    Hey Jennin.

    It's nice of your friend to make it but the real jamaican wedding cake has it's fruits and stuff soaking for weeks if not months before baking.

     

    i'm jamaican and my suggestion is to go to a jamaican restaurant and ask them if they have 'rum cake' for sale. x-mas is coming up so i'm sure many places will have some for sale (traditionally baked for the holidays)

     

    my co-workers love rum cake.

     

    personally, if you have alot of picky people attending your wedding....i'd suggest going with a basic flavour like vanilla or marble.

    I just ordered mine on Vistaprint.ca
    i used that company before for other invitations and i was totally impressed with the price and quality of the products. check it out.
    theres also a place on Dundas St.W (downtown @ university) called Print-Zone. i pass them every morning. because they're a small print shop, they might beable to cut you a deal. Google them..

    I contacted the Secrets company last week and they stated that its opening spring 2010. Wedding info has not been updated on their site (prices and such).
    Air Canada Vacations has begun selling packages for this resort.
    Prices start at about 2500.... for now. it's still quite early.

    once i hear anything else, i'll defintely share!

    we're both from Jamaica... so we have family all over.
