  1. BUMP:  Looking to order in the next few days.  Anyone else interested!?!??!

Deciding between these in orange ( http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/tote-bags/2215/two-toned-color-stripe-jute-bags.htm ) or a neutral bag.  One of these ( http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/tote-bags/2016/shopping-jute-bag.htm or http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/tote-bags/2012/large-jute-tote-bag.htm ).

Let me know if you're interested.  They will be ordered "BLANK" so the prices are in the $2-3 range per bag.

  2. I am getting married next month at Secrets Wild Orchid/St James in Montego Bay.  Also, do to our budget, we were not able to visit this resort or Jamaica prior to our trip in November.  If you remind me, I will give you a full report when we return in the middle of November.  The wedding coordinators are Monica & Lisa Marie and are very nice and helpful.  I would contact them to set up a meeting if you're looking for an ADULTS ONLY All inclusive.  They just opening in March 2010 so there is not too much info yet, but they do have a very active facebook fan page.  Looking forward to my trip next month.  Best of luck on your search!

  3. Yeah, I wasn't planning on spending $5 each either, but I liked them, so I thought id add them.  Looking to spend more like $2-3 each.  I'm getting married this year...in just a months time!  So, to make it work for everyone, I figured we'd have to get them blank or just put "Jamaica".  However I think the other bride that said she was interested was getting married in Mexico...so maybe that wont work  =/  I'm not sure how an iron on would work.  Maybe we can call and ask!?!?1  I'm up for any color...so if you have a preference, that's fine.

Question are we all getting married in Jamaica 2011? I think we're going to run into problems with color and what we're going to put on it. If we order blank ones, can we iron on a decal? Just curious.

    Thanks Mookiie for searching.

My DH would like to get bags with something on them, but I want to make sure the print or decal I iron on will be something that people will want to use after the wedding! Let me know.

I'm thinking on getting something plain; I don't know how we would come up with something that would work for everyone ordering.  Here are links to a few that I've found...but willing to look into any totes you like.

I like these next two, but they are more expensive.

Definitely also looking for something I can see everyone using again once they are home from the wedding!

Let me know which one(s) you like the most.

I would LOVE to...I only need about 15 though =/  Were you thinking about getting a graphic on them?  Cause, I'm getting married in Nov in Jamaica too!  Maybe we can just put "Jamaica, November 2010" or something.  I'm also fine with getting them blank.  Let me know!

  6. I honestly haven't done much yet...I guess I better get on that!  Haha

Right now we've just booked the basic package that is included with your 7 night stay.  After much thought my FI and I didn't think it was necessary (for us) to have a "private" reception.    We aren't that big on a lot of the traditional wedding things, so we are thinking on just doing a semi private cocktail hour, where we would do the toast(s) and cake cutting and then just have reservations for everyone at the same restuarant.  Also I am bringing my own photographer, so I don't need any photos that are included in the upgraded packages.  But...I should probably email the WC to figure it all out.  I've kind of been waiting to get a better idea of the number of ppl that will be joining us.

  7. I also FELL IN LOVE with Negirl and it's amazing beaches/cliffs and sunsets! However, one of our first things we decided was that we wanted an adults only and an all inclusive resort. We wanted it to be simple to figure out how much it will cost for our guests and an all inclusive makes that simple! After doing more research on ALL the AO/AI in Jamaica I learned that MOST of the AO/AI cater to couples. Yes, most did allow singles, however most had rooms with only a king bed as an option. Knowing that some of our "single" friends would want to share a room, but not a bed!, our choices were narrowed a lot for us! We ended up choosing Secrets Wild Orchid & St. James, even before they opened!, because it was the best fit for our top priorities. Like others, I made lists and compared and eliminated. I also decided, rather sadly because I was still hooked on Negirl, that I didn't want to subject my guests to another 1+ hour trip by bus after getting off a plane! Secrets is in Montego Bay, but set far enough from the airport that there is minimal to no air traffic noise!

Best of luck. As others have said...it is the most difficult part!

  8. Oh...I forgot to mention (hard to believe huh?!?!?)

We also picked Secrets because it was relatively close to the airport. I decided that as a guest I wouldnt really enjoy an hour to 2 hour bus ride (to get to Negril or Ocho Rios) after getting off a plane. My aunt also just spoke to friends that just returned from a wedding in Negril and one of their complaints was the bus ride! It made me feel good I decided against Negril, even though it looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

So if you decide on Jamaica or Mexico or somewhere else, try to remember your guests when choosing how much "additional" travel will be needed to get to the resort/hotel/villa once landing at the airport!
