  1. smile36.gifWe found a great photographer, and already put a deposit with her last week: Misha Earle is our savior!  She's great, is very polite, cool, and professional.  She has work on Facebook too.  Her prices are reasonable and she's part of Damien and Paula's group of WPAJamaica, it's an elite, 8-9 members of excellent photographers. None of them have any bad pics or slideshows.  Misha is the elite member of the group so she costs a few hundred more.  But we figure this is our big day, which will only happen once, we want amazing photos to capture the memories...know what I mean? jerry.gifbunny_4.gif

    Check her out here: http://www.mishaearlephotography.com/

  2. Thank you very much!! She replied within a day, I'm very impressed, and her work is great!

It's great when a photographer is a true professional and knows how to use proper grammar, unlike you know who.  rockon.gif

I am also posting the link directly to Michael/photoshop, which contains the 2010 pricing list. You can always contact him directly regarding packages & pricing for 2011 if it is available.

After the site loads, click on "Download" at the bottom of the screen & you will then find the pricing list.

Not sure where you heard that they don't work weddings on a Friday.  Was it a certain photographer that you were trying to get?  I'm currently booked with RS for my Friday wedding.

  6. Lua,

Thank you, that helps ease the pain a little bit.  We've read bad reviews stating: bad beach, cockroaches, poor food quality, rude staff, theft...poor reception dinner organization/service by the resort staff.

Can your aunt shed some more light on the resort, does she have any pics?

Also, we found a great photographer who is local in Jamaica.... smile159.gif

Best Images, Michael is the owner, and the website is: http://www.photoshopjamaica.com/

  7. Thanks so much for the info! We've booked Club Riu Negril and not so sure we did the right thing. We are finding so many bad reviews about the resort and the beach. The pics we've seen so far doesn't really help. Anyone out there who got married at that resort?sad.gif

We are hoping to add decorations and flowers to add more class to the wedding.

  8. We went to Riu Ochos Rios in Sept 09 for a friends wedding.  The resort is amazing, food is great, entertainment is excellent and we were never bored.

The bad reviews you read are probably from people who are very picky.  Our room was perfect, clean, room service everyday and we have ZERO complaints from our 6 day stay there. We'd go back in a flash.

You'll love it.  Our friends wedding was at the beach gazebo. It was very nice, there are people watching from a good distance away but everyone respected the privacy of the event.

They had a poolside reception dinner which was great.

  9. Hello, we're starting our research now. We know Jamaica is great as we've been there before. We also know Mexico is cheaper but also has more restrictions (bloodwork, days before, etc..). Can anyone recommend some great all-inclusives in Mexico and/or Jamaica? Earlier this year I was looking into Iberostar Suites and Gran Bahia Principe in Jamaica and a few in Mexico. What are your thoughts?

Also, price is a huge factor. We plan to have no more than 20 guests as well. Looking for a great wedding package.

    Thanks in advance!

  10. Can you send me the pictures link? it's not working...

Grand Palladium - their communication is horrible, up to 4 weddings a day, and they have bad reviews from travel agents and vacation companies..no thanks. I think we've narrowed it down to Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, Grand Bahia, and RIU Tropical Bay...tough choices! None of them are cheap either...

We looked at Cancun, but with the violence going on, $250-$350 in bloodwork required, 3 days in the country before wedding day, etc... too much of a hassle.

    Thoughts?
