, I think we too are going to illiminate St. Lucia even though its my number 1. We anticipate 60 plus guests and all from all over.

So now we are focusing back on D.R. and Mexico.

I wanted to let you both know we got engaged at the Royal and I loved it.

I have done many all inclusives before and this by far the best SERVICE and food.

Im huge on service and I was very impressed. The food was fantastic as well. All the restaurants had great service and were like 5 course meals. I did not see a wedding there but the resort itself was amazing. They did a really good job to cater to us. I was impressed. So now im reasearching these other 2 in mexico and wondering the same thing. FEedback from brides. LEt me know if you know any more on secrets or iberostar.

    Have a great evening! Christy

  7. Im having a hard time deciding between some great resorts.

El Dorado Royale, Iberostar(grand), and Secrets Maroma.

WE have been to R.M. before and loved it.

WE got engaged at The Royal, FANTASTIC resort.

Regardless in researching these resorts they all have a piece of the pie I want but going back and forth. I think El Dorado has the chapel, which I want but maybe not the reception location to accomidate.

We have 60 guests and they are wanting me to go inside.

I want an outdoor reception, ground floor though not beach/sand.

I can get this at the other resorts but lose the chapel.

Its a big ole puzzle. Would love some suggestions from other brides or brides to be on these resorts, feedback.

I love the idea of BIG and I think we get alot of options for our guest at all 3.

So also trying to find the perfect wedding day for us!

    Thanks for feedback... Christy

  8. I too am in your boat Kerry. Congrats on the engagement. I got engaged on new years and we have been researching a ton. I have narrowed down my top pics in 3 different areas. Im just waiting on the rates for 2011 to be posted.

Paradisus Palma Real is on my list of top picks. They have an AMAZING wedding reception site that grabs me not to mention the resort.

Im looking there and Iberostar in D.R. LEt me know if you have questions. I think I have talked to about every wedidng planner at a few places in D.R. and Mexico and have pictures on a ton of sites. Im trying to get a decision made. I pray this is the hardest part bc I feel like my head is spinning. :) GOod luck!

  9. Hi Thanks Meagan...How did you like the Beaches at T And C?

We stopped there on a cruise, T and C for one day and LOVED IT.

That beaches is the only all inclusive there. Did you love it?

I know with ST. Lucia it seems amazing.

My fear is travel for our guests.

We live in STL, have a big chunk of our guests coming from Charlotee, Chicago, La, etc so all over.

Fear the traveltime but seems so amazing...thanks

  10. My fiance and I are planning our wedding and trying to get down to the final resorts. WE love a couple in D.R. but want a chapel wedding. Like some of the resorts in Mexico, D.R. does not have chapesl on site.

I found one at the majestic but was told only catholic ceremonies.

Im catholic and he is not so not sure we want to go through all the classes prior to. We are in the beginning stages but the CHURCH/ or WHERE we get married seems to be holding up options in the d.r. Any suggestions anyone?

Chapels, that will do a nice ceremony but not the full blown catholic ceremony.

Not opposed to the catholic but trying to find a middle ground with my fiance.

We have a large group we are planning for so trying to find the perfect resorts for everyone but also my perfect wedding day/reception/chapel.

    Love some feedback?

Some of the resorts we are looking at are the Iberostar, Majestic Elegance, and Paradisus Palma real.

    Thanks

  11. My fiance and I have Sandals ST. Lucia on our top 2 list.

We have been trying to narrow this down.

THe dream is st. lucia but fear the time for travel for people.

We have a large wedding party and large guestlist to accomidate.

WE anticipate 60 people. Is St. Lucia the sort of place to have a wedding that size. The pictures of the resorts look amazing?

Is it c lose to town for our guests to get out and explore.

Any feedback on the sandals in st. lucia or antgua would be great.

    Thanks
