I contacted the Waves Salon their prices seemed pretty good and include a trial.  They asked for a %50 deposit which I wasn't exactly comfortable with cause I've never seen any reviews of them.  I just wish I knew more about the PP Spa and how well they do.  Especially make up.

I dont think you have anything to worry about.  My DH and I just returned from playacar palace and had a wonderful trip.  The service of the staff was great, the location was the best and the beach is perfect.  We had no problem using up our $1500 credit as it was quite easy to book the tours and we upgraded our room from the resort view to concierge level with an ocean view.  The only thing I would say was on the negative side was only having 3 restaurants, as we got a little bored.  There was always something good to eat but sometimes at the buffet somethings just sat took long.  We loved the asian restaurants but the italian was not so great for our tastes as we have tons of great italian restaurants here in nj(but others we met there loved it so to each its own).  Also they loved to put cream cheese in a hand full of the dishes (alot of the sushi had it and some of the italian) and i dont like cream cheese so i dont think that helped.

We only saw one wedding talking place for the whole week so that was nice compared to where we got married as they had one or two everyday.  Let me know if you want any pics or info on the tours as we did most of them.

Thanks for the reassurance.  I know it will be great!!!  Did you have any trouble booking the tours when you got there?

When I asked about an outside photographer they told me it wasn't allowed until I told them I wouldn't book unless I could have one.
I was told the photographer would need to stay a night at the hotel to attend the wedding. But I am having limited guests, I suppose they can get the pass if they are in your 20% off site guests.
  4. So it looks like Playacar Palace is now part of the Wyndam resorts as well. Has anyone heard about any changes or what this does to wedding packages ecthuh.gif? Its making me nervous. Any info would be appreciated I can't find much.

BTW- On the Palace Resorts website with the list of all resorts is where they show the name change. There is no info under recent news.

We have 50 people coming. We were borderline on the 75 room night thing so my TA split some rooms (where there were 3 people there are now 2) to make sure we reached the mark.
I honestly haven't kept track because my parents are footing most of the bill but if I had to guess I would say maybe $10k including Del Sol for photography, music, lights, projection system & screen, make up, centerpieces and upgraded decor like colored napkins/linens.
Do you have Del Sol staying overnight or were you able to purchase a guest pass? It seems there policy is very inconsistant.
  6. Hey everyone. I am debating between the Sun Palace or Excellence Playa Mujeres for a wedding for 10/10. I have received quite a bit of info from both resorts and I am really bothered by the Sun Palace not allowing outside photographers. I think it will prevent me from booking there but otherwise I love it.

Does anyone have info or examples from their photographer. They sent me some photos but that doesn't help with any specific photographer. I hope I can get around the policy somehow.

  7. Hi everyone. Im new to the forum and all you girls have been so helpful. I am planning a wedding for Oct 2010 but haven't booked yet...am I too latehuh.gif I am so indecisive. I was hoping if anyone knows if EPM requires a certain percent of guests stay at the resort. Honestly I didn't want any guests, but my family won't let me get away with that. I just don't want anyone too close : P Thanks
