    Going with a resort photographer is kind of dicey, since they might be hired there because they have connections, or give the resort a cheap rate. You'd be better off getting your own photographer if you have a specific style you want, and you might even get a cheaper rate since they get to go to a gorgeous tropical destination with you. We found this http://www.gatheringguide.com/ec/photographers.html helpful when picking our photographer, if it helps you find someone reasonable.

    Hi Gemma! I'm also new (can't figure out how to make my own intro post so I'll piggyback on yours) and marrying the man of my dreams in April 2011!!! We are getting married in Mexico too, but we don't know where yet. Definitely on the beach. I'm so excited! Good luck finding a hotel. Lois
