  1. Definitely good to know! You don't want to be surprised by extra costs!
  2. Thanks for your feedback - very helpful!
  3. Thanks very much, however do you mind emailing it to me since I don't have enough points to open it (I guess I should have included this in my original post). Thanks!!
  4. Hello, Does anyone have a map of ROR that they used for their invitations or welcome package? Thanks!
  5. Loveisintheair - Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad things went well and smooth. Just wondering, you did the free semi-private dinner, right? How did you manage to find room to do a bouquet toss?! From what I see in other pics, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of room. How was the transition from the ceremony to your first dance?
  6. I'm curious to know about the flowers too! Also, how was the beach party after the dinner? Did your guests enjoy it and was it somehow incorporated as your wedding reception?
  7. I did get a chance to read that thread and was going to post a reply to it but it's closed! Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely consider having a back up plan if I do go this route. I was hoping to get some feedback from people who have done this and if things worked out or if you wished you had done something else.
  8. Hello, Going through some of the threads, I read somewhere that the ROR beach party is on Saturday nights, is this correct? Instead of having a poolside/beach reception, do you think it would work and be acceptable to just move the guests to the beach party for dancing, drinking, etc after dinner? Has anyone done this in the past or have you seen it happen while you were there? Thanks!
  9. Thanks for everyone's advice! I guess another concern is will the WC actually have time to spend with us and the bridal party so that we know what to do for the ceremony (ie. where people should stand, walking down the isle, etc). I would imagine that this is part of the rehearsal but I'm not even sure if we would be able to fit a rehearsal in with the time restraint! SeptemberBride - the wedding is tentatively booked for Dec. 6, 2010. Thanks for your help!
  10. TA Maureen - I managed to get clearance to arrive on the Friday as there are no flights to Jamaica from Toronto Wednesday or Thursday of that week! I just don't know if the WC at ROR will spend enough time with me to plan out everything the way I want. Also, I imagine that we would do the rehearsal on the Sunday but I'm under the impression that the WC's don't work Sundays....is this correct? vdaybride - Sounds like your wedding was perfect even though you only got there the day before...I still can't believe that happened!! Good thing you're so well organized...thanks for the tip!
  11. Hello, My wedding is on a Monday at ROR and I will be arriving on the Friday. Will I have enough time with the WC to organize and plan the wedding as well as the rehearsal? Do the WC at ROR work on the weekend? Any info or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
  12. if anyone has the script or manages to get a hold of it, please email to me cuz I can't see the original link! [email protected] thanks!!
  13. nikicrosby - I see that you're arriving on Friday for a Monday wedding. Do you know how much time you will have with the wedding coordinator? Will she be available throughout the weekend for you to meet with her to plan the wedding and the rehearsal??
  14. Hi there...just wondering if there are any brides out there that had or will have a semi private reception at ROR. Did you feel like you had the place to yourselves or did it feel awkward having other diners there? If you had to choose, would you opt for private reception over semi private? Any feedback, thoughts, opinions would be appreciated!
  15. Great review and pics! Did the resort supply the lights on the pillars? Also, how much did it cost to rent the lanterns?
  16. drbrainfreeze - I checked out your wedding picks from the link you posted...where did you have your reception?
  17. Hi there...is there a reason why I can't see the pics?!?!
  18. I want to know as well....I've been in touch with a wedding sales coordinater at RIU Tropical and have been trying to find out if I get married first then fly to Jamaica, can I do the renewal of vows ceremony (since I would already be legally married) but I don't want the minister to talk about renewal of vows since I want the ceremony to be as if we were getting married...I haven't been given an answer to that. I don't think she understands what I'm talking about!
  19. Thanks for all your input. Geralyn: Is there a beach reception option for RIU Tropical Bay? I see that you had a beach reception in RIU Montego Bay but I didn't see that option for Tropical. I've been in touch with a wedding sales coordinator from that resort and we've been corresponding via email. I've asked her several times if a beach reception is available but she never answered my question!!! They say that the reception is semi-private at one of their restaurants and if I wanted a private reception, I would have to pay extra and I would have to speak to the hotel manager about it upon arrival! Has anyone experienced this?!
  20. Hi Everyone, I've been reading the forums for a little while now and I was wondering if I could get some input from you all. My fiance and I would love to go to Negril, Jamaica to get married (late Nov-early Dec 2010). I see that many people here have gotten married or will be getting married in either Beaches or Riu...could you send me the WC's contact info. Ideally, I would like a beach ceremony and beach or poolside reception...do these resorts offer these options? It would be great if the soon to be brides or brides of these resorts could share their experiences (likes/dislikes, etc). Thank you!
