  1. Hi Ladies - Im back from my wonderful wedding at DLR! I will post a review very soon. All I can say in the meantime is not to worry about anything. Everything exceeded my expectations

Thanks for the info....I will have to wait and see what heppens I guess!
  3. LAST MINUTE QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TO DLR! ok, so I was speaking with a friend today about how "wedding poor" I have become in the last month with all of these expenses! She was wondering if we really need to dish out the $1000 USD plus 26% tax to have to SSG rented just to our party for the entire night. So my question for those who have been there, is if you think that there might be a way to section off the restaurant so that it is still private? Also - since there are 9 a la carte's, would the whole restaurant even be that packed in the first place? Just wondering, cause if I can save almost $1500 Canadian dollars then I just might!
  4. 5 MORE SLEEPS!!! OMG OMG!!! Nadia - thanks for all of the information and pictures. It was very helpful to hear things from your point of view After seeing those gazebo pics im pretty sure im going to take some pictures there - it looks so pretty!!! We finally have everything finalized with the local catholic church so thats all good to go also, now onto packing!
  5. Nadia - I am having my reception at the SSG in 19 days (WOO HOO!), just wondering if you ate there and what you thought of the food? would you recommend anything from the menu or suggest that I stay away from anything?

Hey Ladies, Havent been here for a long time...lots of planning going on!! We are renting the SSG and paying the extra fee so that it is just the wedding guests. Music and dancing are good to go for this option. I had just told Tiara that I would book the DJ there for 250 but reading some earlier posts I am not sure if I should! Tiara did say that I could email the DJ a list of songs beforehand...Im hoping it will turn out ok with the music!

I am also doing the free package with an upgrade (paying per person) for the private ceremony, but what you mentioned with the $1000 plus tax flat rate is interesting... I didn't know such an option existed! There have been a lot of pics and info posted throughout this thread so I hope you find it useful!! Yes I will be there in a short 3 months! Everything on this thread has been soooo helpful!! I initially wanted to have a beach reception, but it worked out to being about 75 per person because i wanted steak and alll the yummy food from the menu. I told Tiara that this was too expensive, and that i was looking for a cheaper option...and Voila! She suggested renting one of the a la carte's for the evening. Still pricey, but cheaper than paying per head. Not a bad idea...

I have lots of rooms booked so I will have my travel agent send this infor to Tiara asap! I am so happy to be connecting with other Dreams La Romana Brides!! Thank you! If you have any other tips that havent been posted on this thread (I have read all posts now!) please let me know!

If you eat there let me know how the food is also. Congrats on the upcoming wedding and cant wait to hear all about it!

I'm thinking Seaside Grill with the Silver package, which (when you add in gratuities, etc.) comes to about $39 US per person. It kinda sucks to pay for food when there will be free food all around us. (for 20 guests, that's 800$). What are you ladies doing? I am soo confused about everything. I am having my reception at the seaside grill also, but I am paying 1000 USD plus 26% tax to reserve the entire restaurant for the evening (so noone else can dine there that evening). With this option I apparently dont have to pay per person either. Was this option presented to any of you brides?
  12. Hi All! New to this forum and wanted to share my info. - ~50 guests, we are staying at the Dreams Resort - Getting married Monday Feb 15th at 3pm - Having a catholic ceremony at St. Stanislaus Church - Reception at the Seaside Grill (I think...) - Bringing a photographer with us Communication has been pretty difficult with the resort so far. Also we kind of didnt think the dates through and we will be going away during Spring Break...so we are hoping that its not too rowdy, should have made the reservations for the week before or after!
