Sorry to hear that, are you set on June? If so did you check Dreams Punta Cana - I hear that one is very nice as well. Good Luck!

Is anyone planning a symbolic ceremony at DPB?? We are getting married legally at home to avoid all of the translation and other issues and am hoping that a copy of the marriage certificate will be enough for the resort(and that we don't have to be in the country for 3 days). Figured I would ask here first before contacting the resort. Let me know your thoughts!

Hi there:
I'm doing a symbolic ceremony as well for the same reasons. You won't have to be there the required 3 days before but we are arriving on a Thurs for our Sat wedding just to have some time to relax before the ceremony and meet with Melani to go ouver the ceremony details.

i decided on the symbolic for the legal reasons, I believe that if you get married in DR your certificate would be in spanish. therefore you might need to have it translated if you ever need to present your Cert. back home and translations could be costly. I decided to do was get married herebut i wont tell that to my guest since and have symbolic ceremony at DPB that way it will feel "real" for them.

Thanks ladies! We are getting there on Wed before our Sat wedding for the same reasons as you Chelymo!! I want to get in and settle everything with Melani before most of my guests arrive! I guess all they would need at the resort is a copy of our marriage license....hopefully that will be enough cause that is all I have.

We are getting married at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana the week of June 22-29 and going to Dreams Palm Beach for our honeymoon for a week.

Has anyone worked with the resort photographer? I want to see if I can set up a TTD session. Also, if anyone has had their honeymoon at Dreams PB I would love to hear all about it!

Having a dilemma....

I was thinking of having just cocktails and cake for the reception, since the ceremony is at 4 i thought the guest could have dinner anywhere they like throughout the resort, and then we meet later for cake, music, toast and cocktails. While they eat, I could use that time to change dresses and take pictures. One of the reasons i thought this would be a good idea is because DPB is all inclusive and from my own experience there is always so much food that I don’t want to overwhelm my guest with more food at a reception sometime around 8 pm after they have been eating all day. So, is not having a sit down dinner at an all-inclusive resort considered tacky?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
