  1. I had the basic wedding package that was included in the royal service room category. I did order a chill out chic decor for the ceremony which was $500. That included the aisle runner, the aisle vases with orchids, the wooden canopy with the white/brown bows, the table with brown cloth and a small vase with flower in water. I brought my own program fans to place on the chairs. I wanted a simple look for the reception so I went with basic white and brought my own brown accents (menus, birds-for bird theme, bird cages, rocks) the centerpieces i used were the three various sized circular vases with floating candles. and I had the WC put my rocks around it with plenty of votives. let me know if you have any other questions. My family took planty of pics of the decor, so I will post those when i get them.
  2. I got married at Paradisus Punta Cana On January 17th, 2010. I am so happy to share my experience with all of you. I cant express enough how happy I was with the way Paradisus PC helped make my wedding special. FLIGHT: We flew out of Newark and had no problems. I brought a lot of my wedding decor with me which caused us to pay an overweight fee. No big deal considering I was able to make sure that i was going to get the look i wanted. CHECK IN: We booked Royal Service which has its own private check in. It was awesome. We were hot and tired but they quickly brought over cold towels and cold champagne! we had a quick bite to eat at the royal service restaurant before we headed to our room. ROOM: The room was nice. Nothing fancy or extraordinary. I was hoping to have something a little extra considering the cost we paid with Royal Service but it was good enough. RESORT: the resort itself is amazing. The grounds are beautiful and so well kept. Pool was so much fun and always a hot spot near the pool bar. The Food was good. We ate at most of the restaurants (there are so many) and they were delicious. My only complaint was the chinese restaurant. Not a good choice. WELOME DINNER: We had our welcome dinner at Marino Restaurant. The wedding coordinator helped set this up. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the wait staff was very helpful and attentive to our group. WEDDING COORDINATOR: My wedding coordinator was Andrea with some help from Miguelina. They were great. Andrea was so helpful with the planning before I arrived. She understood the style and look i was going for and took care of it. I met with her the day before the wedding and she made it all happen! she was great to work with and managed to stay for my entire even to ensure everything went smoothly. WEDDING: I had my symbolic ceremony on the beach at 5pm. The ceremony itself lasted only 15-20 minutes. It was so perfect. So romantic and emotional. Not a dry eye in the group! It was just what we wanted. Once the ceremony was over, we all had champagne and then took a few family and group shots on the beach. PHOTOGRAPHER: HDC Photo was my photographer and they were the greatest decision I made. Milan took some amazing shots and my friends and family are still raving about them. I would highly recommend HDC Photo to anyone having a Punta Cana wedding. There prices were right on target and the pictures are magnificent! Il let the images speak for themselves. After my guests left us on the beach to either freshen up or have some drinks at the lobby bar, my husband and I had our private photo session on the beach and gazebo. so much fun and beautiful. RECEPTION: We had a private reception in the terrace location. There are 2 terrace locations (the convention terrace and a larger section around the corner) We had it in the bigger space. We only had to tables full of guests and then a sweetheart table for us in the middle but i wanted to also have a small lounge area set up behind the table that people could smoke, relax or get some air. It was a great space and I also paid to have the dance floor lit with lanterns. DJ: I had DJ Mannia as our music and they were great. I sent Alex my music selections prior to arriving and then had a brief chat with him as we were eating dinner and he kept the party going! everyone was dancing the entire night. he used my music selections as well as throwing in a few dance songs that my guests loved. I would highly recommend DJ MANNIA. I know i didnt get too into detail but if you have any questions please feel free to email me... semi

  4. I am getting married in less than a month and am breaking down my budget list... I am wondering about Tipping? I know that there is already service charges on our wedding bill but dont know if or even who I would/should tip for my wedding day? Or even how much? Any ideas ladies? I need your help!
  5. I am getting married at PPC in January. Not sure if it is the busy season but am a bit concerned about my beach ceremony having close beachcombers. I heard some stories of unappealing vacationers in many photos in the background and hoots and hollers during the ceremony itself. Anyone know more about this? Where on the beach do they perform the ceremony? are people free to walk around? Would it be possible to ask to block off that part of the beach for the 15 minutes?
  6. Anyone use or know of the rules on using Sparklers at wedding receptions in Punta Cana? I am interested in using this at Paradisus but not sure if its allowed? If so, Can you get on a plane with this stuff? Thanks

  10. I love this idea.... they look great and add a nice touch. One question though... does this mean it has to be done right before the reception or else the batteries will die?
  11. This was a great video... You looked beautiful and loved how great the reception looked. Was it in the terrace? did you have a package?
  12. I am going to have the wish package. I am expecting no more than 20 people to attend but a private dinner and some dancing is important to me. After speaking to Miguelina, she said I can do a private sit-down dinner for $50 pp. I thought that would be great... now I just need to find the details as to how much extras (decor) will cost. I am actually debating on the gabi beach or terrace for dinner/some dancing. Any suggestions?
  13. I am having a hard time choosing where to have my reception location in Paradisus Punta Cana. I am looking to have only about 15 guests and would like to have a sit down dinner with dancing. Not sure if I should do one of the restaurants or have it at one of the terraces. Need some help!!
  14. I am muslim and my fiance is a converted muslim. I am looking to incorporate some of the religion into the ceremony. I am not fond of the idea that my sybolic ceremony will be in Spanish with a translator in English. I feel like my guests will feel a bit out of touch with the flow of the ceremony. I am contemplating on just paying for an officiant. Does anyone know of a muslim officiant or an English speaking one in Punta Cana. thanks
  15. That site was so helpful. Thank you...now I have to narrow down my choices :/ lol
  16. Hoping someone can help me in describing the sand ceremony at Paradisus. I am going to have a symbolic ceremony and afraid that it will be extremely short and thought maybe the sand ceremony will add that special touch. How is it incorporated into your vows? Thanks Semi
  17. Thanks Christie! I love your palm logo with wedding date. Can I ask how you made that. I am having trouble with mine. Semi
  18. Thanks guys... I was looking for something intimate but also have the option to have our first dance and a place for our close friends and family to let loose. I understand you are unable to have music in the restaurants (when you get the wedding package thats included in the wish)... I am hoping I could pay per person to have 2 or three tables set up in a semi private location.
  19. I have a question for you Paradisus Punta Cana ladies. I am having a ceremony here in January and am only expection about 6 or so guests. I was looking into reception options and dont think its worth it to do a private sit-down dinner for under 10 people. Have any of you had a simple reception at one of the receptions locations or restaurants without paying for the entire wedding package? If so, can you have music? DJ? Ipod? Do you know if you can avoid the wedding package price if I am not interested in the extras that come with it and just want to pay (a la carte) for sit down dinner reception? I m totally lost here and the WC is not responding. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Semi
