  1. Biggest stressor is getting people to book, we have nearly a year planning this wedding when we started planning hotel and airfare ws 650 for 4 days now it cost nearly 1000 and everytime i see someone they start giving me excuses as to why they cant go. honestly as long as my FI and i are there nothing matters and that is why RSVP exsist so that you just say no i cant make it and not tell me everytime you see me why you cant go to the wedding. and if you are coming to the wedding then book already and stop telling me you are going.

second stressor is the wedding party they dont book anything, atleast the bm purchased their dresses, other then that its going slow like snails

  2. Having a dilemma....

I was thinking of having just cocktails and cake for the reception, since the ceremony is at 4 i thought the guest could have dinner anywhere they like throughout the resort, and then we meet later for cake, music, toast and cocktails. While they eat, I could use that time to change dresses and take pictures. One of the reasons i thought this would be a good idea is because DPB is all inclusive and from my own experience there is always so much food that I donâ€t want to overwhelm my guest with more food at a reception sometime around 8 pm after they have been eating all day. So, is not having a sit down dinner at an all-inclusive resort considered tacky?

Figured I would ask here first before contacting the resort. Let me know your thoughts!
i decided on the symbolic for the legal reasons, I believe that if you get married in DR your certificate would be in spanish. therefore you might need to have it translated if you ever need to present your Cert. back home and translations could be costly. I decided to do was get married herebut i wont tell that to my guest since and have symbolic ceremony at DPB that way it will feel "real" for them.
  6. Thank you ladies, for all your advice. I am so grateful. How did people ever survive before with out forums like this?

For the dress, I will start looking asap and will start the STDs this week; I do not want to send them out until after the holidays (when guest will want a vacation)bunny_4.gif

Ok, I will look in to the photag, my aunt is coming from DR this week, Iâ€ll make her in charge of researching a photographer and a pastor as soon as she goes back home ( I might just become her worst nightmare lol)

I am getting married in DR because our parents are Dominican and my Bf grew up there and loves it. We want our wedding to be typical and native. so we are going to need a lot of help from our relatives over there, but I just want to hear from my wedding planner to make sure everything is running ok but itâ€s cool ill just wait for her to contact me, Iâ€m sure Melani will be great

  7. so sorry to have to tell you this but i wanted to get married on that day and i had to select another date. NO they dont hold weddings on sunday. The best that i was able to get was a Symbolic ceremony. i remember speaking to someone from Excellence Punta Cana who was willling to have the symbolic ceremony but they DO NOT allow children in the resort. another great resort but children are not allowed is BlueBay Playa dorado Puerto Plata, the only problem is that the Puerto Plata area is no longer the "hot" spot but the good thing is that in October Prices are very good and the resort is very beautiful (just stay away from the timeshare ppl) My FI proposed @ bluebay....

  8. i love love love the dress, but here is something to consider when it come to hot pink dresses like you would want your girls to wear, this color might not be very flattering on all skin tones, specially sun irritated skin on a fair colored person. i would consider that if this worst case scenario does occur you will have a bunch of lobsters as bridesmaids in your pictures. i think you should stick with the color the dress is currently in picture
